Michas Götzendienst

1 Im Gebirge Ephraim lebte ein Mann namens Micha. 2 Eines Tages sagte er zu seiner Mutter: »Dir sind doch 1100 Silberstücke gestohlen worden. Ich habe gehört, wie du damals den Dieb verflucht hast. Nun, das Geld ist bei mir. Ich selbst habe es genommen!« Da rief seine Mutter: »Der HERR möge den Fluch in Segen verwandeln!« 3 Micha gab ihr das Gestohlene zurück, und sie erklärte: »Das Silber soll dem HERRN gehören! Ich werde dir davon ein Gottesbild herstellen lassen, aus Holz geschnitzt und mit Silber überzogen. So wirst du doch noch etwas von dem Silber haben.« 4 Sie brachte 200 der Silberstücke zum Goldschmied und ließ eine Götzenstatue aus Holz mit einem silbernen Guss anfertigen. Micha stellte die Statue bei sich auf, 5 denn er besaß ein eigenes Heiligtum. Er ließ noch andere Götterfiguren und ein Priestergewand anfertigen und ernannte einen seiner Söhne zum Priester. 6 Damals gab es keinen König in Israel, und jeder tat, was er für richtig hielt. 7 Zu jener Zeit lebte ein junger Mann aus dem Stamm Levi in Bethlehem, das im Stammesgebiet von Juda liegt. 8 Er verließ die Stadt, um sich an irgendeinem anderen Ort niederzulassen. Auf seiner Reise durchs Gebirge Ephraim kam er an Michas Haus vorbei. 9 »Woher kommst du?«, fragte Micha ihn. Der junge Mann antwortete: »Ich bin ein Levit aus Bethlehem in Juda. Ich möchte mich woanders niederlassen.« 10 »Bleib hier bei mir!«, forderte Micha ihn auf. »Du kannst mein Ratgeber und Priester werden. Ich gebe dir dafür zehn Silberstücke im Jahr und so viel Kleidung und Nahrung, wie du brauchst.« 11 Der Levit willigte ein und blieb. Micha nahm ihn auf wie einen seiner Söhne, 12 er weihte ihn zum Priester und dachte: 13 »Jetzt wird der HERR mir sicher Gutes tun, denn ich habe einen Leviten als Priester!«

Micah and the Levite

1 There was a man of the hill country of Ephraim, whose name was Micah. (Jos 24,33; Ri 17,8; Ri 18,2) 2 And he said to his mother, “The 1,100 pieces of silver that were taken from you, about which you uttered a curse, and also spoke it in my ears, behold, the silver is with me; I took it.” And his mother said, “Blessed be my son by the Lord.” (Rut 3,10; 1Sam 15,13) 3 And he restored the 1,100 pieces of silver to his mother. And his mother said, “I dedicate the silver to the Lord from my hand for my son, to make a carved image and a metal image. Now therefore I will restore it to you.” (2Mo 20,4; 3Mo 19,4) 4 So when he restored the money to his mother, his mother took 200 pieces of silver and gave it to the silversmith, who made it into a carved image and a metal image. And it was in the house of Micah. (Jes 46,6) 5 And the man Micah had a shrine, and he made an ephod and household gods, and ordained^[1] one of his sons, who became his priest. 8 And the man departed from the town of Bethlehem in Judah to sojourn where he could find a place. And as he journeyed, he came to the hill country of Ephraim to the house of Micah. (Jos 24,33) 9 And Micah said to him, “Where do you come from?” And he said to him, “I am a Levite of Bethlehem in Judah, and I am going to sojourn where I may find a place.” 10 And Micah said to him, “Stay with me, and be to me a father and a priest, and I will give you ten pieces of silver a year and a suit of clothes and your living.” And the Levite went in. (Ri 18,19) 11 And the Levite was content to dwell with the man, and the young man became to him like one of his sons. (2Mo 2,21) 12 And Micah ordained the Levite, and the young man became his priest, and was in the house of Micah. (Ri 17,5; Ri 18,30) 13 Then Micah said, “Now I know that the Lord will prosper me, because I have a Levite as priest.”

