1That same day Jesus went out of the house and sat beside the sea. (Mr 4:1; Lu 8:4)2And great crowds gathered about him, so that he got into a boat and sat down. And the whole crowd stood on the beach. (Mr 3:9; Lu 5:1)3And he told them many things in parables, saying: “A sower went out to sow. (Isa 55:10; Am 9:13; Mt 13:34)4And as he sowed, some seeds fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured them.5Other seeds fell on rocky ground, where they did not have much soil, and immediately they sprang up, since they had no depth of soil,6but when the sun rose they were scorched. And since they had no root, they withered away. (Joh 15:6; Jas 1:11)7Other seeds fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked them. The Purpose of the Parables
10Then the disciples came and said to him, “Why do you speak to them in parables?”11And he answered them, “To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. (Mt 11:25; Mt 19:11; Ro 16:25; 1Co 2:6; Col 1:27; 1Jo 2:20; 1Jo 2:27)12For to the one who has, more will be given, and he will have an abundance, but from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. (Mt 25:29; Mr 4:25; Lu 8:18; Lu 19:26; Joh 15:2; Jas 4:6; Re 2:5)13This is why I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand. (De 29:4; Isa 42:19; Jer 5:21; Eze 12:2; Mt 13:19; Mt 13:51; Mt 15:10; Mt 16:12; Mr 8:21; Ro 11:8; 2Co 3:14; 2Co 4:4)14Indeed, in their case the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled that says: “‘“You will indeed hear but never understand, and you will indeed see but never perceive.” (Isa 6:9; Joh 12:40; Ac 28:26)15For this people’s heart has grown dull, and with their ears they can barely hear, and their eyes they have closed, lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their heart and turn, and I would heal them.’ (Lu 22:32; Joh 9:39; Joh 9:41; Ro 10:10; Heb 5:11)16But blessed are your eyes, for they see, and your ears, for they hear. (Mt 16:17; Lu 10:23)17For truly, I say to you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it. (Mt 13:16; Joh 8:56; Heb 11:13; 1Pe 1:10)
The Parable of the Sower Explained
18“Hear then the parable of the sower: (Mr 4:13; Lu 8:11)19When anyone hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what has been sown in his heart. This is what was sown along the path. (Mt 4:23; Mt 8:12; Mt 13:13; Mt 13:38; Joh 17:15; Eph 6:16; 2Th 3:3; 1Jo 2:13; 1Jo 3:12; 1Jo 5:18)20As for what was sown on rocky ground, this is the one who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy, (Isa 58:2; Eze 33:31; Mr 6:20; Joh 5:35)21yet he has no root in himself, but endures for a while, and when tribulation or persecution arises on account of the word, immediately he falls away.[2] (Ho 6:4; Mt 11:6; Ga 1:6; Ga 5:7)22As for what was sown among thorns, this is the one who hears the word, but the cares of the world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and it proves unfruitful. (Mt 6:25; Mt 19:23; Mr 10:23; Ac 5:1; 1Ti 6:9; 1Ti 6:17; 2Ti 4:10; Heb 3:13)23As for what was sown on good soil, this is the one who hears the word and understands it. He indeed bears fruit and yields, in one case a hundredfold, in another sixty, and in another thirty.” (Ho 14:8; Mt 13:8; Mt 13:19; Joh 15:5; Joh 15:16; Php 1:11; Col 1:6)
The Parable of the Weeds
24He put another parable before them, saying, “The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a man who sowed good seed in his field, (Mt 13:37; Mr 4:26)25but while his men were sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds[3] among the wheat and went away.26So when the plants came up and bore grain, then the weeds appeared also.27And the servants[4] of the master of the house came and said to him, ‘Master, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have weeds?’28He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ So the servants said to him, ‘Then do you want us to go and gather them?’29But he said, ‘No, lest in gathering the weeds you root up the wheat along with them. (1Co 4:5)30Let both grow together until the harvest, and at harvest time I will tell the reapers, “Gather the weeds first and bind them in bundles to be burned, but gather the wheat into my barn.”’” (Mt 3:12)
