1Wieder erhob ich meine Augen und ich sah: Siehe da, vier Wagen zogen zwischen zwei Bergen aus, die Berge aber waren aus Bronze.2Am ersten Wagen waren rote Pferde, am zweiten Wagen schwarze Pferde, (Sach 1,8; Offb 6,2)3am dritten Wagen weiße Pferde und am vierten Wagen gescheckte Pferde, alles starke Tiere.4Darauf fragte ich den Engel, der mit mir redete: Was bedeuten diese, mein Herr?5Der Engel gab mir zur Antwort: Das sind die vier Winde des Himmels, die ausziehen, nachdem sie vor dem Herrn der ganzen Erde gestanden haben.6Die schwarzen Pferde - der Wagen, an dem sie sind - ziehen aus in das Land des Nordens, die weißen sind hinter ihnen hergezogen und die gescheckten sind in das Land des Südens gezogen.7Die starken Tiere zogen aus, begierig, die Erde zu durchstreifen. Da sagte er: Geht hin, durchstreift die Erde! Und sie durchstreiften die Erde.8Und er rief mir zu und sprach zu mir: Sieh, jene, die in das Land des Nordens ziehen, sie bringen meinen Geist über das Land des Nordens.
Symbolische Krönung des Hohepriesters und der königliche Spross
9Das Wort des HERRN erging an mich:10Nimm von denen, die aus dem Exil heimkehren, von Heldai, Tobija und Jedaja, entgegen und komm selbst an diesem Tag, komm in das Haus Joschijas, des Sohnes Zefanjas, die aus Babel zurückgekommen sind:11Nimm Silber und Gold, mach eine Krone, setze sie dem Hohepriester Jehoschua, dem Sohn des Jozadak, aufs Haupt (Sach 3,1)12und sag zu ihm: So spricht der HERR der Heerscharen: Sieh da, ein Mann, Spross ist sein Name; von dort, wo er steht, wird es sprossen und er wird den Tempel des HERRN bauen. (Jer 23,5; Sach 3,8)13Er ist es, der den Tempel des HERRN bauen wird. Er ist mit Hoheit bekleidet und wird auf seinem Thron sitzen und herrschen. Und auch ein Priester wird auf seinem Thron sein und friedvolles Einvernehmen wird zwischen ihnen beiden sein.14Die Krone aber soll zur Erinnerung an Heldai, Tobija, Jedaja und an das Wohlwollen des Sohnes Zefanjas im Tempel des HERRN bleiben.[1]15Aus der Ferne werden sie kommen und am Tempel des HERRN bauen. Dann werdet ihr erkennen, dass mich der HERR der Heerscharen zu euch gesandt hat. Das wird geschehen, wenn ihr beharrlich auf die Stimme des HERRN, eures Gottes, hört.

(Ps 104,4; Sach 3,4; Sach 4,14; Hebr 1,7)6The chariot with the black horses goes toward the north country, the white ones go after them, and the dappled ones go toward the south country.” (Jer 1,13; Sach 2,6; Sach 6,8; Sach 9,14)7When the strong horses came out, they were impatient to go and patrol the earth. And he said, “Go, patrol the earth.” So they patrolled the earth. (Sach 1,10)8Then he cried to me, “Behold, those who go toward the north country have set my Spirit at rest in the north country.” (Sach 6,6)
The Crown and the Temple
9And the word of the Lord came to me:10“Take from the exiles Heldai, Tobijah, and Jedaiah, who have arrived from Babylon, and go the same day to the house of Josiah, the son of Zephaniah. (2Kön 25,18; Neh 7,39; Sach 6,14)11Take from them silver and gold, and make a crown, and set it on the head of Joshua, the son of Jehozadak, the high priest. (Sach 3,1; Sach 3,5)12And say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts, “Behold, the man whose name is the Branch: for he shall branch out from his place, and he shall build the temple of the Lord. (Sach 3,8; Mt 16,18; Eph 2,20; Hebr 3,3)13It is he who shall build the temple of the Lord and shall bear royal honor, and shall sit and rule on his throne. And there[2] shall be a priest on his throne, and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.”’ (Ps 21,5; Ps 110,4; Hes 21,27; Hag 2,9; Sach 6,12; Hebr 3,1)14And the crown shall be in the temple of the Lord as a reminder to Helem,[3] Tobijah, Jedaiah, and Hen the son of Zephaniah.
