1Of David. Vindicate me, O Lord, for I have walked in my integrity, and I have trusted in the Lord without wavering. (Ps 7:8; Ps 11:1; Ps 26:11)2Prove me, O Lord, and try me; test my heart and my mind.[1] (Ps 7:9; Ps 17:3; Ps 139:23)3For your steadfast love is before my eyes, and I walk in your faithfulness. (2Ki 20:3; Ps 25:10; Ps 86:11)4I do not sit with men of falsehood, nor do I consort with hypocrites. (Job 11:11; Ps 1:1)5I hate the assembly of evildoers, and I will not sit with the wicked. (Ps 31:6; Ps 139:21)6I wash my hands in innocence and go around your altar, O Lord, (Ex 30:19; De 21:6; Ps 73:13)7proclaiming thanksgiving aloud, and telling all your wondrous deeds. (Ps 9:1)8O Lord, I love the habitation of your house and the place where your glory dwells. (Ps 27:4)9Do not sweep my soul away with sinners, nor my life with bloodthirsty men, (Ps 28:3)10in whose hands are evil devices, and whose right hands are full of bribes. (Ex 23:8; De 16:19)11But as for me, I shall walk in my integrity; redeem me, and be gracious to me.12My foot stands on level ground; in the great assembly I will bless the Lord. (Ps 22:25; Ps 27:11)
1Vindicate me, Lord, for I have led a blameless life; I have trusted in the Lord and have not faltered.2Test me, Lord, and try me, examine my heart and my mind;3for I have always been mindful of your unfailing love and have lived in reliance on your faithfulness.4I do not sit with the deceitful, nor do I associate with hypocrites.5I abhor the assembly of evildoers and refuse to sit with the wicked.6I wash my hands in innocence, and go about your altar, Lord,7proclaiming aloud your praise and telling of all your wonderful deeds.8Lord, I love the house where you live, the place where your glory dwells.9Do not take away my soul along with sinners, my life with those who are bloodthirsty,10in whose hands are wicked schemes, whose right hands are full of bribes.11I lead a blameless life; deliver me and be merciful to me.12My feet stand on level ground; in the great congregation I will praise the Lord.
1LORD, when you hand down your sentence, let it be in my favour. I have lived without blame. I have trusted in the LORD. I have never doubted him.2LORD, test me. Try me out. Look deep down into my heart and mind.3I have always remembered your love that never fails. I have always depended on the fact that you are faithful.4I don’t spend time with people who tell lies. I don’t keep company with pretenders.5I hate to be with a group of sinful people. I refuse to spend time with those who are evil.6I wash my hands to show that I’m not guilty. LORD, I come near your altar.7I shout my praise to you. I tell about all the wonderful things you have done.8LORD, I love the house where you live. I love the place where your glory is.9Don’t destroy me together with sinners. Don’t take away my life along with murderers.10Their hands are always planning to do evil. Their right hands are full of money that has bought their help.11But I live without blame. Save me from harm and treat me with kindness.12My feet stand on level ground. In the whole community I will praise the LORD.
Psalm 26
King James Version
1A Psalm of David. Judge me, O LORD; for I have walked in mine integrity: I have trusted also in the LORD; therefore I shall not slide.2Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; try my reins and my heart.3For thy lovingkindness is before mine eyes: and I have walked in thy truth.4I have not sat with vain persons, neither will I go in with dissemblers.5I have hated the congregation of evil doers; and will not sit with the wicked.6I will wash mine hands in innocency: so will I compass thine altar, O LORD:7That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works.8LORD, I have loved the habitation of thy house, and the place where thine honour dwelleth.9Gather not my soul with sinners, nor my life with bloody men:10In whose hands is mischief, and their right hand is full of bribes.11But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity: redeem me, and be merciful unto me.12My foot standeth in an even place: in the congregations will I bless the LORD.
1Von David.
Verschaff mir Recht, HERR; /
mit Heuchlern habe ich keinen Umgang. (Ps 1:1)5Verhasst ist mir die Versammlung derer, die Unrecht tun;
(Ps 22:23)
