Psalm 120

King James Version

1 A Song of degrees. In my distress I cried unto the LORD, and he heard me. 

2 Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips, and from a deceitful tongue. 

3 What shall be given unto thee? or what shall be done unto thee, thou false tongue? 

4 Sharp arrows of the mighty, with coals of juniper. 

5 Woe is me, that I sojourn in Mesech, that I dwell in the tents of Kedar! 

6 My soul hath long dwelt with him that hateth peace. 

7 I am for peace: but when I speak, they are for war.

Deliver Me, O Lord

1 A Song of Ascents. In my distress I called to the Lord, and he answered me. (Ex 34:24; 1Ki 12:27; Isa 30:29) 

2 Deliver me, O Lord, from lying lips, from a deceitful tongue. 

3 What shall be given to you, and what more shall be done to you, you deceitful tongue? (1Sa 3:17) 

4 A warrior’s sharp arrows, with glowing coals of the broom tree! (Ps 45:5; Ps 127:4; Ps 140:10; Pr 25:22; Jer 50:9) 

5 Woe to me, that I sojourn in Meshech, that I dwell among the tents of Kedar! (Ge 10:2; Ge 25:13; So 1:5; Isa 60:7; Jer 49:28; Eze 27:13; Eze 27:21; Eze 38:2; Eze 39:1) 

6 Too long have I had my dwelling among those who hate peace. 

7 I am for peace, but when I speak, they are for war! (Ps 109:4)
