1A Prayer of David. Hear the right, O LORD, attend unto my cry, give ear unto my prayer, that goeth not out of feigned lips.2Let my sentence come forth from thy presence; let thine eyes behold the things that are equal.3Thou hast proved mine heart; thou hast visited me in the night; thou hast tried me, and shalt find nothing; I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.4Concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer.5Hold up my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps slip not.6I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God: incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech.7Shew thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust in thee from those that rise up against them .8Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,9From the wicked that oppress me, from my deadly enemies, who compass me about.10They are inclosed in their own fat: with their mouth they speak proudly.11They have now compassed us in our steps: they have set their eyes bowing down to the earth;12Like as a lion that is greedy of his prey, and as it were a young lion lurking in secret places.13Arise, O LORD, disappoint him, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked, which is thy sword:14From men which are thy hand, O LORD, from men of the world, which have their portion in this life, and whose belly thou fillest with thy hid treasure : they are full of children, and leave the rest of their substance to their babes.15As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.
1Ein Gebet. Von David. Höre, HERR, die gerechte Sache[1], horche auf mein Schreien, nimm zu Ohren mein Gebet von Lippen ohne Trug[2]! (Ps 54:4; Ps 55:2; Ps 61:2; Ps 84:9; Ps 86:6; Ps 88:3; Ps 102:2; Ps 143:1)2Von deinem Angesicht gehe mein Recht aus! Deine Augen mögen Aufrichtigkeit sehen.3Du hast mein Herz geprüft, hast mich des Nachts durchforscht; du hast mich geläutert –[3] nichts findest du. Ich habe überlegt[4]: Nichts wird meinem Mund entschlüpfen. (Ps 4:4)7Erweise wunderbar deine Gnade[5], du Retter derer, die sich bergen vor denen, die sich gegen deine Rechte[6] auflehnen.8Bewahre mich wie den Augapfel[7], verbirg mich im Schatten deiner Flügel (De 32:10; Ru 2:12; Ps 16:1; Ps 36:8; Ps 57:2; Ps 61:5; Ps 91:4)9vor den Gottlosen, die mich zerstören, meinen Todfeinden, die mich umzingeln.10Mit ihrem Fett[8] verschließen sie ⟨ihr Herz⟩, mit ihrem Mund reden sie aus Anmaßung. (Jud 1:16)11Unsere Schritte – jetzt haben sie uns umringt[9]; sie richten ihre Augen darauf, ⟨uns⟩ zu Boden zu strecken.12Er ist gleich einem Löwen, gierig nach Raub, und wie ein Junglöwe, der im Versteck sitzt. (Ps 10:9)13Steh auf, HERR, tritt ihm entgegen, wirf ihn nieder! Rette meine Seele vor dem Gottlosen durch dein Schwert, (Ps 10:12)14vor den Leuten durch deine Hand, HERR, vor den Leuten, deren Teil im Leben von dieser Welt ist! Was du zugedacht hast[10] – damit füllst du[11] ihren Bauch, dass ⟨noch ihre⟩ Söhne davon satt werden und ihren Kindern den Rest hinterlassen.
