1After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, “Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.” (1Co 10:13; Heb 11:17; Jas 1:12; 1Pe 1:6)2He said, “Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.” (2Ch 3:1)3So Abraham rose early in the morning, saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and his son Isaac. And he cut the wood for the burnt offering and arose and went to the place of which God had told him.4On the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes and saw the place from afar.5Then Abraham said to his young men, “Stay here with the donkey; I and the boy[1] will go over there and worship and come again to you.”6And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it on Isaac his son. And he took in his hand the fire and the knife. So they went both of them together. (Joh 19:17)7And Isaac said to his father Abraham, “My father!” And he said, “Here I am, my son.” He said, “Behold, the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?”8Abraham said, “God will provide for himself the lamb for a burnt offering, my son.” So they went both of them together. (Joh 1:29; Joh 1:36; 1Pe 1:19; Re 5:12)9When they came to the place of which God had told him, Abraham built the altar there and laid the wood in order and bound Isaac his son and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood. (Heb 11:17; Jas 2:21)10Then Abraham reached out his hand and took the knife to slaughter his son.11But the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, “Abraham, Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.”12He said, “Do not lay your hand on the boy or do anything to him, for now I know that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me.” (Ge 26:5; Mic 6:7)13And Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, behind him was a ram, caught in a thicket by his horns. And Abraham went and took the ram and offered it up as a burnt offering instead of his son.14So Abraham called the name of that place, “The Lord will provide”;[2] as it is said to this day, “On the mount of the Lord it shall be provided.”[3] (Ge 22:8)15And the angel of the Lord called to Abraham a second time from heaven16and said, “By myself I have sworn, declares the Lord, because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son, (Ps 105:9; Lu 1:73; Heb 6:13)17I will surely bless you, and I will surely multiply your offspring as the stars of heaven and as the sand that is on the seashore. And your offspring shall possess the gate of his[4] enemies, (Ge 13:16; Ge 15:5; Ge 24:60; Ps 127:5; Jer 33:22)18and in your offspring shall all the nations of the earth be blessed, because you have obeyed my voice.” (Ge 12:3; Ge 18:18; Ge 22:3; Ge 26:4; Ge 26:5; Ac 3:25; Ga 3:8)19So Abraham returned to his young men, and they arose and went together to Beersheba. And Abraham lived at Beersheba. (Ge 21:31)20Now after these things it was told to Abraham, “Behold, Milcah also has borne children to your brother Nahor: (Ge 11:29)21Uz his firstborn, Buz his brother, Kemuel the father of Aram, (Job 1:1; Jer 25:23)22Chesed, Hazo, Pildash, Jidlaph, and Bethuel.”23(Bethuel fathered Rebekah.) These eight Milcah bore to Nahor, Abraham’s brother. (Ge 24:15)24Moreover, his concubine, whose name was Reumah, bore Tebah, Gaham, Tahash, and Maacah.

Abraham tested
1Some time later God tested Abraham. He said to him, ‘Abraham!’ ‘Here I am,’ he replied.2Then God said, ‘Take your son, your only son, whom you love – Isaac – and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain that I will show you.’3Early the next morning Abraham got up and loaded his donkey. He took with him two of his servants and his son Isaac. When he had cut enough wood for the burnt offering, he set out for the place God had told him about.4On the third day Abraham looked up and saw the place in the distance.5He said to his servants, ‘Stay here with the donkey while I and the boy go over there. We will worship and then we will come back to you.’6Abraham took the wood for the burnt offering and placed it on his son Isaac, and he himself carried the fire and the knife. As the two of them went on together,7Isaac spoke up and said to his father Abraham, ‘Father?’ ‘Yes, my son?’ Abraham replied. ‘The fire and wood are here,’ Isaac said, ‘but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?’8Abraham answered, ‘God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son.’ And the two of them went on together.9When they reached the place God had told him about, Abraham built an altar there and arranged the wood on it. He bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood.10Then he reached out his hand and took the knife to slay his son.11But the angel of the Lord called out to him from heaven, ‘Abraham! Abraham!’ ‘Here I am,’ he replied.12‘Do not lay a hand on the boy,’ he said. ‘Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.’13Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram[1] caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son.14So Abraham called that place The Lord Will Provide. And to this day it is said, ‘On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.’15The angel of the Lord called to Abraham from heaven a second time16and said, ‘I swear by myself, declares the Lord, that because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son,17I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies,18and through your offspring[2] all nations on earth will be blessed,[3] because you have obeyed me.’19Then Abraham returned to his servants, and they set off together for Beersheba. And Abraham stayed in Beersheba.
Nahor’s sons
20Some time later Abraham was told, ‘Milkah is also a mother; she has borne sons to your brother Nahor:21Uz the firstborn, Buz his brother, Kemuel (the father of Aram),22Kesed, Hazo, Pildash, Jidlaph and Bethuel.’23Bethuel became the father of Rebekah. Milkah bore these eight sons to Abraham’s brother Nahor.24His concubine, whose name was Reumah, also had sons: Tebah, Gaham, Tahash and Maakah.

