Psalm 112

English Standard Version

1 [1] Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who greatly delights in his commandments! (Ps 1:2; Ps 104:35; Ps 111:10; Ps 115:13; Ps 128:1; Ps 128:4)2 His offspring will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed. (Ps 25:13; Ps 37:26; Ps 102:28; Pr 11:21; Pr 20:7)3 Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endures forever. (Ps 111:3; Pr 3:16)4 Light dawns in the darkness for the upright; he is gracious, merciful, and righteous. (Job 11:17; Ps 97:11; Mt 1:19)5 It is well with the man who deals generously and lends; who conducts his affairs with justice. (Ps 37:26)6 For the righteous will never be moved; he will be remembered forever. (Ps 55:22; Pr 10:7)7 He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord. (Ps 11:1; Ps 57:7; Ps 64:10; Pr 1:33)8 His heart is steady;[2] he will not be afraid, until he looks in triumph on his adversaries.9 He has distributed freely; he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever; his horn is exalted in honor. (Ps 75:10; 2Co 9:9)10 The wicked man sees it and is angry; he gnashes his teeth and melts away; the desire of the wicked will perish! (Job 8:13; Job 16:9; Ps 58:8; Mt 8:12; Lu 13:28)
