DAS FÜNFTE BUCH

Danklied der Erlösten

1 Dankt dem HERRN, denn er ist gut, denn seine Huld währt ewig. (Ps 106,1; Ps 118,1; Ps 136,1) 2 So sollen sprechen die vom HERRN Erlösten, die er erlöst hat aus der Hand des Bedrängers. 3 Er hat sie aus den Ländern gesammelt,/ vom Aufgang und vom Untergang, von Norden und vom Meer her. (Jes 43,5) 4 Sie, die umherirrten in der Wüste, im Ödland, und den Weg zur bewohnten Stadt nicht fanden, (5Mo 8,15) 5 die Hunger litten und Durst, denen das Leben dahinschwand. (Jes 49,10) 6 Sie schrien zum HERRN in ihrer Bedrängnis und er entriss sie ihren Nöten, (Ps 50,15) 7 er führte sie auf geraden Wegen, sodass sie zur bewohnten Stadt gelangten. 8 Sie sollen dem HERRN danken für seine Huld, für seine Wundertaten an den Menschen, 9 denn er hat gesättigt die lechzende Kehle und die hungernde Kehle hat er gefüllt mit Gutem. (Jes 55,1; Lk 1,53) 10 Sie, die saßen in Dunkel und Finsternis, gefangen in Elend und Eisen, (Hi 36,8) 11 denn sie hatten sich widersetzt den Worten Gottes und verachtet den Ratschluss des Höchsten, (Ps 106,43; Spr 1,25) 12 da beugte er ihr Herz durch Mühsal, sie stürzten und es gab keinen Helfer. 13 Sie schrien zum HERRN in ihrer Bedrängnis und er rettete sie aus ihren Nöten, 14 er führte sie heraus aus Dunkel und Finsternis und ihre Fesseln zerriss er. (Jes 42,7) 15 Sie sollen dem HERRN danken für seine Huld, für seine Wundertaten an den Menschen, 16 denn er hat zerbrochen die Tore aus Bronze und die Riegel aus Eisen hat er zerschlagen. (Jes 45,2) 17 Sie, die töricht waren auf ihrem sündhaften Wege, niedergebeugt von ihren schweren Vergehen, 18 deren Kehle sich ekelte vor jeder Speise, die nahe waren den Pforten des Todes. (Hi 6,6; Hi 33,20) 19 Sie schrien zum HERRN in ihrer Bedrängnis und er rettete sie aus ihren Nöten, 20 er sandte sein Wort, um sie zu heilen und sie zu befreien aus ihren Gruben. (Mt 8,8; Weis 16,12) 21 Sie sollen dem HERRN danken für seine Huld, für seine Wundertaten an den Menschen, 22 sie sollen ihm Dankopfer weihen, mit Jubel seine Taten verkünden. 23 Sie, die mit Schiffen das Meer befuhren, Handel trieben auf den großen Wassern, (Sir 43,24) 24 die dort schauten die Werke des HERRN, seine Wundertaten in der Tiefe. 25 Er sprach und ließ den Sturmwind aufstehn, der hoch die Wogen türmte, (Jon 1,4) 26 sie stiegen empor zum Himmel, / in die Urtiefen sanken sie hinab, sodass ihre Seele vor Not verzagte, 27 sie wankten und schwankten wie Betrunkene, verschlungen war all ihre Weisheit. (Spr 23,34) 28 Sie schrien zum HERRN in ihrer Bedrängnis und er führte sie heraus aus ihren Nöten, (Jon 1,14) 29 er machte aus dem Sturm ein Säuseln und es schwiegen die Wogen des Meeres. (Ps 65,8; Mt 8,26) 30 Sie freuten sich, dass die Wogen sich legten, und er führte sie zum ersehnten Hafen. 31 Sie sollen dem HERRN danken für seine Huld, für seine Wundertaten an den Menschen, 32 sie sollen ihn rühmen in der Versammlung des Volkes, im Kreis der Alten ihn loben. (Ps 22,23) 33 Er macht Ströme zur dürren Wüste, Oasen zum dürstenden Ödland, (Jes 42,15; Jes 50,2) 34 fruchtbares Land zur salzigen Steppe, wegen der Bosheit seiner Bewohner. (1Mo 19,24; 5Mo 29,22; Sir 39,23) 35 Er macht Wüste zum Wasserteich, verdorrtes Land zu Oasen. (Jes 41,18) 36 Dort ließ er Hungernde wohnen, die eine bewohnte Stadt errichteten, (Hes 36,35) 37 die Felder bestellten, Weinberge pflanzten und reiche Ernte erzielten. (Jes 65,21) 38 Er segnete sie, sodass sie sich gewaltig vermehrten, und ihr Vieh machte er nicht weniger. (5Mo 7,13) 39 Dann aber wurden sie weniger und beugten sich unter der Last von Unheil und Kummer. 40 Er goss Verachtung aus über die Edlen, er ließ sie umherirren in wegloser Wüste. (Hi 12,21) 41 Doch den Armen hob er empor aus dem Elend und machte seine Sippen zahlreich wie eine Herde. (Ps 113,7) 42 Die Redlichen sehn es und freuen sich, doch alle Bosheit muss ihren Mund verschließen. (Hi 5,16; Hi 22,19; Ps 63,12) 43 Wer ist weise, dass er dies alles beachtet? Wer wird die Taten der Huld des HERRN verstehen?