1 Hubo también un hombre de la serranía de Efraín, cuyo nombre era Micayehu, 2 quien le dijo a su madre: Los mil cien ciclos de plata que te fueron sustraídos, acerca de los cuales proferiste maldición a mis oídos, he aquí, aquella plata está en mi poder. Yo la tomé. Y su madre le dijo: ¡Bendito seas de YHVH, hijo mío! 3 Y él devolvió los mil cien ciclos de plata a su madre, y su madre dijo: En verdad consagro por mi mano esta plata a YHVH, en favor de mi hijo, para que se haga una imagen esculpida, y otra de fundición. Ahora, pues, te la devuelvo. 4 Sin embargo, él devolvió a su madre la plata. Tomando su madre doscientos ciclos de plata, los entregó al fundidor, el cual hizo de ellos una imagen de escultura y otra de fundición, las cuales quedaron en casa de Micayehu. 5 De manera que este hombre, Micah, tuvo un santuario, e hizo un efod y terafines, y consagró a uno de sus hijos para que fuera su sacerdote. 6 En aquellos días no había rey en Israel, y cada uno hacía lo que parecía recto ante sus ojos. 7 Hubo también un joven de Bet-léhem de Judá, de la familia de Judá, el cual era levita, y moraba allí como forastero. 8 Y este hombre había partido de la ciudad de Bet-léhem de Judá para residir como extranjero en donde hallara lugar. Y en su andar por la serranía de Efraín, llegó hasta la casa de Micah. 9 Y le dijo Micah: ¿De dónde vienes? Y le respondió: Soy levita de Bet-léhem de Judá, y voy a residir donde halle lugar. 10 Y Micah le dijo: habita conmigo y me servirás de padre y sacerdote, y te daré diez ciclos de plata por año, un juego de vestidos y tu sustento. Y el levita se quedó. 11 Y el levita aceptó vivir con aquel hombre, y el joven llegó a ser para él como uno de sus hijos. 12 Y Micah consagró al levita, y el joven le sirvió de sacerdote, y se quedó en casa de Micah. 13 Entonces Micah dijo: ¡Ahora sé que YHVH me hará bien, viendo que tengo un levita por sacerdote!

1 C’era un uomo nella regione montuosa di Efraim che si chiamava Mica. 2 Egli disse a sua madre: «I millecento sicli d’argento che ti hanno rubato e a proposito dei quali hai pronunciato una maledizione, e l’hai pronunciata in mia presenza, ecco, li ho io; quel denaro l’avevo preso io». Sua madre disse: «Il Signore ti benedica, figlio mio!» 3 Egli restituì a sua madre i millecento sicli d’argento, e sua madre disse: «Io consacro al Signore, di mano mia, quest’argento a favore di mio figlio, per farne un’immagine scolpita e un’immagine di metallo fuso; e ora te lo rendo». 4 Quando egli ebbe restituito l’argento a sua madre, questa prese duecento sicli e li diede al fonditore, il quale ne fece un’immagine scolpita, di metallo fuso, che fu messa in casa di Mica. 5 Così quest’uomo, Mica, ebbe una casa per gli idoli; fece un efod^[1] e degli idoli domestici^[2] e consacrò uno dei suoi figli, che teneva come sacerdote. 6 In quel tempo non vi era re in Israele; ognuno faceva quello che gli pareva meglio. 7 Vi era un giovane di Betlemme di Giuda, della famiglia di Giuda, il quale era un Levita, e abitava in questo luogo. 8 Quest’uomo partì dalla città di Betlemme di Giuda per cercare un luogo adatto dove stabilirsi; e, cammin facendo, giunse nella regione montuosa di Efraim, alla casa di Mica. 9 Mica gli chiese: «Da dove vieni?» Quello gli rispose: «Sono un Levita di Betlemme di Giuda e vado a stabilirmi dove troverò un luogo adatto». 10 Mica gli disse: «Rimani con me e sii per me padre e sacerdote; ti darò dieci sicli d’argento all’anno, un vestito completo e il vitto». Il Levita entrò. 11 Egli acconsentì a stare con quell’uomo, che trattò il giovane come uno dei suoi figli. 12 Mica consacrò quel Levita; il giovane gli servì da sacerdote e si stabilì in casa sua. 13 Mica disse: «Ora so che il Signore mi farà del bene, perché ho questo Levita come mio sacerdote».
