(Ps 80:17)22The enemy shall not outwit him; the wicked shall not humble him. (2Sa 7:10)23I will crush his foes before him and strike down those who hate him. (2Sa 7:9; Ps 2:9)24My faithfulness and my steadfast love shall be with him, and in my name shall his horn be exalted. (Job 14:12; Ps 89:4)30If his children forsake my law and do not walk according to my rules,[5] (2Sa 7:14; 1Ki 2:4)31if they violate my statutes and do not keep my commandments,32then I will punish their transgression with the rod and their iniquity with stripes, (Job 9:34)33but I will not remove from him my steadfast love or be false to my faithfulness.34I will not violate my covenant or alter the word that went forth from my lips. (Ps 89:28)35Once for all I have sworn by my holiness; I will not lie to David. (Ps 60:6; Heb 6:18)36His offspring shall endure forever, his throne as long as the sun before me. (Ps 72:5; Ps 89:4; Ps 89:29)37Like the moon it shall be established forever, a faithful witness in the skies.” (Job 16:19; Ps 89:36)38But now you have cast off and rejected; you are full of wrath against your anointed. (Ps 44:9; Ps 89:20; Ps 89:51)39You have renounced the covenant with your servant; you have defiled his crown in the dust. (Job 19:9; Ps 74:7; Ps 89:3; La 2:7)40You have breached all his walls; you have laid his strongholds in ruins. (Ps 80:12)41All who pass by plunder him; he has become the scorn of his neighbors. (Ps 44:13; Ps 69:9; Ps 69:19; Ps 89:40; Ps 89:50)42You have exalted the right hand of his foes; you have made all his enemies rejoice.43You have also turned back the edge of his sword, and you have not made him stand in battle.44You have made his splendor to cease and cast his throne to the ground.45You have cut short the days of his youth; you have covered him with shame. (Ps 71:13; Ps 102:23; Ps 109:29)46How long, O Lord? Will you hide yourself forever? How long will your wrath burn like fire? (Ps 13:1; Ps 78:63; Ps 79:5)47Remember how short my time is! For what vanity you have created all the children of man! (Job 7:7; Job 10:9; Job 14:1; Ps 39:5)48What man can live and never see death? Who can deliver his soul from the power of Sheol? (Ps 16:10; Ps 49:9; Lu 2:26; Heb 11:5)49Lord, where is your steadfast love of old, which by your faithfulness you swore to David? (Ps 89:1)50Remember, O Lord, how your servants are mocked, and how I bear in my heart the insults[6] of all the many nations, (Ps 74:18; Ps 74:22; Ps 79:12; Ps 89:41)51with which your enemies mock, O Lord, with which they mock the footsteps of your anointed. 1ای خداوند، رحمت تو را همواره خواهم ستود و با زبان خود پيوسته از وفاداری تو سخن خواهم گفت،2زيرا رحمت تو هميشگی است و وفاداری تو چون آسمانها پايدار است.3-4تو با خادم برگزيدهات داوود عهد بستهای و وعده كردهای كه تخت سلطنت او را تا ابد، نسل اندر نسل، پايدار خواهی داشت.5ای خداوند، آسمانها از كارهای شگفتانگيز تو تعريف میكنند و امانت و وفاداری تو را میستايند.6در آسمانها كيست كه با تو برابری كند؟ در ميان موجودات آسمانی چه كسی را میتوان به تو تشبيه كرد؟7تو در ميان مقدسين مورد ستايش هستی؛ آنان با ترس و احترام گرداگرد تو ايستادهاند.8ای خداوند قادر متعال، كيست مانند تو؟ تو در قدرت و امانت بینظيری!9بر امواج درياها مسلط هستی و طغيان آنها را آرام میگردانی.10تو مصر را در هم كوبيدی و با دست توانای خود دشمنانت را تار و مار ساختی.11آسمانها و زمين و هر آنچه در آنهاست از آن تو میباشند؛ زيرا تو آنها را آفريدهای.12شمال و جنوب را تو بوجود آوردهای. كوههای تابور و حرمون، مظهر قدرت تو میباشند.13دست تو بسيار تواناست. تو خدای متعال هستی.14فرمانروايی تو بر اساس عدل و انصاف است. در تمام كارهايت رحمت و راستی مشاهده میشود.15خوشا به حال مردمی كه میدانند چگونه تو را تحسين و تمجيد كنند، زيرا آنها در نور حضورت راه خواهند رفت.16آنها تمام روز به نام تو شادی میكنند و به سبب عدالت تو سربلند میباشند.17تو به ما قدرت میبخشی و به لطف خويش ما را پيروز و سرافراز میگردانی.18ای خداوند، تو از ما حمايت كردی؛ ای خدای مقدس اسرائيل، تو به ما پادشاه بخشيدی.
