1Behold, a day is coming for the Lord, when the spoil taken from you will be divided in your midst. (Joe 1:15)2For I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle, and the city shall be taken and the houses plundered and the women raped. Half of the city shall go out into exile, but the rest of the people shall not be cut off from the city. (Isa 13:16; La 5:11; Joe 3:2; Zec 13:8; Mt 24:40; Lu 21:24)3Then the Lord will go out and fight against those nations as when he fights on a day of battle. (Zec 12:9)4On that day his feet shall stand on the Mount of Olives that lies before Jerusalem on the east, and the Mount of Olives shall be split in two from east to west by a very wide valley, so that one half of the Mount shall move northward, and the other half southward. (2Sa 15:30; Eze 11:23; Zec 12:3; Zec 14:1; Zec 14:10)5And you shall flee to the valley of my mountains, for the valley of the mountains shall reach to Azal. And you shall flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the Lord my God will come, and all the holy ones with him.[1] (Am 1:1)6On that day there shall be no light, cold, or frost.[2] (Isa 60:19; Zec 14:4; Re 21:23)7And there shall be a unique[3] day, which is known to the Lord, neither day nor night, but at evening time there shall be light. (Isa 30:26; Mt 24:36; Re 21:25)8On that day living waters shall flow out from Jerusalem, half of them to the eastern sea[4] and half of them to the western sea.[5] It shall continue in summer as in winter. (Isa 33:16; Isa 33:21; Eze 47:1; Joe 2:20; Joe 3:18; Zec 14:4; Joh 4:10; Re 22:1)9And the Lord will be king over all the earth. On that day the Lord will be one and his name one. (Ps 47:7; Zec 12:3; Zec 13:2; Zec 14:1; Zec 14:16; Mal 1:14; Eph 4:5)10The whole land shall be turned into a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem. But Jerusalem shall remain aloft on its site from the Gate of Benjamin to the place of the former gate, to the Corner Gate, and from the Tower of Hananel to the king’s winepresses. (Jos 15:32; Jos 18:24; Ne 3:1; Isa 2:2; Isa 40:4; Jer 31:38; Jer 37:13; Zec 2:4; Zec 12:6; Zec 14:4)11And it shall be inhabited, for there shall never again be a decree of utter destruction.[6] Jerusalem shall dwell in security. (Jer 23:6; Re 22:3)12And this shall be the plague with which the Lord will strike all the peoples that wage war against Jerusalem: their flesh will rot while they are still standing on their feet, their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths. (Zec 14:15; Zec 14:18)13And on that day a great panic from the Lord shall fall on them, so that each will seize the hand of another, and the hand of the one will be raised against the hand of the other. (1Sa 14:20; Hag 2:22; Zec 12:3)14Even Judah will fight at Jerusalem.[7] And the wealth of all the surrounding nations shall be collected, gold, silver, and garments in great abundance. (Eze 39:10; Zec 12:2)15And a plague like this plague shall fall on the horses, the mules, the camels, the donkeys, and whatever beasts may be in those camps. (Zec 14:12)16Then everyone who survives of all the nations that have come against Jerusalem shall go up year after year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Booths. (Le 23:34; Le 23:39; Na 1:15; Zec 8:21; Zec 14:9)17And if any of the families of the earth do not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, there will be no rain on them. (1Ki 17:1; Isa 60:12; Zec 14:16)18And if the family of Egypt does not go up and present themselves, then on them there shall be no rain;[8] there shall be the plague with which the Lord afflicts the nations that do not go up to keep the Feast of Booths. (Zec 14:15; Zec 14:16)19This shall be the punishment to Egypt and the punishment to all the nations that do not go up to keep the Feast of Booths. (Zec 14:16)20And on that day there shall be inscribed on the bells of the horses, “Holy to the Lord.” And the pots in the house of the Lord shall be as the bowls before the altar. (Ex 28:36; Isa 23:18; Mic 4:13; Zec 12:3)21And every pot in Jerusalem and Judah shall be holy to the Lord of hosts, so that all who sacrifice may come and take of them and boil the meat of the sacrifice in them. And there shall no longer be a trader[9] in the house of the Lord of hosts on that day. (De 7:1; Eze 44:9; Joe 3:17; Zec 14:20)

