1In that day the Lord with his hard and great and strong sword will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent, Leviathan the twisting serpent, and he will slay the dragon that is in the sea. (Ps 74:14; Isa 51:9; Jer 47:6; Eze 29:3)2In that day, “A pleasant vineyard,[1] sing of it! (Isa 5:7; Isa 26:1)3I, the Lord, am its keeper; every moment I water it. Lest anyone punish it, I keep it night and day;4I have no wrath. Would that I had thorns and briers to battle! I would march against them, I would burn them up together. (Isa 10:17)5Or let them lay hold of my protection, let them make peace with me, let them make peace with me.”6In days to come[2] Jacob shall take root, Israel shall blossom and put forth shoots and fill the whole world with fruit. (Isa 37:31; Ho 14:5)7Has he struck them as he struck those who struck them? Or have they been slain as their slayers were slain? (Isa 37:18; Isa 37:36; Ho 6:1)8Measure by measure,[3] by exile you contended with them; he removed them with his fierce breath[4] in the day of the east wind. (Jer 10:24; Jer 18:17)9Therefore by this the guilt of Jacob will be atoned for, and this will be the full fruit of the removal of his sin:[5] when he makes all the stones of the altars like chalkstones crushed to pieces, no Asherim or incense altars will remain standing. (De 16:21; 2Ki 18:4; Isa 22:14)10For the fortified city is solitary, a habitation deserted and forsaken, like the wilderness; there the calf grazes; there it lies down and strips its branches. (Isa 17:9; Isa 32:14; Isa 32:19; Ho 8:14; Mic 5:11)11When its boughs are dry, they are broken; women come and make a fire of them. For this is a people without discernment; therefore he who made them will not have compassion on them; he who formed them will show them no favor. (De 32:28; Isa 30:16)12In that day from the river Euphrates[6] to the Brook of Egypt the Lord will thresh out the grain, and you will be gleaned one by one, O people of Israel. (Ge 15:18)13And in that day a great trumpet will be blown, and those who were lost in the land of Assyria and those who were driven out to the land of Egypt will come and worship the Lord on the holy mountain at Jerusalem. 1În ziua aceea, DOMNUL va pedepsi cu sabia Sa aspră, mare și puternică Leviatanul, șarpele fugar, Leviatanul, șarpele încolăcit. Îl va ucide pe monstrul care este în mare!2În ziua aceea, va exista o vie aleasă: „Cântați despre ea!3Eu, DOMNUL, sunt veghetorul ei: o ud tot timpul și o păzesc zi și noapte, pentru ca nimeni să nu‑i facă rău.4Nu sunt mânios deloc. Cine însă îmi oferă mărăcini și spini, voi merge la luptă împotriva lor și îi voi arde pe toți.5Afară doar dacă aceștia vor căuta ocrotirea Mea și vor urmări să se împace cu Mine; da, să se împace cu Mine.“6În zilele care vin, Iacov va prinde rădăcină, Israel va înflori, va da lăstari și va umple întreaga lume cu rod.7L‑a lovit oare Dumnezeu cum i‑a lovit pe cei ce‑l loveau? A fost el ucis cum au fost uciși cei ce‑l ucideau?8Te‑ai certat cu el cu măsură[1] când l‑ai izgonit! Cu suflarea Sa năprasnică l‑a strămutat în ziua vântului de răsărit.9Prin urmare, astfel va fi ispășită nelegiuirea lui Iacov, acesta va fi rodul deplin al îndepărtării păcatului său: când El va face din toate pietrele altarelor niște pietre de var, zdrobite în bucăți, nu vor mai rămâne în picioare nici AȘERELE[2] și nici altarele pentru tămâiere. (Isa 17:8)10Căci cetatea fortificată a ajuns în singurătate; a ajuns o locuință abandonată și părăsită ca un deșert. Acolo pasc vițeii, acolo se odihnesc și‑i distrug crengile.11Când ramurile i se usucă, sunt rupte, iar femeile vin și fac foc cu ele. Fiindcă acesta este un popor fără pricepere, Cel Ce l‑a făcut nu Se va îndura de el și Cel Ce l‑a întocmit nu‑Și va arăta bunăvoința față de el.12În ziua aceea, DOMNUL va treiera de la cursul Eufratului[3] până la Râul Egiptului[4], iar voi, fii ai lui Israel, veți fi adunați unul câte unul.13În ziua aceea, o trâmbiță[5] mare va suna, iar cei pierduți în țara Asiriei și cei exilați în țara Egiptului vor veni și se vor închina DOMNULUI pe muntele cel sfânt, în Ierusalim.