1 Give thanks to the LORD, because he is good. His faithful love continues for ever. 2 Let those who have been set free by the LORD tell their story. He set them free from the power of the enemy. 3 He brought them back from other lands. He brought them back from east and west, from north and south. 4 Some of them wandered in deserts that were dry and empty. They couldn’t find a city where they could make their homes. 5 They were hungry and thirsty. Their lives were slipping away. 6 Then they cried out to the LORD because of their problems. And he saved them from their troubles. 7 He led them straight to a city where they could make their homes. 8 Let them give thanks to the LORD for his faithful love. Let them give thanks for the wonderful things he does for people. 9 He gives those who are thirsty all the water they want. He gives those who are hungry all the good food they can eat. 10 Others lived in the deepest darkness. They suffered as prisoners in iron chains. 11 That’s because they hadn’t obeyed the commands of God. They had refused to follow the plans of the Most High God. 12 So he made them do work that was hard and bitter. They tripped and fell, and there was no one to help them. 13 Then they cried out to the LORD because of their problems. And he saved them from their troubles. 14 He brought them out of the deepest darkness. He broke their chains off. 15 Let them give thanks to the LORD for his faithful love. Let them give thanks for the wonderful things he does for people. 16 He breaks down gates that are made of bronze. He cuts through bars that are made of iron. 17 Others were foolish. They suffered because of their sins. They suffered because they wouldn’t obey the LORD. 18 They refused to eat anything. They came close to passing through the gates of death. 19 Then they cried out to the LORD because of their problems. And he saved them from their troubles. 20 He gave his command and healed them. He saved them from the grave. 21 Let them give thanks to the LORD for his faithful love. Let them give thanks for the wonderful things he does for people. 22 Let them sacrifice thank-offerings. Let them talk about what he has done as they sing with joy. 23 Some people sailed out on the ocean in ships. They traded goods on the mighty waters. 24 They saw the works of the LORD. They saw the wonderful deeds he did on the ocean. 25 He spoke and stirred up a storm. It lifted the waves high. 26 They rose up to the heavens. Then they went down deep into the ocean. In that kind of danger the people’s boldness melted away. 27 They were unsteady like people who have become drunk. They didn’t know what to do. 28 Then they cried out to the LORD because of their problems. And he brought them out of their troubles. 29 He made the storm as quiet as a whisper. The waves of the ocean calmed down. 30 The people were glad when the ocean became calm. Then he guided them to the harbour they were looking for. 31 Let them give thanks to the LORD for his faithful love. Let them give thanks for the wonderful things he does for people. 32 Let them honour him among his people who gather for worship. Let them praise him in the meeting of the elders. 33 He turned rivers into a desert. He turned flowing springs into thirsty ground. 34 He turned land that produced crops into a salty land where nothing could grow. He did it because the people who lived there were evil. 35 He turned the desert into pools of water. He turned the dry and cracked ground into flowing springs. 36 He brought hungry people there to live. They built a city where they could make their homes. 37 They planted fields and vineyards that produced large crops. 38 He blessed the people, and they greatly increased their numbers. He kept their herds from getting smaller. 39 Then the number of God’s people got smaller. They were made humble by trouble, suffering and sorrow. 40 The God who looks down on proud nobles made them wander in a desert where no one lives. 41 But he lifted needy people out of their suffering. He made their families increase like flocks of sheep. 42 Honest people see it and are filled with joy. But no one who is evil has anything to say. 43 Let those who are wise pay attention to these things. Let them think about the loving deeds of the LORD.