وعدهٔ خدا به داوود
19-20خداوندا، در عالم رويا با نبی خود سخن گفتی و فرمودی: «در ميان اسرائيل جوانی را برگزيدهام و او را سرافراز نمودهام تا پادشاه شود؛ او بندهٔ من داوود است!21او را پايدار و توانا خواهم ساخت.22دشمنانش بر او چيره نخواهند شد و گزندی از مخالفانش به او نخواهد رسيد.23در برابر چشمان وی بدخواهانش را از بين خواهم برد و آنانی را كه از او نفرت داشته باشند هلاک خواهم نمود.24پيوسته از وفاداری و رحمت من برخوردار خواهد بود و من او را پيروز و سرافراز خواهم ساخت.25قلمرو فرمانروايی او را از دريای بزرگ تا رود فرات وسعت خواهم بخشيد.26او مرا پدر خود و خدا و صخرهٔ نجات خويش خواهد خواند.27من نيز با او چون نخستزادهٔ خويش رفتار خواهم كرد و او را برتر از تمام پادشاهان جهان خواهم ساخت.28رحمت خود را هرگز از او دريغ نخواهم داشت، زيرا عهد من با او عهدی دائمی میباشد.29نسل او را تا ابد باقی خواهم گذاشت و سلطنت او جاودانی خواهد بود.30-32«اما اگر فرزندانش از دستورات من سرپيچی كنند و احكام مرا بشكنند، آنگاه ايشان را تنبيه خواهم نمود.33با اين حال آنها را از رحمت خود محروم نخواهم كرد و نسبت به قولی كه دادهام، وفادار خواهم ماند.34آری، عهد خود را نخواهم شكست و آنچه را كه گفتهام تغيير نخواهم داد.35-36يک بار به داوود به نام مقدس خود وعده دادم و هرگز آن را باطل نخواهم كرد كه نسل او تا ابد باقی خواهد ماند و سلطنت وی تا زمانی كه خورشيد بدرخشد دوام خواهد داشت37و مانند ماه كه شاهد باوفايی در آسمان است، پايدار خواهد بود.»
سوگواری برای شكست پادشاه
38اما ای خداوند، تو بر پادشاه برگزيدهٔ خود غضبناكی و او را ترک كردهای.39آيا عهد خود را با بندهٔ خويش باطل نمودهای؟ تو تاج او را بر زمين انداختهای و آن را بیحرمت ساختهای!40حصار شهر او را شكستهای و قلعههايش را خراب كردهای.41هر كه از راه میرسد اموال او را غارت میكند. او نزد همسايگان خود رسوا شده است.42دشمنانش را بر او پيروز ساختهای.43شمشير او را كند كردهای. در جنگ او را كمک نكردهای.44تخت سلطنتش را واژگون ساخته، به شكوه و عظمتش خاتمه دادهای.45پيری زودرس به سراغش فرستادهای و نزد همه رسوايش كردهای.
دعای رستگاری
46ای خداوند، تا به كی روی خود را پنهان میكنی؟ آيا تا ابد غضب تو چون آتش افروخته خواهد بود؟47به ياد آور كه عمر انسان چقدر كوتاه است. تو همهٔ انسانها را فناپذير آفريدهای.48كيست كه بتواند نميرد و تا ابد زنده بماند؟49ای خداوند، كجاست رحمتهای گذشتهٔ تو؟ كجاست وعدهٔ رحمت تو كه در نهايت وفاداری به داوود دادی؟50ببين مردم چگونه مرا ملامت میكنند. بار ملامتهای ايشان را بر دوش میكشم.51دشمنانت پادشاه برگزيدهات را ريشخند میكنند و هر جا پای مینهد او را ملامت مینمايند.52شكر و سپاس بر نام خداوند تا ابد! آمين! آمين!
