1[1] Guard your steps when you go to the house of God. To draw near to listen is better than to offer the sacrifice of fools, for they do not know that they are doing evil. The Vanity of Wealth and Honor
8If you see in a province the oppression of the poor and the violation of justice and righteousness, do not be amazed at the matter, for the high official is watched by a higher, and there are yet higher ones over them. (Ps 12:5; Ps 58:11; Ps 82:1; Ec 3:16; Ec 4:1; 1Pe 4:12)9But this is gain for a land in every way: a king committed to cultivated fields.[7]10He who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor he who loves wealth with his income; this also is vanity.11When goods increase, they increase who eat them, and what advantage has their owner but to see them with his eyes?12Sweet is the sleep of a laborer, whether he eats little or much, but the full stomach of the rich will not let him sleep.13There is a grievous evil that I have seen under the sun: riches were kept by their owner to his hurt, (Ec 6:1)14and those riches were lost in a bad venture. And he is father of a son, but he has nothing in his hand.15As he came from his mother’s womb he shall go again, naked as he came, and shall take nothing for his toil that he may carry away in his hand. (Job 1:21)16This also is a grievous evil: just as he came, so shall he go, and what gain is there to him who toils for the wind? Reichtum bringt keine Sicherheit
9Wer Geld liebt, bekommt vom Geld nicht genug, und wer Reichtum liebt, nicht vom Gewinn. Auch das ist nichtig! (Job 31:24; Ps 52:9; Ps 62:11; Ec 4:8; Ec 6:7; Lu 12:15; 1Ti 6:9)10Wo viele Güter sind, da sind auch viele, die davon zehren, und was hat ihr Besitzer mehr davon als eine Augenweide? (1Ki 5:2; Ne 5:17)11Süß ist der Schlaf des Arbeiters, ob er nun wenig oder viel isst; aber den Reichen lässt seine Übersättigung nicht schlafen. (Ps 4:9; Ps 127:2; Pr 3:24; Jer 51:39; Jer 51:57)12Es gibt ein böses Übel, das ich gesehen habe unter der Sonne: Reichtum, der von seinem Besitzer zu seinem Schaden aufbewahrt wird. (Ec 5:9)13Geht solcher Reichtum durch einen Unglücksfall verloren und hat der Betreffende einen Sohn gezeugt, so bleibt diesem gar nichts in der Hand. (Pr 23:4; Mt 6:19; Jas 5:1)14So nackt, wie er aus dem Leib seiner Mutter gekommen ist, geht er wieder dahin, und er kann gar nichts für seine Mühe mitnehmen, das er in seiner Hand davontragen könnte. (Job 1:21; Ps 49:18; 1Ti 6:7)15Das ist auch ein böses Übel, dass er gerade so, wie er gekommen ist, wieder gehen muss; und was bleibt ihm davon, dass er sich um Wind abgemüht hat? (Pr 2:22; Pr 11:29; Ho 12:2)16Dazu muss er alle seine Tage [sein Brot] in Finsternis essen und hat viel Ärger, Leiden und Zorn. (Ge 3:17; Job 5:6)17Siehe, was ich für gut und für schön ansehe, ist das, dass einer esse und trinke und Gutes genieße bei all seiner Arbeit, womit er sich abmüht unter der Sonne alle Tage seines Lebens, die Gott ihm gibt; denn das ist sein Teil. (Ec 2:24; Ec 3:12; Ec 8:15)18Auch wenn Gott irgendeinem Menschen Reichtum und Schätze gibt und ihm gestattet, davon zu genießen und sein Teil zu nehmen und sich zu freuen in seiner Mühe, so ist das eine Gabe Gottes.
