Acts 8

1 And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles. 

2 And devout men carried Stephen to his burial, and made great lamentation over him. 

3 As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison. 

4 Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word. 

5 Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them. 

6 And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. 

7 For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed. 

8 And there was great joy in that city. 

9 But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one: 

10 To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God. 

11 And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries. 

12 But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. 

13 Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done. 

14 Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John: 

15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: 

16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) 

17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost. 

18 And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money, 

19 Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost. 

20 But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. 

21 Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God. 

22 Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee. 

23 For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity. 

24 Then answered Simon, and said, Pray ye to the Lord for me, that none of these things which ye have spoken come upon me. 

25 And they, when they had testified and preached the word of the Lord, returned to Jerusalem, and preached the gospel in many villages of the Samaritans. 

26 And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert. 

27 And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship, 

28 Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet. 

29 Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot. 

30 And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest? 

31 And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him. 

32 The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth: 

33 In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth. 

34 And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man? 

35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus. 

36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? 

37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. 

38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him. 

39 And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing. 

40 But Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through he preached in all the cities, till he came to Caesarea.

1 Saulus aber willigte in seine Tötung mit ein. An jenem Tag entstand aber eine große Verfolgung gegen die Gemeinde in Jerusalem; und alle wurden in die Landschaften von Judäa und Samaria zerstreut, ausgenommen die Apostel. (Ac 11:19; Ac 22:20; 1Th 2:14) 

2 Gottesfürchtige Männer aber bestatteten den Stephanus und stellten eine große Klage über ihn an. (Mt 14:12) 

3 Saulus aber verwüstete die Gemeinde, indem er der Reihe nach in die Häuser ging; und er schleppte sowohl Männer als auch Frauen fort und überlieferte sie ins Gefängnis. (Ac 9:2; Ac 22:4; Ac 26:9; 1Co 15:9; Ga 1:13; Php 3:6; 1Ti 1:13) 

Philippus in Samaria – Simon der Zauberer

4 Die Zerstreuten nun gingen umher und verkündigten das Wort. 

5 Philippus aber ging hinab in eine Stadt Samarias und predigte ihnen den Christus. (Ac 6:5) 

6 Die Volksmengen achteten einmütig auf das, was von Philippus geredet wurde, indem sie zuhörten und die Zeichen sahen, die er tat. (Ac 2:43; Ac 4:30) 

7 Denn von vielen, die unreine Geister hatten, fuhren sie aus, mit lauter Stimme schreiend; und viele Gelähmte und Lahme wurden geheilt. (Mt 8:29; Ac 2:43; Ac 4:30; Ac 5:16) 

8 Und es war große Freude in jener Stadt. (Ac 13:48) 

9 Ein Mann aber, mit Namen Simon, befand sich vorher in der Stadt, der betrieb Magie und brachte das Volk von Samaria außer sich, indem er von sich selbst sagte, dass er etwas Großes sei; (Ac 13:8) 

10 dem hingen alle, vom Kleinen bis zum Großen, an und sagten: Dieser ist die Kraft Gottes, die man die große nennt. 

11 Sie hingen ihm an, weil er sie lange Zeit mit den Magierkünsten außer sich gebracht hatte. 

12 Als sie aber dem Philippus glaubten, der das Evangelium vom Reich Gottes und dem Namen Jesu Christi verkündigte, ließen sie sich taufen, sowohl Männer als auch Frauen. (Ac 2:41) 

13 Auch Simon selbst glaubte, und als er getauft war, hielt er sich zu Philippus; und als er die Zeichen und großen Wunder sah, die geschahen, geriet er außer sich.

14 Als die Apostel in Jerusalem gehört hatten, dass Samaria das Wort Gottes angenommen habe, sandten sie Petrus und Johannes zu ihnen. (Ac 11:1; Ac 11:22; 1Th 2:13) 

15 Als diese hinabgekommen waren, beteten sie für sie, damit sie den Heiligen Geist empfingen; (Ac 2:38) 

16 denn er war noch auf keinen von ihnen gefallen, sondern sie waren allein getauft auf den Namen des Herrn Jesus. 

