Great Is the Lord

1 Of David. Contend, O Lord, with those who contend with me; fight against those who fight against me! (Ex 14:25; Isa 42:13; Isa 49:25) 2 Take hold of shield and buckler and rise for my help! (Ps 5:12; Ps 91:4) 3 Draw the spear and javelin^[1] against my pursuers! Say to my soul, “I am your salvation!” 4 Let them be put to shame and dishonor who seek after my life! Let them be turned back and disappointed who devise evil against me! (Ps 35:26; Ps 40:14; Ps 69:22; Ps 70:2; Ps 71:13; Ps 83:17; Ps 109:6; Ps 129:5)

5 Let them be like chaff before the wind, with the angel of the Lord driving them away! (Job 21:18) 6 Let their way be dark and slippery, with the angel of the Lord pursuing them! 24 Vindicate me, O Lord, my God, according to your righteousness, and let them not rejoice over me! Utançla geri çekilsin bana kötülük düşünenler! 5 Rüzgarın sürüklediği saman çöpüne dönsünler, RAB'bin meleği artlarına düşsün! 6 Karanlık ve kaygan olsun yolları, RAB'bin meleği kovalasın onları! 7 Madem neden yokken bana gizli ağlar kurdular, Nedensiz çukur kazdılar, 8 Başlarına habersiz felaket gelsin, Gizledikleri ağa kendileri tutulsun, Felakete uğrasınlar. 9 O zaman RAB'de sevinç bulacağım, Beni kurtardığı için coşacağım. 10 Bütün varlığımla şöyle diyeceğim: ‹‹Senin gibisi var mı, ya RAB, Mazlumu zorbanın elinden, Mazlumu ve yoksulu soyguncudan kurtaran?›› 11 Kötü niyetli tanıklar türüyor, Bilmediğim konuları soruyorlar. 12 İyiliğime karşı kötülük ediyor, Yalnızlığa itiyorlar beni. 13-14 Oysa onlar hastalanınca ben çula sarınır, Oruç tutup alçakgönüllü olurdum. Kederden belim bükülürdü, Annesi için yas tutan biri gibi. 15 Ama ben sendeleyince toplanıp sevindiler, Toplandı bana karşı tanımadığım alçaklar, Durmadan didiklediler beni. 16 Tanrıtanımaz, alaycı soytarılar gibi, Diş gıcırdattılar bana. 17 Ne zamana dek seyirci kalacaksın, ya Rab?
