1 Why do the nations rage[1] and the peoples plot in vain? (Ps 46:6; Ac 4:25) 2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against his Anointed, saying, (Ps 18:50; Ps 20:6; Ps 45:7; Ps 89:20) 3 “Let us burst their bonds apart and cast away their cords from us.” (Jer 5:5) 4 He who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord holds them in derision. (Job 22:19; Ps 11:4; Ps 29:10; Ps 37:13; Ps 59:8; Pr 1:26; Isa 40:22) 5 Then he will speak to them in his wrath, and terrify them in his fury, saying, (Re 6:16) 6 “As for me, I have set my King on Zion, my holy hill.” (2Sa 5:7; Ps 3:4; Ps 15:1; Ps 43:3; Ps 99:9; Ps 110:2; Pr 8:23) 7 I will tell of the decree: The Lord said to me, “You are my Son; today I have begotten you. (Ac 13:33; Ro 1:4; Heb 1:5; Heb 5:5) 8 Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage, and the ends of the earth your possession. (Ps 72:8; Ps 89:27; Da 7:14) 9 You shall break[2] them with a rod of iron and dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.” (Job 34:24; Ps 89:23; Isa 30:14; Jer 19:11; Re 2:27; Re 12:5; Re 19:15) 10 Now therefore, O kings, be wise; be warned, O rulers of the earth. 11 Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. 1 Warum toben die Heiden[1] und ersinnen die Völker Nichtiges? (Ac 4:25; Ro 11:11) 2 Die Könige der Erde lehnen sich auf, und die Fürsten verabreden sich gegen den HERRN und gegen seinen Gesalbten[2]: (Ps 45:7; Da 9:25; Hab 3:13; Joh 1:41) 3 »Lasst uns ihre Bande zerreißen und ihre Fesseln von uns werfen!« (Mt 21:38; Lu 19:14) 4 Der im Himmel thront, lacht; der Herr spottet über sie. (Ps 11:4; Ps 47:8; Ps 59:9) 5 Dann wird er zu ihnen reden in seinem Zorn und sie schrecken mit seinem Grimm: (Joe 4:16; Zep 1:15; Mt 22:7) 6 »Ich habe meinen König eingesetzt auf Zion, meinem heiligen Berg!« — (1Ti 6:15; Heb 12:22; Re 14:1) 7 Ich will den Ratschluss des HERRN verkünden; er hat zu mir gesagt: »Du bist mein Sohn, heute habe ich dich gezeugt. (Mt 3:17; Lu 1:32; Ac 13:33; Heb 1:5; Heb 5:5) 8 Erbitte von mir, so will ich dir die Heidenvölker zum Erbe geben und die Enden der Erde zu deinem Eigentum. (Isa 49:6; Da 7:14) 9 Du sollst sie mit eisernem Zepter zerschmettern, wie Töpfergeschirr sie zerschmeißen!« (Da 2:44; Re 2:27) 10 So nehmt nun Verstand an, ihr Könige, und lasst euch warnen, ihr Richter der Erde! (Isa 40:23) 11 Dient dem HERRN mit Furcht und frohlockt mit Zittern. (Heb 11:7; Heb 12:28; 1Pe 1:17) 12 Küsst den Sohn,[3] damit er nicht zornig wird und ihr nicht umkommt auf dem Weg; denn wie leicht kann sein Zorn entbrennen! Wohl allen, die sich bergen bei ihm! (Pr 16:20; Lu 19:27; Joh 5:23; Joh 6:37; Re 6:17; Re 14:10; Re 14:19)
