1And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:2And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;3And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:4But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.5And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.6The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.7And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.8And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice'den.9They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.10And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.11And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.12And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.13The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim.14But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines toward the west; they shall spoil them of the east together: they shall lay their hand upon Edom and Moab; and the children of Ammon shall obey them.15And the LORD shall utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with his mighty wind shall he shake his hand over the river, and shall smite it in the seven streams, and make men go over dryshod.16And there shall be an highway for the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria; like as it was to Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt.

Er wird nicht richten nach dem, was seine Augen sehen, und nicht zurechtweisen nach dem, was seine Ohren hören[1], (Joh 7:24)4sondern er wird die Geringen richten in Gerechtigkeit und die Elenden[2] des Landes zurechtweisen in Geradheit. Und er wird den Gewalttätigen[3] schlagen mit dem Stab seines Mundes und mit dem Hauch seiner Lippen den Gottlosen töten. (Job 15:30; Ps 76:10; Isa 2:4; Isa 16:5; Isa 32:1; Isa 33:22; 2Th 2:8; Re 1:16; Re 19:11)5Gerechtigkeit wird der Schurz[4] seiner Hüften sein und die Treue[5] der Schurz[6] seiner Lenden. – (Ps 45:4; Ps 89:9; Isa 9:6; Eph 6:14)6Und der Wolf wird beim Lamm weilen und der Leopard beim Böckchen lagern. Das Kalb und der Junglöwe und das Mastvieh werden zusammen sein, und ein kleiner Junge wird sie treiben. (Isa 65:25)7Kuh und Bärin werden ⟨miteinander⟩ weiden, ihre Jungen werden zusammen lagern. Und der Löwe wird Stroh fressen wie das Rind. (Isa 65:25)8Und der Säugling wird spielen an dem Loch der Viper und das entwöhnte Kind seine Hand ausstrecken nach der Höhle der Otter. (Job 5:23)9Man wird nichts Böses tun noch verderblich handeln auf meinem ganzen heiligen Berg. Denn das Land ist voll von Erkenntnis des HERRN wie von Wasser, das das Meer bedeckt. – (Isa 32:16; Isa 33:6; Isa 60:18; Isa 65:25)10Und an jenem Tag wird es geschehen: Der Wurzelspross[7] Isais, der als Feldzeichen der Völker dasteht, nach ihm werden die Nationen fragen; und seine Ruhestätte wird Herrlichkeit sein. (Ps 145:11; Isa 2:2; Isa 42:4; Mt 12:21; Ro 15:12)11Und an jenem Tag wird es geschehen, da wird der Herr noch einmal seine Hand erheben[8], um den Rest seines Volkes, der übrig bleibt, loszukaufen aus Assur und Ägypten, aus Patros[9] und Kusch, aus Elam[10], Schinar[11] und Hamat und von den Inseln des Meeres[12]. (De 9:29; 2Ki 17:24; Es 10:1; Isa 21:2; Isa 22:6; Isa 27:13; Jer 44:1; Da 1:2; Ho 11:10; Joe 3:5)12Und er wird den Nationen ein Feldzeichen aufrichten und die Vertriebenen Israels zusammenbringen, und die Verstreuten Judas wird er sammeln von den vier Enden der Erde. (Isa 18:3; Isa 27:13; Isa 43:6; Isa 49:12; Isa 49:22; Isa 62:10; Jer 51:12; Zec 8:7)13Dann wird die Eifersucht Ephraims weichen, und die Bedränger Judas werden[13] ausgerottet werden. Ephraim wird auf Juda nicht eifersüchtig sein, und Juda wird Ephraim nicht bedrängen. (Jer 3:18)14Und sie werden nach Westen auf die Berglehne der Philister fliegen. Miteinander werden sie die Söhne des Ostens ausplündern. Edom und Moab werden ihre Hand greifen, und die Söhne Ammons werden ihnen hörig sein. (Jud 6:3; Jer 48:1; Jer 49:2; Eze 25:14; Da 11:41; Am 9:12; Ob 1:19; Zep 2:7)15Dann wird der HERR die Meereszunge Ägyptens spalten[14]. Und er wird seine Hand über den Strom[15] schwingen mit der Gewalt seines Hauches und ihn in sieben Bäche zerschlagen, sodass man mit Schuhen hindurchgehen kann. (Isa 19:16; Re 16:12)16So wird es eine Straße geben für den Rest seines Volkes, der aus Assur übrig bleibt, wie es eine ⟨Straße⟩ für Israel gab an dem Tag, als es aus dem Land Ägypten heraufzog. (Ex 14:22; Isa 19:23; Isa 27:13)
