1Da kamen die Pharisäer und Sadduzäer zu Jesus, um ihn zu versuchen. Sie forderten von ihm, ihnen ein Zeichen vom Himmel zu zeigen. (Mt 12,38; Mt 19,3; Mt 22,18; Mk 8,11; Lk 11,16; Joh 6,30)2Er antwortete ihnen: Wenn es Abend wird, sagt ihr: Es kommt schönes Wetter; denn der Himmel ist feuerrot.3Und am Morgen sagt ihr: Heute kommt schlechtes Wetter, denn der Himmel ist feuerrot und trübt sich ein. Das Aussehen des Himmels wisst ihr zu beurteilen, die Zeichen der Zeit aber könnt ihr nicht beurteilen.4Diese böse und treulose Generation fordert ein Zeichen, aber es wird ihr kein anderes gegeben werden als das Zeichen des Jona. Und er ließ sie stehen und ging weg.
Die blinden Jünger
5Und die Jünger fuhren an das andere Ufer. Sie hatten vergessen, Brote mitzunehmen. (Mk 8,14)6Jesus sagte zu ihnen: Gebt Acht und hütet euch vor dem Sauerteig der Pharisäer und Sadduzäer! (Lk 12,1)7Sie aber machten sich untereinander Gedanken und sagten: Wir haben kein Brot mitgenommen.8Als Jesus das merkte, sagte er: Ihr Kleingläubigen, was macht ihr euch darüber Gedanken, dass ihr kein Brot habt?9Begreift ihr noch nicht? Erinnert ihr euch nicht an die fünf Brote für die Fünftausend und wie viele Körbe ihr eingesammelt habt? (Mt 14,20)10Auch nicht an die sieben Brote für die Viertausend und wie viele Körbe ihr eingesammelt habt? (Mt 15,37)11Warum begreift ihr denn nicht, dass ich nicht von Brot gesprochen habe, als ich zu euch sagte: Hütet euch vor dem Sauerteig der Pharisäer und Sadduzäer?12Da verstanden sie, dass er nicht gemeint hatte, sie sollten sich vor dem Sauerteig der Brote hüten, sondern vor der Lehre der Pharisäer und Sadduzäer.
Das Christusbekenntnis des Petrus und die Zusage Jesu
13Als Jesus in das Gebiet von Cäsarea Philippi kam, fragte er seine Jünger und sprach: Für wen halten die Menschen den Menschensohn? (Mk 8,27; Lk 9,18)14Sie sagten: Die einen für Johannes den Täufer, andere für Elija, wieder andere für Jeremia oder sonst einen Propheten. (Mt 14,2; Mk 6,14; Lk 9,7)15Da sagte er zu ihnen: Ihr aber, für wen haltet ihr mich?16Simon Petrus antwortete und sprach: Du bist der Christus, der Sohn des lebendigen Gottes! (Mt 14,33; Joh 1,49; Joh 11,27)17Jesus antwortete und sagte zu ihm: Selig bist du, Simon Barjona; denn nicht Fleisch und Blut haben dir das offenbart, sondern mein Vater im Himmel.18Ich aber sage dir: Du bist Petrus und auf diesen Felsen werde ich meine Kirche bauen und die Pforten der Unterwelt werden sie nicht überwältigen.[1] (Joh 1,42)19Ich werde dir die Schlüssel des Himmelreichs geben; was du auf Erden binden wirst, das wird im Himmel gebunden sein, und was du auf Erden lösen wirst, das wird im Himmel gelöst sein. (Mt 18,18; Joh 20,23)20Dann befahl er den Jüngern, niemandem zu sagen, dass er der Christus sei.
Die erste Ankündigung von Leiden und Auferstehung Jesu
21Von da an begann Jesus, seinen Jüngern zu erklären: Er müsse nach Jerusalem gehen und von den Ältesten und Hohepriestern und Schriftgelehrten vieles erleiden, er müsse getötet und am dritten Tag auferweckt werden. (Mt 17,22; Mt 20,17; Mk 8,31; Lk 9,22)22Da nahm ihn Petrus beiseite und begann, ihn zurechtzuweisen, und sagte: Das soll Gott verhüten, Herr! Das darf nicht mit dir geschehen!23Jesus aber wandte sich um und sagte zu Petrus: Tritt hinter mich, du Satan! Ein Ärgernis bist du mir, denn du hast nicht das im Sinn, was Gott will, sondern was die Menschen wollen. (Mt 4,10)
Nachfolge und Selbstverleugnung
24Darauf sagte Jesus zu seinen Jüngern: Wenn einer hinter mir hergehen will, verleugne er sich selbst, nehme sein Kreuz auf sich und folge mir nach. (Mt 10,38; Mk 8,34; Lk 9,23; Lk 14,27)25Denn wer sein Leben retten will, wird es verlieren; wer aber sein Leben um meinetwillen verliert, wird es finden. (Mt 10,39; Lk 17,33; Joh 12,25)26Was nützt es einem Menschen, wenn er die ganze Welt gewinnt, dabei aber sein Leben einbüßt? Um welchen Preis kann ein Mensch sein Leben zurückkaufen?27Der Menschensohn wird mit seinen Engeln in der Herrlichkeit seines Vaters kommen und dann wird er jedem nach seinen Taten vergelten.28Amen, ich sage euch: Von denen, die hier stehen, werden einige den Tod nicht schmecken, bis sie den Menschensohn in seinem Reich kommen sehen.