God tests Abraham
1Some time later God tested Abraham. He said to him, ‘Abraham!’ ‘Here I am,’ Abraham replied.2Then God said, ‘Take your son, your only son. He is the one you love. Take Isaac. Go to the place called Moriah. Give your son to me there as a burnt offering. Sacrifice him on the mountain I will show you.’3Early the next morning Abraham got up and loaded his donkey. He took two of his servants and his son Isaac with him. He cut enough wood for the burnt offering. Then he started out for the place God had shown him.4On the third day Abraham saw the place a long way off.5He said to his servants, ‘Stay here with the donkey. I and the boy will go over there and worship. Then we’ll come back to you.’6Abraham had his son Isaac carry the wood for the burnt offering. He himself carried the fire and the knife. And the two of them walked on together.7Then Isaac said to his father Abraham, ‘Father?’ ‘Yes, my son?’ Abraham replied. ‘The fire and wood are here,’ Isaac said. ‘But where is the lamb for the burnt offering?’8Abraham answered, ‘God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son.’ And the two of them walked on together.9They reached the place God had shown Abraham. There Abraham built an altar. He arranged the wood on it. He tied up his son Isaac. Abraham placed him on the altar, on top of the wood.10Then he reached out his hand. He picked up the knife to kill his son.11But the angel of the LORD called out to him from heaven. He said, ‘Abraham! Abraham!’ ‘Here I am,’ Abraham replied.12‘Do not lay a hand on the boy,’ he said. ‘Do not harm him. Now I know that you would do anything for God. You have not held back from me your son, your only son.’13Abraham looked round. There in a bush he saw a ram caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram. He sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son.14So Abraham named that place The LORD Will Provide. To this day people say, ‘It will be provided on the mountain of the LORD.’15The angel of the LORD called out to Abraham from heaven a second time.16He said, ‘I am giving you my word that I will bless you. I will bless you because of what you have done,’ announces the LORD. ‘You have not held back your son, your only son.17So I will certainly bless you. I will make the children born into your family as many as the stars in the sky. I will make them as many as the grains of sand on the seashore. They will take over the cities of their enemies.18All nations on earth will be blessed because of your children. All these things will happen because you have obeyed me.’19Then Abraham returned to his servants. They started out together for Beersheba. And Abraham stayed in Beersheba.
Nahor’s sons
20Some time later Abraham was told, ‘Milkah has become a mother. She has had sons by your brother Nahor.21Uz was born first. Then came his brother Buz. Kemuel was born next. He became the father of Aram.22Milkah’s other sons are Kesed, Hazo, Pildash, Jidlaph and Bethuel.’23Bethuel became the father of Rebekah. Milkah had the eight sons by Abraham’s brother Nahor.24Nahor had a concubine named Reumah. She also had sons. They were Tebah, Gaham, Tahash and Maakah.

King James Version
1And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am .2And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.3And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.4Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off.5And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you.6And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together.7And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?8And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.9And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.10And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.11And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.12And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.13And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.14And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovahjireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen.15And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time,16And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son :17That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;18And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.19So Abraham returned unto his young men, and they rose up and went together to Beersheba; and Abraham dwelt at Beersheba.20And it came to pass after these things, that it was told Abraham, saying, Behold, Milcah, she hath also born children unto thy brother Nahor;21Huz his firstborn, and Buz his brother, and Kemuel the father of Aram,22And Chesed, and Hazo, and Pildash, and Jidlaph, and Bethuel.23And Bethuel begat Rebekah: these eight Milcah did bear to Nahor, Abraham' brother.24And his concubine, whose name was Reumah, she bare also Tebah, and Gaham, and Thahash, and Maachah.

Abraham blieb in Beerscheba wohnen.
Die Nachkommen Nahors
20Nach diesen Ereignissen meldete man Abraham: Siehe, auch Milka hat deinem Bruder Nahor Söhne geboren: (Ge 11:29)21Uz, seinen Erstgeborenen, dessen Bruder Bus und Kemuël, den Stammvater der Aramäer,22ferner Kesed, Haso, Pildasch, Jidlaf und Betuël.23Betuël zeugte Rebekka. Diese acht gebar Milka dem Nahor, dem Bruder Abrahams. (Ge 24:1)24Er hatte noch eine Nebenfrau namens Rëuma. Auch sie bekam Kinder, nämlich Tebach, Gaham, Tahasch und Maacha.