The Lord comes and reigns
1A day of the Lord is coming, Jerusalem, when your possessions will be plundered and divided up within your very walls.2I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem to fight against it; the city will be captured, the houses ransacked, and the women raped. Half of the city will go into exile, but the rest of the people will not be taken from the city.3Then the Lord will go out and fight against those nations, as he fights on a day of battle.4On that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west, forming a great valley, with half of the mountain moving north and half moving south.5You will flee by my mountain valley, for it will extend to Azel. You will flee as you fled from the earthquake[1] in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the Lord my God will come, and all the holy ones with him.6On that day there will be neither sunlight nor cold, frosty darkness.7It will be a unique day – a day known only to the Lord – with no distinction between day and night. When evening comes, there will be light.8On that day living water will flow out from Jerusalem, half of it east to the Dead Sea and half of it west to the Mediterranean Sea, in summer and in winter.9The Lord will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one Lord, and his name the only name.10The whole land, from Geba to Rimmon, south of Jerusalem, will become like the Arabah. But Jerusalem will be raised up high from the Benjamin Gate to the site of the First Gate, to the Corner Gate, and from the Tower of Hananel to the royal winepresses, and will remain in its place.11It will be inhabited; never again will it be destroyed. Jerusalem will be secure.12This is the plague with which the Lord will strike all the nations that fought against Jerusalem: their flesh will rot while they are still standing on their feet, their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths.13On that day people will be stricken by the Lord with great panic. They will seize each other by the hand and attack one another.14Judah too will fight at Jerusalem. The wealth of all the surrounding nations will be collected – great quantities of gold and silver and clothing.15A similar plague will strike the horses and mules, the camels and donkeys, and all the animals in those camps.16Then the survivors from all the nations that have attacked Jerusalem will go up year after year to worship the King, the Lord Almighty, and to celebrate the Festival of Tabernacles.17If any of the peoples of the earth do not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord Almighty, they will have no rain.18If the Egyptian people do not go up and take part, they will have no rain. The Lord[2] will bring on them the plague he inflicts on the nations that do not go up to celebrate the Festival of Tabernacles.19This will be the punishment of Egypt and the punishment of all the nations that do not go up to celebrate the Festival of Tabernacles.20On that day ‘Holy to the Lord’ will be inscribed on the bells of the horses, and the cooking pots in the Lord’s house will be like the sacred bowls in front of the altar.21Every pot in Jerusalem and Judah will be holy to the Lord Almighty, and all who come to sacrifice will take some of the pots and cook in them. And on that day there will no longer be a Canaanite[3] in the house of the Lord Almighty.

King James Version
1Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.2For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.3Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.4And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.5And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.6And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark:7But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light.8And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.9And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.10All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin' gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananeel unto the king' winepresses.11And men shall dwell in it, and there shall be no more utter destruction; but Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited.12And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.13And it shall come to pass in that day, that a great tumult from the LORD shall be among them; and they shall lay hold every one on the hand of his neighbour, and his hand shall rise up against the hand of his neighbour.14And Judah also shall fight at Jerusalem; and the wealth of all the heathen round about shall be gathered together, gold, and silver, and apparel, in great abundance.15And so shall be the plague of the horse, of the mule, of the camel, and of the ass, and of all the beasts that shall be in these tents, as this plague.16And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.17And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.18And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain ; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.19This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.20In that day shall there be upon the bells of the horses, HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD; and the pots in the LORD' house shall be like the bowls before the altar.21Yea, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be holiness unto the LORD of hosts: and all they that sacrifice shall come and take of them, and seethe therein: and in that day there shall be no more the Canaanite in the house of the LORD of hosts.

New International Reader’s Version
The Lord will be king over the whole earth
1The day of the LORD is coming, Jerusalem. At that time your enemies will steal everything your people own. They will divide it up within your walls.2The LORD will gather all the nations together. They will fight against Jerusalem. They’ll capture the city. Its houses will be robbed. Its women will be raped. Half of the people will be taken away as prisoners. But the rest of them won’t be taken.3Then the LORD will march out and fight against those nations. He will fight as on a day of battle.4On that day he will stand on the Mount of Olives. It’s east of Jerusalem. It will be split in two from east to west. Half of the mountain will move north. The other half will move south. A large valley will be formed.5The people will run away through that mountain valley. It will reach all the way to Azel. They’ll run away just as they ran from the earthquake when Uzziah was king of Judah. Then the LORD my God will come. All the holy ones will come with him.6There won’t be any sunlight on that day. There will be no cold, frosty darkness either.7It will be a day unlike any other. It will be a day known only to the LORD. It won’t be separated into day and night. After that day is over, there will be light again.8At that time water that gives life will flow out from Jerusalem. Half of it will run east into the Dead Sea. The other half will go west to the Mediterranean Sea. The water will flow in summer and winter.9The LORD will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one LORD. His name will be the only name.10The whole land south of Jerusalem will be changed. From Geba to Rimmon it will become like the Arabah Valley. But Jerusalem will be raised up high. It will be raised from the Benjamin Gate to the First Gate to the Corner Gate. It will be raised from the Tower of Hananel to the royal winepresses. And it will remain in its place.11People will live in it. Jerusalem will never be destroyed again. It will be secure.12The LORD will punish all the nations that fought against Jerusalem. He’ll strike them with a plague. It will make their bodies rot while they are still standing on their feet. Their eyes will rot in their heads. Their tongues will rot in their mouths.13On that day the LORD will fill people with great panic. They will grab one another by the hand. And they’ll attack one another.14Judah will also fight at Jerusalem. The wealth of all the surrounding nations will be collected. Huge amounts of gold, silver and clothes will be gathered up.15The same kind of plague will strike the horses, mules, camels and donkeys. In fact, it will strike all the animals in the army camps.16But some people from all the nations that have attacked Jerusalem will still be left alive. All of them will go up there to worship the King. He is the LORD who rules over all. Year after year these people will celebrate the Feast of Booths.17Some nations might not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King. If they don’t, they won’t have any rain.18The people of Egypt might not go up there to take part. Then they won’t have any rain either. That’s the plague the LORD will send on the nations that don’t go to celebrate the Feast of Booths.19Egypt will be punished. So will all the other nations that don’t celebrate the feast.20On that day ‘Holy to the LORD’ will be carved on the bells of the horses. The cooking pots in the LORD’s temple will be just like the sacred bowls in front of the altar for burnt offerings.21Every pot in Jerusalem and Judah will be set apart to the LORD. All those who come to offer sacrifices will get some of the pots and cook in them. At that time there won’t be any Canaanites in the LORD’s temple. He is the LORD who rules over all.