The Mustard Seed and the Leaven
31He put another parable before them, saying, “The kingdom of heaven is like a grain of mustard seed that a man took and sowed in his field. (Mt 17:20; Mr 4:30; Lu 13:18; Lu 17:6)32It is the smallest of all seeds, but when it has grown it is larger than all the garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and make nests in its branches.”33He told them another parable. “The kingdom of heaven is like leaven that a woman took and hid in three measures of flour, till it was all leavened.” (Ge 18:6; Lu 13:20; 1Co 5:6; Ga 5:9)
36Then he left the crowds and went into the house. And his disciples came to him, saying, “Explain to us the parable of the weeds of the field.” (Mt 13:1; Mt 13:24; Mt 15:15)37He answered, “The one who sows the good seed is the Son of Man.38The field is the world, and the good seed is the sons of the kingdom. The weeds are the sons of the evil one, (Mt 13:19; Mt 13:43; Mt 23:15; Joh 8:44; Ac 13:10; 1Jo 3:10)39and the enemy who sowed them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are angels. (Da 12:13; Joe 3:13; Mt 13:49; Mt 24:3; Mt 28:20; Heb 9:26; Re 14:15)40Just as the weeds are gathered and burned with fire, so will it be at the end of the age. (Mt 3:12; Mt 13:39; Joh 15:6)41The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will gather out of his kingdom all causes of sin and all law-breakers, (Zep 1:3; Mt 7:23; Mt 18:7; Mt 24:31)42and throw them into the fiery furnace. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. (Mt 8:12; Mt 13:50; Re 9:2; Re 19:20; Re 20:10)43Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear. (Pr 4:18; Da 12:3; Mt 11:15; Mt 13:38; Mt 25:34; Mt 26:29; Lu 12:32; 1Co 15:41)
The Parable of the Hidden Treasure
44“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. (Pr 2:4; Pr 23:23; Isa 55:1; Mt 25:9; Php 3:7; Re 3:18)
The Parable of the Pearl of Great Value
45“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls,46who, on finding one pearl of great value, went and sold all that he had and bought it. (Mt 7:6; Mt 13:44)
The Parable of the Net
47“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was thrown into the sea and gathered fish of every kind. (Mt 4:19; Mt 13:38; Mt 22:10; Mt 25:2)48When it was full, men drew it ashore and sat down and sorted the good into containers but threw away the bad. (Joh 21:11)49So it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come out and separate the evil from the righteous (Mt 13:39; Mt 13:41; Mt 25:32)50and throw them into the fiery furnace. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. (Mt 13:42)
New and Old Treasures
51“Have you understood all these things?” They said to him, “Yes.” (Mt 13:10; Joh 10:6; Joh 16:29)52And he said to them, “Therefore every scribe who has been trained for the kingdom of heaven is like a master of a house, who brings out of his treasure what is new and what is old.” (Mt 12:35; Mt 23:34; Mt 28:19)
Jesus Rejected at Nazareth
53And when Jesus had finished these parables, he went away from there,54and coming to his hometown he taught them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished, and said, “Where did this man get this wisdom and these mighty works? (Mt 2:23; Mt 4:23; Mt 7:28; Mr 6:1; Lu 4:16; Lu 4:23)55Is not this the carpenter’s son? Is not his mother called Mary? And are not his brothers James and Joseph and Simon and Judas? (Mt 12:46; Mr 6:3; Lu 4:22; Joh 6:42)56And are not all his sisters with us? Where then did this man get all these things?”57And they took offense at him. But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown and in his own household.” (Jer 11:21; Jer 12:6; Mt 11:6; Lu 4:24; Joh 4:44; Joh 7:5)58And he did not do many mighty works there, because of their unbelief. (Mt 17:20)
