1A Song of degrees. LORD, remember David, and all his afflictions:2How he sware unto the LORD, and vowed unto the mighty God of Jacob;3Surely I will not come into the tabernacle of my house, nor go up into my bed;4I will not give sleep to mine eyes, or slumber to mine eyelids,5Until I find out a place for the LORD, an habitation for the mighty God of Jacob.6Lo, we heard of it at Ephratah: we found it in the fields of the wood.7We will go into his tabernacles: we will worship at his footstool.8Arise, O LORD, into thy rest; thou, and the ark of thy strength.9Let thy priests be clothed with righteousness; and let thy saints shout for joy.10For thy servant David' sake turn not away the face of thine anointed.11The LORD hath sworn in truth unto David; he will not turn from it; Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne.12If thy children will keep my covenant and my testimony that I shall teach them, their children shall also sit upon thy throne for evermore.13For the LORD hath chosen Zion; he hath desired it for his habitation.14This is my rest for ever: here will I dwell; for I have desired it.15I will abundantly bless her provision: I will satisfy her poor with bread.16I will also clothe her priests with salvation: and her saints shall shout aloud for joy.17There will I make the horn of David to bud: I have ordained a lamp for mine anointed.18His enemies will I clothe with shame: but upon himself shall his crown flourish.
1Ein Wallfahrtslied. Rechne, HERR, dem David alle seine Mühsal an[1]! (Ps 25:18)2Der dem HERRN schwor, ein Gelübde tat dem Mächtigen Jakobs: (Ge 49:24)3»Ich will[2] das Zelt meines Hauses nicht betreten, ich will[3] das Lager meines Bettes nicht besteigen,4ich will[4] meinen Augen keinen Schlaf gestatten, keinen Schlummer meinen Augenlidern,5bis ich eine Stätte finde für den HERRN, Wohnungen für den Starken Jakobs!« (2Sa 7:1; 1Ki 8:17; 1Ch 28:2; Ac 7:46)6Siehe, wir hören von ihr[5] in Efrata, wir fanden sie in dem Gebiete Jaars[6]. (1Sa 7:1; 2Sa 6:3)7Lasst uns einziehen in seine Wohnungen, niederfallen vor dem Schemel seiner Füße! (Ps 99:5; La 2:1)8Erhebe dich, HERR, zu deiner Ruhe, du und die Lade deiner Stärke!9Deine Priester sollen sich bekleiden mit Gerechtigkeit, und deine Getreuen sollen jubeln! (2Ch 6:41; Job 29:14; Re 19:8)10Wegen Davids, deines Knechtes, weise nicht ab das Angesicht deines Gesalbten! (2Ch 6:42; Ps 84:10; Ps 144:10)11Der HERR hat David einen Treueid[7] geschworen, er wird nicht davon abweichen: »Von der Frucht deines Leibes will ich auf deinen Thron setzen. (Nu 23:19; 2Sa 7:12; Ps 89:4; Ps 89:5; Lu 1:32; Joh 7:42; Ac 2:30; Ac 13:23)12Wenn deine Söhne meinen Bund und meine Zeugnisse bewahren, die ich sie lehren werde, so sollen auch ihre Söhne für immer auf deinem Thron sitzen.« (1Ki 8:25; 2Ch 7:18; Jer 33:17)13Denn der HERR hat Zion erwählt, hat ihn begehrt zu seiner Wohnstätte: (Ps 9:12)14»Dies ist meine Ruhestatt für immer, hier will ich wohnen, denn ich habe ihn[8] begehrt.15Seine Speise will ich reichlich segnen, seine Armen mit Brot sättigen.16Seine Priester will ich bekleiden mit Heil[9], seine Getreuen sollen laut jubeln. (2Ch 6:41; Isa 61:10)17Dort will ich das Horn Davids wachsen lassen[10], habe ich ein Licht zugerichtet meinem Gesalbten. (1Sa 2:10; 1Ki 15:4; 2Ch 21:7; Ps 89:25; Lu 1:69)18Seine Feinde will ich bekleiden mit Schande, aber auf ihm wird seine Krone glänzen[11].« (Ps 35:26)