Chcąc wystawić Go na próbę, poprosili, by pokazał im jakiś nadzwyczajny znak na niebie.2—Gdy zapada wieczór—odparł Jezus—mówicie: Jutro będzie pogoda, bo niebo jest czerwone.3A z rana mówicie: Niebo jest czerwone i zachmurzone, będzie burza. Trafnie prognozujecie pogodę po wyglądzie nieba, ale znaków czasu nie potraficie rozpoznać!4To złe i niewierne Bogu pokolenie domaga się cudu. Ale nie zobaczy go—z wyjątkiem znaku proroka Jonasza. I zostawił ich samych.
Ostrzeżenie przed faryzeuszami i saduceuszami
5Płynąc na drugi brzeg, uczniowie zorientowali się, że zapomnieli dokupić chleba.6—Bądźcie ostrożni i wystrzegajcie się kwasu faryzeuszy i saduceuszy—ostrzegł ich Jezus.7Ale oni mówili między sobą: —No właśnie, zapomnieliśmy chleba.8—Gdzie jest wasza wiara!—odezwał się Jezus, bo wiedział, o czym rozmawiają. —Czemu martwicie się o chleb?9Niczego nie zrozumieliście? Wyznanie Piotra
13Po przybyciu na tereny Cezarei Filipowej Jezus zadał uczniom następujące pytanie: —Za kogo Mnie, Syna Człowieczego, uważają ludzie?14—Jedni sądzą, że jesteś Janem Chrzcicielem—odrzekli uczniowie—inni, że Eliaszem, jeszcze inni, że Jeremiaszem albo innym prorokiem.15—A wy? Za kogo Mnie uważacie?—zapytał ich wprost.16—Jesteś Mesjaszem, Synem żywego Boga—odpowiedział Szymon Piotr.17—Szczęśliwy jesteś Szymonie, synu Jana—odrzekł mu Jezus—bo nie doszedłeś do tego ludzkim rozumowaniem, ale objawił ci to mój Ojciec w niebie.18Dlatego mówię ci: Ty jesteś Piotr—skała—i na tej skale zbuduję mój Kościół. A bramy piekła nie powstrzymają go.19I dam ci klucze do królestwa niebieskiego: Cokolwiek postanowisz na ziemi, będzie postanowione w niebie. A co rozstrzygniesz na ziemi, i będzie rozstrzygnięte w niebie!20Nakazał jednak uczniom, by nikomu nie mówili, że jest Mesjaszem.
Jezus zapowiada swoją śmierć
21Od tego czasu Jezus zaczął wyraźnie mówić im, że musi pójść do Jerozolimy, że spotkają Go tam straszne cierpienia z rąk starszych, najwyższych kapłanów i przywódców religijnych, że zostanie zabity, ale że trzeciego dnia zmartwychwstanie.22Wtedy Piotr wziął Go na bok i zaczął upominać: —Ależ Panie! Nie może Cię to spotkać!23—Precz, szatanie!—odrzekł Jezus, odwracając się. —Przeszkadzasz mi, bo patrzysz na to jedynie z ludzkiego punktu widzenia i nie jesteś w stanie zrozumieć Bożych planów.
Naśladowanie Jezusa
24Potem zwrócił się do uczniów: —Jeśli ktoś chce Mnie naśladować, niech przestanie myśleć wyłącznie o sobie. Niech weźmie swój krzyż i idzie ze Mną.25Jeśli ktoś chce wygrać życie, przegra je. Ale kto przegra życie ze względu na Mnie, naprawdę je wygra.26Co z tego, że ktoś zdobędzie cały świat, jeśli po drodze zatraci życie? Czy dla człowieka istnieje coś cenniejszego niż on sam?27Ja, Syn Człowieczy, powrócę tu z aniołami, otoczony chwałą Ojca, i wtedy osądzę każdego na podstawie jego czynów.28Zapewniam was: Niektórzy z obecnych tu, jeszcze za swego życia zobaczą Mnie, Syna Człowieczego, nadchodzącego ze swoim królestwem.