1در همان روز، عيسی از خانه خارج شد و به كنار دريا رفت.2-3چيزی نگذشت كه عدهٔ زيادی دور او جمع شدند. او نيز سوار قايق شد و در حالی که همه در ساحل ايستاده بودند، به تعليم ايشان پرداخت. در حين تعليم، حكايتهای بسياری برای ايشان تعريف كرد، كه يكی از آنها اينچنين بود: «كشاورزی در مزرعهاش تخم میكاشت.4همينطور كه تخمها را به اطراف میپاشيد، بعضی در گذرگاه كشتزار افتاد. پرندهها آمدند و آنها را خوردند.5بعضی روی خاكی افتاد كه زيرش سنگ بود. تخمها روی آن خاک كمعمق، خيلی زود سبز شدند.6ولی وقتی خورشيد سوزان بر آنها تابيد، همه سوختند و از بين رفتند، چون ريشهٔ عميقی نداشتند.7بعضی از تخمها لابلای خارها افتاد. خارها و تخمها با هم رشد كردند و ساقههای جوان گياه زير فشار خارها خفه شد.8ولی مقداری از اين تخمها روی خاک خوب افتاد، و از هر تخم، سی و شصت و حتی صد تخم ديگر به دست آمد.9اگر گوش شنوا داريد، خوب گوش دهيد!»10در اين موقع شاگردان، نزد او آمدند و از او پرسيدند: «چرا هميشه حكايتهايی تعريف میكنيد كه دركشان مشكل است؟»11عيسی به ايشان فرمود: «قدرت درک اسرار ملكوت خدا فقط به شما عطا شده، و به ديگران چنين دركی بخشيده نشده است.»12-13سپس به ايشان گفت: «به كسی كه دارد، باز هم داده میشود، تا آنچه دارد زياد شود. ولی از كسی كه چيزی ندارد، آن مقدار كمی هم كه دارد گرفته میشود. به همين دليل است كه من اين حكايتها را میگويم تا مردم بشنوند و ببينند ولی نفهمند.14در كتاب اشعيای نبی دربارهٔ اين مردم پيشگويی شده كه: ايشان میشنوند ولی نمیفهمند، نگاه میكنند ولی نمیبينند.15زيرا فكر ايشان از كار افتاده، گوشهايشان سنگين شده، و چشمانشان بسته شده است. و گرنه میديدند و میشنيدند و میفهميدند، و به سوی خدا باز میگشتند تا خدا آنان را شفا بخشد.16«اما خوشا به حال شما كه چشمانتان میبينند و گوشهايتان میشنوند.17بسياری از پيغمبران و مردان خدا آرزو داشتند چيزی را كه شما میبينيد، ببينند، و آنچه را كه میشنويد، بشنوند، ولی نتوانستند.18«اكنون معنی حكايت كشاورز را برای شما بيان میكنم:19گذرگاه كشتزار كه تخمها بر آن افتاد، دل سخت كسی را نشان میدهد كه گرچه مژدهٔ ملكوت خداوند را میشنود، ولی آن را درک نمیكند. در همان حال، شيطان سر میرسد و تخمها را از قلب او میربايد.20«خاكی كه زيرش سنگ بود، دل كسی را نشان میدهد كه تا پيغام خدا را میشنود فوراً با شادی آن را قبول میكند،21ولی چون آن را عميقاً درک نكرده است، در دل او ريشهای نمیدواند و به محض اينكه آزار و اذيتی به خاطر ايمانش میبيند، شور و حرارت خود را از دست میدهد و از ايمان برمیگردد.22زمينی كه از خارها پوشيده شده بود، حالت كسی را نشان میدهد كه پيغام را میشنود ولی نگرانيهای زندگی و عشق به پول، كلام خدا را در او خفه میكنند، و او نمیتواند خدمت مؤثری برای خدا انجام دهد.23و اما زمين خوب قلب كسی را نشان میدهد كه به پيغام خدا گوش میدهد و آن را میفهمد و به ديگران نيز میرساند و سی، شصت و حتی صد نفر به آن ايمان میآورند.»
مَثَل گندم و علف هرز
24عيسی مَثَل ديگری به اين شرح برای ايشان آورد: «آنچه در ملكوت خداوند روی میدهد، مانند ماجرای آن شخصی است كه در مزرعهٔ خود تخم خوب كاشته بود.25يک شب وقتی او خوابيده بود، دشمن او آمد و لابلای تخم گندم، علف هرز كاشت و رفت.26وقتی گندم رشد كرد و خوشه داد، علف هرز هم با آن بالا آمد.27«كارگران او آمدند و به او خبر دادند كه: آقا، اين مزرعه كه شما تخم خوب در آن كاشتيد، پر از علف هرز شده است.28«او جواب داد: اين كار دشمن است. گفتند: میخواهيد برويم علفهای هرز را از خاک بيرون بكشيم؟29«جواب داد: نه! اين كار را نكنيد. ممكن است هنگام درآوردن آنها، گندمها نيز از ريشه در بيايند.30بگذاريد تا وقت درو، هر دو با هم رشد كنند، آنگاه به دروگرها خواهم گفت علف هرز را دسته كنند و بسوزانند و گندم را در انبار ذخيره نمايند.»31-32عيسی باز مَثَل ديگری برای ايشان آورد: «ملكوت خدا مانند دانهٔ ريز خردل است كه در مزرعهای كاشته شده باشد. دانهٔ خردل كوچكترين دانههاست؛ با وجود اين، وقتی رشد میكند از تمام بوتههای ديگر بزرگتر شده، به اندازهٔ يک درخت میشود، به طوری كه پرندهها میآيند و در لابلای شاخههايش لانه میكنند.»
