1 A Song of Ascents. Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord! (Ps 69:2; Ps 69:14; Ps 120:1; La 3:55; Jon 2:2) 2 O Lord, hear my voice! Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my pleas for mercy! (2Ch 6:40; Ps 86:6; Ps 140:6) 3 If you, O Lord, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? (Job 10:14; Ps 76:7; Ps 90:8; Ps 143:2; Am 2:15; Na 1:6; Mal 3:2; Eph 6:13; Re 6:17) 4 But with you there is forgiveness, that you may be feared. 1 Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord; 2 Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy. 3 If you, Lord, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand? 4 But with you there is forgiveness, so that we can, with reverence, serve you. 5 I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope. 6 I wait for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning. 7 Israel, put your hope in the Lord, for with the Lord is unfailing love and with him is full redemption. 8 He himself will redeem Israel from all their sins.

1 LORD, I cry out to you because I’m suffering so deeply. 2 Lord, listen to me. Pay attention to my cry for your mercy. 3 LORD, suppose you kept a close watch on sins. Lord, who then wouldn’t be found guilty? 4 But you forgive. So we can serve you with respect. 5 With all my heart I wait for the LORD to help me. I put my hope in his word. 6 I wait for the Lord to help me. I want his help more than night watchmen want the morning to come. I’ll say it again. I want his help more than night watchmen want the morning to come. 7 Israel, put your hope in the LORD, because the LORD’s love never fails. He sets his people completely free. 8 He himself will set Israel free from all their sins.

Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O LORD. 2 Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications. 3 If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand? 4 But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared. 5 I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope. 6 My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning. 7 Let Israel hope in the LORD: for with the LORD there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption. 8 And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.

(Ps 5:2) 3 Würdest du, HERR, die Sünden beachten, mein Herr, wer könnte bestehn? (Ps 143:2; Na 1:6) 4 Doch bei dir ist Vergebung, damit man in Ehrfurcht dir dient. (Ps 32:1; Isa 55:7; Mic 7:18) 5 Ich hoffe auf den HERRN, es hofft meine Seele, ich warte auf sein Wort.
