1First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people,2for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. (Ezr 6:10; 1Ti 3:4)3This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, (1Ti 1:1; 1Ti 5:4)4who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. (Eze 18:23; Eze 18:32; 1Ti 4:10; 2Ti 2:25; 2Ti 3:7; Tit 1:1; Heb 10:26)5For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man[1] Christ Jesus, (Ga 3:20)6who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time. (Mt 20:28; 1Co 1:6; Ga 4:4; 1Ti 6:15; Tit 1:3)7For this I was appointed a preacher and an apostle ( I am telling the truth, I am not lying), a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth. (Ac 9:15; Ro 9:1; Eph 3:7; Eph 3:8; 1Ti 1:11; 2Ti 1:11)8I desire then that in every place the men should pray, lifting holy hands without anger or quarreling; (Job 17:9; Ps 24:4; Ps 63:4; Ps 119:48; Isa 1:15; Joh 4:21)9likewise also that women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire, (Isa 3:18; 1Pe 3:3)10but with what is proper for women who profess godliness—with good works. (1Pe 3:4)11Let a woman learn quietly with all submissiveness. (Tit 2:5)12I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet. (1Co 14:34)13For Adam was formed first, then Eve; (Ge 1:27; Ge 2:8; Ge 2:18; Ge 2:22)14and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor. (Ge 3:6; Ge 3:13)15Yet she will be saved through childbearing—if they continue in faith and love and holiness, with self-control. (Ga 4:4; 1Ti 1:14)
1Así que recomiendo, ante todo, que se hagan plegarias, oraciones, súplicas y acciones de gracias por todos,2especialmente por los gobernantes[1] y por todas las autoridades, para que tengamos paz y tranquilidad, y llevemos una vida piadosa y digna.3Esto es bueno y agradable a Dios nuestro Salvador,4pues él quiere que todos sean salvos y lleguen a conocer la verdad.5Porque hay un solo Dios y un solo mediador entre Dios y los hombres, Jesucristo hombre,6quien dio su vida como rescate por todos. Este testimonio Dios lo ha dado a su debido tiempo,7y para proclamarlo me nombró heraldo y apóstol. Digo la verdad y no miento: Dios me hizo maestro de los gentiles para enseñarles la verdadera fe.8Quiero, pues, que en todas partes los hombres levanten las manos al cielo con pureza de corazón, sin enojos ni contiendas.9En cuanto a las mujeres, quiero que ellas se vistan decorosamente, con modestia y recato, sin peinados ostentosos, ni oro, ni perlas ni vestidos costosos.10Que se adornen más bien con buenas obras, como corresponde a mujeres que profesan servir a Dios.11La mujer debe aprender con serenidad,[2] con toda sumisión.12No permito que la mujer enseñe al hombre y ejerza autoridad sobre él; debe mantenerse ecuánime.[3]13Porque primero fue formado Adán, y Eva después.14Además, no fue Adán el engañado, sino la mujer; y ella, una vez engañada, incurrió en pecado.15Pero la mujer se salvará[4] siendo madre y permaneciendo con sensatez en la fe, el amor y la santidad.