مَثَل دانه خردل مَثَل خميرمايه
33اين مَثَل را نيز گفت: «میتوان آنچه را كه در ملكوت خداوند روی میدهد، به زنی تشبيه كرد كه نان میپزد. او يک پيمانه آرد برمیدارد و با خميرمايه مخلوط میكند تا خمير وَر بيايد.»34-35عيسی برای بيان مقصود خود هميشه از اين نوع امثال و حكايات استفاده میكرد؛ و اين چيزی بود كه انبیا نيز پيشگويی كرده بودند. پس هرگاه برای مردم سخن میگفت، مَثَلی نيز میآورد. زيرا در كتاب آسمانی پيشگويی شده بود كه«من با مَثَل و حكايت سخن خواهم گفت و اسراری را بيان خواهم نمود كه از زمان آفرينش دنيا تا حال پوشيده مانده است.»
تفسير مَثَل گندم و علف هرز
36پس از آن، عيسی از نزد جماعت به خانه رفت. آنگاه شاگردانش از او تقاضا كردند كه معنی حكايت گندم و علف هرز را برای ايشان بيان كند.37عيسی فرمود: «بسيار خوب. من همان كسی هستم كه تخم خوب در مزرعه میكارد.38مزرعه نيز اين دنياست و تخمهای خوب آنانی هستند كه پيرو ملكوت خداوند میباشند، و علفهای هرز پيروان شيطانند.39دشمنی كه علفهای هرز را لابلای گندمها كاشت، شيطان است. فصل درو، آخر زمان است، و دروگرها، فرشتگان میباشند.40«همانطور كه در اين حكايت، علفهای هرز را دسته كردند و سوزاندند، در آخر زمان نيز همينطور خواهد شد.41من فرشتگان خود را خواهم فرستاد تا هر چيزی را كه باعث لغزش میشود و هر انسان بدكاری را از ملكوت خداوند جدا كنند،42و آنها را در كورهٔ آتش بريزند و بسوزانند، جايی كه گريه و فشار دندان بر دندان است.43در آن زمان، انسانهای نيک در ملكوت پدرم خدا، همچون خورشيد خواهند درخشيد. اگر گوش شنوا داريد، خوب گوش دهيد.»44«ملكوت آسمان مانند گنجی است كه مردی در يک مزرعه پيدا كرد و دوباره آن را زير خاک پنهان نمود و از ذوق آن، رفت و هر چه داشت فروخت تا پول كافی به دست آوَرَد و آن مزرعه را بخرد و صاحب آن گنج شود.»
مَثَل گنج پنهان در مزرعه مَثَل تاجر مرواريد
45«ملكوت آسمان را میتوان به گونهای ديگر نيز توصيف كرد. يک تاجر مرواريد، در جستجوی مرواريدهای مرغوب بود.46سرانجام وقتی به مرواريد با ارزشی دست يافت، رفت و هر چه داشت فروخت تا آن را بخرد.»
مَثَل تور ماهيگيری
47-48«باز میتوان ملكوت آسمان را اينچنين توصيف كرد. ماهيگيران تور ماهيگيری را داخل آب میاندازند و انواع گوناگون ماهی در تورشان جمع میشود. سپس آن را به ساحل میكشند و ماهيهای خوب را از بد جدا میكنند و خوبها را در ظرف میريزند و بدها را دور میاندازند.49در آخر دنيا نيز همينطور خواهد شد. فرشتگان آمده، انسانهای خوب را از بد جدا خواهند كرد؛50انسانهای بد را داخل آتش خواهند افكند كه در آنجا گريه خواهد بود و فشار دندانها بر هم.51درک میكنيد چه میگويم؟» شاگردانش جواب دادند: «بلی.»52آنگاه عيسی ادامه داد: «كسانی كه در شريعت موسی استادند و حال شاگرد من شدهاند، از دو گنج كهنه و نو برخوردارند. گنج كهنه، تورات است و گنج نو، انجيل.»
همشهريهای عيسی به او ايمان نمیآورند
53-54پس از بيان اين حكايات، عيسی به شهر ناصره بازگشت و در عبادتگاهها به تعليم مردم پرداخت. مردم از اين همه حكمت و معجزهای كه از او میديدند در حيرت افتادند و گفتند:55«چگونه چنين امری امكان دارد؟ او پسر يک نجار است. مادرش مريم را میشناسيم، برادرانش نيز يعقوب و يوسف و شمعون و يهودا میباشند.56خواهرانش نيز همين جا زندگی میكنند. پس اين چيزها را از كجا آموخته است؟»57به اين ترتيب به سخنانش اعتنايی نكردند. پس عيسی به ايشان گفت: «پيامبر همه جا مورد احترام مردم است، جز در وطن خود و بين هموطنان خويش.»58از این رو، به علت بیايمانی ايشان، معجزات زيادی در آنجا به عمل نياورد.
