1Behold, a king will reign in righteousness, and princes will rule in justice. (Ps 72:1; Ps 72:4; Isa 11:1; Jer 23:5)2Each will be like a hiding place from the wind, a shelter from the storm, like streams of water in a dry place, like the shade of a great rock in a weary land. (Isa 4:6; Isa 25:4; Isa 33:21)3Then the eyes of those who see will not be closed, and the ears of those who hear will give attention. (Isa 29:18)4The heart of the hasty will understand and know, and the tongue of the stammerers will hasten to speak distinctly. (Isa 35:6)5The fool will no more be called noble, nor the scoundrel said to be honorable. (Isa 5:20)6For the fool speaks folly, and his heart is busy with iniquity, to practice ungodliness, to utter error concerning the Lord, to leave the craving of the hungry unsatisfied, and to deprive the thirsty of drink. (1Sa 24:13; Isa 3:14)7As for the scoundrel—his devices are evil; he plans wicked schemes to ruin the poor with lying words, even when the plea of the needy is right. (Mic 2:1)8But he who is noble plans noble things, and on noble things he stands.
Complacent Women Warned of Disaster
9Rise up, you women who are at ease, hear my voice; you complacent daughters, give ear to my speech. (Isa 3:16; Am 6:1)10In little more than a year you will shudder, you complacent women; for the grape harvest fails, the fruit harvest will not come.11Tremble, you women who are at ease, shudder, you complacent ones; strip, and make yourselves bare, and tie sackcloth around your waist. (Ge 37:34; Isa 32:9; Isa 47:2)12Beat your breasts for the pleasant fields, for the fruitful vine, (Isa 24:7)13for the soil of my people growing up in thorns and briers, yes, for all the joyous houses in the exultant city. (Isa 7:23; Isa 24:11; Isa 34:13; Ho 9:6)14For the palace is forsaken, the populous city deserted; the hill and the watchtower will become dens forever, a joy of wild donkeys, a pasture of flocks; (Jer 2:24)15until the Spirit is poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness becomes a fruitful field, and the fruitful field is deemed a forest. (Isa 11:2; Isa 29:17; Isa 35:1; Joe 2:28)16Then justice will dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness abide in the fruitful field.17And the effect of righteousness will be peace, and the result of righteousness, quietness and trust[1] forever. (Ps 72:3; Ps 119:165; Isa 1:27; Jas 3:18)18My people will abide in a peaceful habitation, in secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places.19And it will hail when the forest falls down, and the city will be utterly laid low. (Isa 26:5; Isa 28:2; Isa 28:17)20Happy are you who sow beside all waters, who let the feet of the ox and the donkey range free. (Ec 11:1; Isa 30:23)

Las mujeres de Jerusalén
9Mujeres despreocupadas, ¡levántense y escúchenme! Hijas que se sienten tan confiadas, ¡presten atención a lo que voy a decirles!10Ustedes, que se sienten tan confiadas, en poco más de un año temblarán; porque fallará la vendimia, y no llegará la cosecha.11Mujeres despreocupadas, ¡estremézcanse! Ustedes, que se sienten tan confiadas, ¡pónganse a temblar! Desvístanse, desnúdense; pónganse ropa de luto.12Golpéense el pecho, por los campos agradables, por los viñedos fértiles,13por el suelo de mi pueblo cubierto de espinos y de zarzas, por todas las casas donde hay alegría y por esta ciudad donde hay diversión.14La fortaleza será abandonada, y desamparada la ciudad populosa; para siempre convertidas en cuevas quedarán la ciudadela y la atalaya; convertidas en deleite de asnos, en pastizal de rebaños,15hasta que desde lo alto el Espíritu sea derramado sobre nosotros. Entonces el desierto se volverá un campo fértil, y el campo fértil se convertirá en bosque.16La justicia morará en el desierto, y en el campo fértil habitará la rectitud.17El producto de la justicia será la paz; tranquilidad y seguridad perpetuas serán su fruto.18Mi pueblo habitará en un lugar de paz, en moradas seguras, en serenos lugares de reposo.19Aunque el granizo arrase con el bosque y la ciudad sea completamente allanada,20¡dichosos ustedes, los que siembran junto al agua, y dejan sueltos al buey y al asno!
