1Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding in his hand the key to the bottomless pit[1] and a great chain. (Re 1:18; Re 9:1)2And he seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years, (2Pe 2:4; Jud 1:6; Re 12:9)3and threw him into the pit, and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he might not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were ended. After that he must be released for a little while. (Da 6:17; Mt 27:66; Re 20:1; Re 20:8; Re 20:10)4Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. (Ps 45:16; Da 7:9; Da 7:18; Da 7:22; Mt 19:28; Mt 20:21; Mt 20:27; Joh 14:19; 2Ti 2:11; 2Ti 2:12; Re 3:21; Re 5:10; Re 6:9; Re 13:12; Re 13:14; Re 20:6; Re 22:5)5The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended. This is the first resurrection.6Blessed and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! Over such the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years. (Re 1:6; Re 2:11; Re 14:13; Re 20:4; Re 20:14; Re 21:8)
The Defeat of Satan
7And when the thousand years are ended, Satan will be released from his prison (Re 20:2)8and will come out to deceive the nations that are at the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them for battle; their number is like the sand of the sea. (Eze 38:2; Eze 39:1; Re 16:14; Re 20:3; Re 20:10)9And they marched up over the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city, but fire came down from heaven[2] and consumed them, (Ps 132:13; Isa 8:8; Eze 38:9; Eze 38:16; Hab 1:6; Heb 13:11; Heb 13:13; Re 13:13)10and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. (Re 16:13; Re 19:20; Re 20:3; Re 20:8)
Judgment Before the Great White Throne
11Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. (Ps 102:26; Da 2:35; Re 12:8)12And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. (Da 7:10; Mt 16:27; Ro 14:10; 2Co 5:10; Re 3:5; Re 11:18)13And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done. (Re 6:8; Re 20:12)14Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. (Lu 20:36; 1Co 15:26; Re 20:6; Re 20:13; Re 21:4)15And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire. (Mt 13:42; Mt 13:50)
1Vi además a un ángel que bajaba del cielo con la llave del abismo y una gran cadena en la mano.2Sujetó al dragón, a aquella serpiente antigua que es el diablo y Satanás, y lo encadenó por mil años.3Lo arrojó al abismo, lo encerró y tapó la salida para que no engañara más a las naciones, hasta que se cumplieran los mil años. Después habrá de ser soltado por algún tiempo.4Entonces vi tronos donde se sentaron los que recibieron autoridad para juzgar. Vi también las almas de los que habían sido decapitados por causa del testimonio de Jesús y por la palabra de Dios. No habían adorado a la bestia ni a su imagen, ni se habían dejado poner su marca en la frente ni en la mano. Volvieron a vivir y reinaron con Cristo mil años.5Ésta es la primera resurrección; los demás muertos no volvieron a vivir hasta que se cumplieron los mil años.6Dichosos y santos los que tienen parte en la primera resurrección. La segunda muerte no tiene poder sobre ellos, sino que serán sacerdotes de Dios y de Cristo, y reinarán con él mil años.
Juicio final de Satanás
7Cuando se cumplan los mil años, Satanás será liberado de su prisión,8y saldrá para engañar a las naciones que están en los cuatro ángulos de la tierra —a Gog y a Magog—, a fin de reunirlas para la batalla. Su número será como el de las arenas del mar.9Marcharán a lo largo y a lo ancho de la tierra, y rodearán el campamento del pueblo de Dios, la ciudad que él ama. Pero caerá fuego del cielo y los consumirá por completo.10El diablo, que los había engañado, será arrojado al lago de fuego y azufre, donde también habrán sido arrojados la bestia y el falso profeta. Allí serán atormentados día y noche por los siglos de los siglos.
Juicio de los muertos
11Luego vi un gran trono blanco y a alguien que estaba sentado en él. De su presencia huyeron la tierra y el cielo, sin dejar rastro alguno.12Vi también a los muertos, grandes y pequeños, de pie delante del trono. Se abrieron unos libros, y luego otro, que es el libro de la vida. Los muertos fueron juzgados según lo que habían hecho, conforme a lo que estaba escrito en los libros.13El mar devolvió sus muertos; la muerte y el infierno[1]devolvieron los suyos; y cada uno fue juzgado según lo que había hecho.14La muerte y el infierno fueron arrojados al lago de fuego. Este lago de fuego es la muerte segunda.15Aquel cuyo nombre no estaba escrito en el libro de la vida era arrojado al lago de fuego.
