(Ge 6:9; Mt 24:38; Lu 17:26; Heb 11:7; 1Pe 3:20; 2Pe 2:5)2Take with you seven pairs of all clean animals,[1] the male and his mate, and a pair of the animals that are not clean, the male and his mate, (Ge 8:20)3and seven pairs[2] of the birds of the heavens also, male and female, to keep their offspring alive on the face of all the earth.4For in seven days I will send rain on the earth forty days and forty nights, and every living thing[3] that I have made I will blot out from the face of the ground.” (Ge 6:17; Ge 7:12; Ge 7:17; Job 37:11)5And Noah did all that the Lord had commanded him. (Ge 6:22)6Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters came upon the earth.7And Noah and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives with him went into the ark to escape the waters of the flood.8Of clean animals, and of animals that are not clean, and of birds, and of everything that creeps on the ground,9two and two, male and female, went into the ark with Noah, as God had commanded Noah.10And after seven days the waters of the flood came upon the earth.11In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep burst forth, and the windows of the heavens were opened. (Ge 6:20)16And those that entered, male and female of all flesh, went in as God had commanded him. And the Lord shut him in. (Ge 7:2)17The flood continued forty days on the earth. The waters increased and bore up the ark, and it rose high above the earth. (Ge 7:4; Ge 7:12)18The waters prevailed and increased greatly on the earth, and the ark floated on the face of the waters.19And the waters prevailed so mightily on the earth that all the high mountains under the whole heaven were covered.20The waters prevailed above the mountains, covering them fifteen cubits[4] deep.21And all flesh died that moved on the earth, birds, livestock, beasts, all swarming creatures that swarm on the earth, and all mankind. (Ge 2:7)23He blotted out every living thing that was on the face of the ground, man and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens. They were blotted out from the earth. Only Noah was left, and those who were with him in the ark. (2Pe 2:5)24And the waters prevailed on the earth 150 days.

from Biblica1سپس خداوند به نوح فرمود: «تو و اهل خانهات داخل كشتی شويد، زيرا در بين همهٔ مردمان اين روزگار فقط تو را درستكار يافتم.2-3همراه خود هفت جفت از حيوانات حلال گوشت، هفت جفت از پرندگان و يک جفت از بقيه حيوانات را به درون كشتی ببر، تا بعد از طوفان، نسل آنها روی زمين باقی بماند.4پس از يک هفته، به مدت چهل شبانه روز باران فرو خواهم ريخت و هر موجودی را كه به وجود آوردهام، از روی زمين محو خواهم كرد.»5پس نوح هر آنچه را كه خداوند به او امر فرموده بود انجام داد.6وقتی كه آن طوفان عظيم بر زمين آمد، نوح ششصد ساله بود.7او و همسرش به اتفاق پسران و عروسانش به درون كشتی رفتند تا از خطر طوفان در امان باشند.8-9پرندگان و خزندگان و حيوانات نيز، چه حلال گوشت و چه حرام گوشت، همراه او به كشتی رفتند. همانطوری كه خدا فرموده بود، آنها جفتجفت، نر و ماده، داخل كشتی جای گرفتند.10-12بعد از يک هفته، هنگامی كه نوح ششصد ساله بود، در روز هفدهم ماه دوم، طوفان شروع شد و چهل شبانه روز به شدت باران باريد. همچنين همهٔ آبهای زيرزمينی فوران كرده، بر زمين جاری شدند.13اما روزی كه طوفان شروع شد، نوح و همسر و پسرانش، سام و حام و يافث و زنان آنها داخل كشتی بودند.14-15از هر نوع حيوان اهلی و وحشی، پرنده و خزنده نيز يک جفت با آنها بودند.16پس از آنكه حيوانات نر و ماده، طبق دستور خدا به نوح، وارد كشتی شدند خداوند درِ كشتی را از عقب آنها بست.17به مدت چهل شبانه روز باران سيلآسا میباريد و به تدریج زمين را میپوشانيد، تا اينكه كشتی از روی زمين بلند شد.18رفتهرفته آب آنقدر بالا آمد كه كشتی روی آن شناور گرديد.19سرانجام بلندترين كوهها نيز به زير آب فرو رفتند.20باران آنقدر باريد كه سطح آب به هفت متر بالاتر از قلهٔ كوهها رسيد.21همهٔ جاندارانِ روی زمين يعنی حيواناتِ اهلی و وحشی، خزندگان و پرندگان، با آدميان هلاک شدند.22هر موجودِ زندهای كه در خشكی بود، نابود گشت.23بدينسان خدا تمام موجودات زنده را از روی زمين محو كرد، بهجز نوح و آنانی كه در كشتی همراهش بودند.24آب تا صد و پنجاه روز همچنان پهنهٔ زمين را پوشانيده بود.
