1 Dann segnete Gott Noach und seine Söhne und sprach zu ihnen: Seid fruchtbar, mehrt euch und füllt die Erde! (1Mo 9,28) 2 Furcht und Schrecken vor euch soll sich auf alle Tiere der Erde legen, auf alle Vögel des Himmels, auf alles, was sich auf dem Erdboden regt, und auf alle Fische des Meeres; in eure Hand sind sie gegeben. 3 Alles, was sich regt und lebt, soll euch zur Nahrung dienen. Das alles übergebe ich euch wie die grünen Pflanzen. (1Mo 1,29) 4 Nur Fleisch mit seinem Leben, seinem Blut, dürft ihr nicht essen. (3Mo 3,17; 5Mo 12,23) 5 Wenn aber euer Blut vergossen wird, fordere ich Rechenschaft für jedes eurer Leben. Von jedem Tier fordere ich Rechenschaft und vom Menschen. Für das Leben des Menschen fordere ich Rechenschaft von jedem, der es seinem Bruder nimmt. (1Mo 4,9) 6 Wer Blut eines Menschen vergießt, / um dieses Menschen willen wird auch sein Blut vergossen. / Denn als Bild Gottes / hat er den Menschen gemacht. (1Mo 1,26; 1Mo 5,1) 7 Ihr aber, seid fruchtbar und mehrt euch; regt euch auf der Erde und mehrt euch auf ihr! 8 Dann sprach Gott zu Noach und seinen Söhnen, die bei ihm waren: 9 Ich bin es. Siehe, ich richte meinen Bund auf mit euch und mit euren Nachkommen nach euch (1Mo 6,18) 10 und mit allen Lebewesen bei euch, mit den Vögeln, dem Vieh und allen Wildtieren der Erde bei euch, mit allen, die aus der Arche gekommen sind, mit allen Wildtieren der Erde überhaupt. (Hos 2,20) 11 Ich richte meinen Bund mit euch auf: Nie wieder sollen alle Wesen aus Fleisch vom Wasser der Flut ausgerottet werden; nie wieder soll eine Flut kommen und die Erde verderben. (Jes 54,9) 12 Und Gott sprach: Das ist das Zeichen des Bundes, den ich stifte zwischen mir und euch und den lebendigen Wesen bei euch für alle kommenden Generationen: 13 Meinen Bogen setze ich in die Wolken; er soll das Zeichen des Bundes werden zwischen mir und der Erde. (Hes 1,28) 14 Balle ich Wolken über der Erde zusammen und erscheint der Bogen in den Wolken, (1Mo 8,1) 15 dann gedenke ich des Bundes, der besteht zwischen mir und euch und allen Lebewesen, allen Wesen aus Fleisch, und das Wasser wird nie wieder zur Flut werden, die alle Wesen aus Fleisch verdirbt. 16 Steht der Bogen in den Wolken, so werde ich auf ihn sehen und des ewigen Bundes gedenken zwischen Gott und allen lebenden Wesen, allen Wesen aus Fleisch auf der Erde. 17 Und Gott sprach zu Noach: Dies ist das Zeichen des Bundes, den ich zwischen mir und allen Wesen aus Fleisch auf der Erde aufgerichtet habe.

