I Have Calmed and Quieted My Soul

A Song of Ascents. Of David.

1 O LORD, my heart is not lifted up; my eyes are not raised too high; I do not occupy myself with things too great and too marvelous for me. (Job 42:3; Ps 101:5; Ps 138:6; Isa 57:15; Jer 45:5; Ro 12:16) 

2 But I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child is my soul within me. (Mt 18:3; 1Co 14:20) 

3 O Israel, hope in the LORD from this time forth and forevermore. (Ps 130:7)

1 Señor, mi corazón no es orgulloso, ni son altivos mis ojos; no busco grandezas desmedidas, ni proezas que excedan a mis fuerzas. 

2 Todo lo contrario: he calmado y aquietado mis ansias. Soy como un niño recién amamantado en el regazo de su madre. ¡Mi alma es como un niño recién amamantado! 

3 Israel, pon tu esperanza en el Señor desde ahora y para siempre.
