Psalm 82

(Ps 67,5)

1 God has taken his place in the divine council; in the midst of the gods he holds judgment: (1Sam 28,13; 2Chr 19,5; 2Chr 19,6; Ps 58,11; Pred 5,8; Jes 3,13) 2 “How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked? (Ps 10,18; Ps 41,1; Jer 22,3) 4 Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.” (Hi 29,12; Spr 24,11) 5 They have neither knowledge nor understanding, they walk about in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken. (Ps 10,6; Ps 11,3; Spr 2,13; Mi 3,1) 6 I said, “You are gods, sons of the Most High, all of you; (Ps 82,1; Joh 10,34) 7 nevertheless, like men you shall die, and fall like any prince.”[1] (Hi 21,32; Ps 49,12; Hes 28,2; Hes 31,14) 8 Arise, O God, judge the earth; for you shall inherit all the nations!