Der Weinanbau Noachs

18 Die Söhne Noachs, die aus der Arche gekommen waren, sind Sem, Ham und Jafet. Ham ist der Vater Kanaans. 19 Diese drei sind die Söhne Noachs; von ihnen aus verzweigten sich alle Völker der Erde. 20 Noach, ein Ackerbauer, war der Erste, der einen Weinberg pflanzte. 21 Er trank von dem Wein, wurde davon betrunken und entblößte sich drinnen in seinem Zelt. (1Mo 19,30) 22 Ham, der Vater Kanaans, sah die Blöße seines Vaters und erzählte davon draußen seinen beiden Brüdern. 23 Da nahmen Sem und Jafet einen Überwurf; den legten sich beide auf die Schultern, gingen rückwärts und bedeckten die Blöße ihres Vaters. Sie hatten ihr Gesicht abgewandt, sodass sie die Blöße ihres Vaters nicht sahen. 24 Als Noach aus seinem Weinrausch erwachte und erfuhr, was ihm sein jüngster Sohn angetan hatte, 25 sagte er: Verflucht sei Kanaan. / Sklave der Sklaven sei er seinen Brüdern! (1Mo 3,14; 1Mo 4,11) 26 Und weiter sagte er: Gepriesen sei der HERR, der Gott Sems, / Kanaan aber werde sein Sklave. 27 Raum schaffe Gott für Jafet. / In Sems Zelten wohne er, / Kanaan aber werde sein Sklave.

Der Tod Noachs

28 Noach lebte nach der Flut noch dreihundertfünfzig Jahre. 29 Die gesamte Lebenszeit Noachs betrug neunhundertfünfzig Jahre. Dann starb er.

God makes a covenant with Noah

1 Then God blessed Noah and his sons. He said to them, ‘Have children so that there are many of you. Fill the earth. 2 All the land animals will be afraid of you. All the birds in the sky will be afraid of you. Every creature that moves along the ground will be afraid of you. So will every fish in the seas. Every living thing is put under your control. 3 Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. I have already given you the green plants for food. Now I am giving you everything. 4 ‘But you must not eat meat that still has blood in it. 5 I will certainly hold someone accountable if you are murdered. I will even hold animals accountable if they kill you. I will also hold anyone accountable who murders another person. 6 ‘Anyone who murders a human being will be killed by a human being. That is because I have made human beings so that they are like me. 7 Have children so that there will be many of you. Multiply and become many on the earth.’ 8 Then God spoke to Noah and to his sons who were with him. He said, 9 ‘I am now making my covenant with you and with all your children who will be born after you. 10 I am making it also with every living creature that was with you in the ark. I am making my covenant with the birds, the livestock and all the wild animals. I am making it with all the creatures that came out of the ark with you. In fact, I am making it with every living thing on earth. 11 Here is my covenant I am making with you. The waters of a flood will never again destroy all life. A flood will never again destroy the earth.’ 12 God continued, ‘My covenant is between me and you and every living creature with you. It is a covenant for all time to come. Here is the sign of the covenant I am making. 13 I have put my rainbow in the clouds. It will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. 14 Sometimes when I bring clouds over the earth, a rainbow will appear in them. 15 Then I will remember my covenant between me and you and every kind of living creature. The waters will never again become a flood to destroy all life. 16 When the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it. I will remember that my covenant will last for ever. It is a covenant between me and every kind of living creature on earth.’ 17 So God said to Noah, ‘The rainbow is the sign of my covenant. I have made my covenant between me and all life on earth.’

The sons of Noah

18 The sons of Noah who came out of the ark were Shem, Ham and Japheth. Ham was the father of Canaan. 19 The people who were scattered over the earth came from Noah’s three sons. 20 Noah was a man who farmed the land. He decided to plant a field that produced grapes for making wine. 21 When he drank some of the wine, it made him drunk. Then he lay down inside his tent without any clothes on. 22 Ham saw his father naked. Then Ham, the father of Canaan, went outside and told his two brothers. 23 But Shem and Japheth picked up a piece of clothing and laid it across their shoulders. Then they walked backwards into the tent. They covered their father’s body. They turned their faces away because they didn’t want to see their father naked. 24 Then Noah woke up from his sleep that was caused by the wine. He found out what his youngest son had done to him. 25 He said, ‘May a curse be put on Canaan! He will be the lowest of slaves to his brothers.’ 26 Noah also said, ‘May the LORD, the God of Shem, be praised. May Canaan be the slave of Shem. 27 May God add land to Japheth’s territory. May Japheth live in the tents of Shem. And may Canaan be the slave of Japheth.’ 28 After the flood Noah lived 350 years. 29 Noah lived a total of 950 years. And then he died.