17 Dann legten sie ihnen die Hände auf, und sie empfingen den Heiligen Geist! – (Ac 6:6; Ac 19:5; Heb 2:4) 

18 Als aber Simon sah, dass durch das Auflegen der Hände der Apostel der Geist gegeben wurde, brachte er ihnen Geld 

19 und sagte: Gebt auch mir diese Macht, dass der, dem ich die Hände auflege, den Heiligen Geist empfängt! 

20 Petrus aber sprach zu ihm: Dein Geld fahre mit dir ins Verderben, weil du gemeint hast, dass die Gabe Gottes durch Geld zu erlangen sei! 

21 Du hast weder Teil noch Recht an dieser Sache, denn dein Herz ist nicht aufrichtig vor Gott. 

22 Tu nun Buße über diese deine Bosheit und bitte den Herrn, ob dir etwa der Anschlag deines Herzens vergeben wird! (2Ti 2:25) 

23 Denn ich sehe, dass du voll bitterer Galle und in Banden der Ungerechtigkeit bist. (De 29:17) 

24 Simon aber antwortete und sprach: Bittet ihr für mich den Herrn, damit nichts über mich kommt von dem, was ihr gesagt habt! 

25 Nachdem sie nun das Wort des Herrn bezeugt und geredet hatten, kehrten sie nach Jerusalem zurück und verkündigten das Evangelium vielen Dörfern der Samaritaner. 

Der Kämmerer aus Äthiopien

26 Ein Engel des Herrn aber redete zu Philippus und sprach: Steh auf und geh nach Süden auf den Weg, der von Jerusalem nach Gaza hinabführt! Der ist öde. (Ac 5:19) 

27 Und er stand auf und ging hin. Und siehe, ein Äthiopier, ein Kämmerer, ein Gewaltiger der Kandake, der Königin der Äthiopier, der über ihren ganzen Schatz ⟨gesetzt⟩ war, war gekommen, um zu Jerusalem anzubeten; (Joh 12:20) 

28 und er war auf der Rückkehr und saß auf seinem Wagen und las den Propheten Jesaja. 

29 Der Geist aber sprach zu Philippus: Tritt hinzu und schließe dich diesem Wagen an! (Mt 4:1; Ac 10:19; Ac 11:12) 

30 Philippus aber lief hinzu und hörte ihn den Propheten Jesaja lesen und sprach: Verstehst du auch, was du liest? 

31 Er aber sprach: Wie könnte ich denn, wenn nicht jemand mich anleitet? Und er bat den Philippus, aufzusteigen und sich zu ihm zu setzen. 

32 Die Stelle der Schrift aber, die er las, war diese: »Er wurde wie ein Schaf zur Schlachtung geführt, und wie ein Lamm stumm ist vor seinem Scherer, so macht er seinen Mund nicht auf. 

33 In seiner Erniedrigung wurde sein Gericht weggenommen. Wer aber wird sein Geschlecht beschreiben? Denn sein Leben wird von der Erde weggenommen.« (Isa 53:7) 

34 Der Kämmerer aber antwortete dem Philippus und sprach: Ich bitte dich, von wem sagt der Prophet dies? Von sich selbst oder von einem anderen? 

35 Philippus aber öffnete seinen Mund und begann, von dieser Schrift aus, ihm das Evangelium von Jesus zu verkündigen. 

36-37 Als sie aber auf dem Weg fortzogen, kamen sie an ein Wasser. Und der Kämmerer spricht: Siehe, ⟨da ist⟩ Wasser! Was hindert mich, getauft zu werden? 

38 Und er befahl, den Wagen anzuhalten. Und sie stiegen beide in das Wasser hinab, sowohl Philippus als auch der Kämmerer, und er taufte ihn. 

39 Als sie aber aus dem Wasser heraufstiegen, entrückte der Geist des Herrn den Philippus, und der Kämmerer sah ihn nicht mehr, denn er zog seinen Weg mit Freuden. (1Ki 18:12; Eze 3:14) 

40 Philippus aber fand man zu Aschdod; und er zog hindurch und verkündigte das Evangelium allen Städten, bis er nach Cäsarea kam. (Ac 21:8; Ac 22:3; Ac 26:9)
