1“Thus says the Lord God: The gate of the inner court that faces east shall be shut on the six working days, but on the Sabbath day it shall be opened, and on the day of the new moon it shall be opened. (Eze 8:16; Eze 45:18; Eze 45:19)2The prince shall enter by the vestibule of the gate from outside, and shall take his stand by the post of the gate. The priests shall offer his burnt offering and his peace offerings, and he shall worship at the threshold of the gate. Then he shall go out, but the gate shall not be shut until evening. (Eze 9:3; Eze 40:38; Eze 44:3; Eze 45:19)3The people of the land shall bow down at the entrance of that gate before the Lord on the Sabbaths and on the new moons. (Eze 46:9)4The burnt offering that the prince offers to the Lord on the Sabbath day shall be six lambs without blemish and a ram without blemish. (Nu 28:9; Eze 45:17)5And the grain offering with the ram shall be an ephah,[1] and the grain offering with the lambs shall be as much as he is able, together with a hin[2] of oil to each ephah. (De 16:17; Eze 45:24; Eze 46:14)6On the day of the new moon he shall offer a bull from the herd without blemish, and six lambs and a ram, which shall be without blemish.7As a grain offering he shall provide an ephah with the bull and an ephah with the ram, and with the lambs as much as he is able, together with a hin of oil to each ephah. (Eze 46:5)8When the prince enters, he shall enter by the vestibule of the gate, and he shall go out by the same way. (Eze 46:2)9“When the people of the land come before the Lord at the appointed feasts, he who enters by the north gate to worship shall go out by the south gate, and he who enters by the south gate shall go out by the north gate: no one shall return by way of the gate by which he entered, but each shall go out straight ahead. (Ex 23:14; De 16:16; Eze 46:3)10When they enter, the prince shall enter with them, and when they go out, he shall go out. (Ps 42:4)11“At the feasts and the appointed festivals, the grain offering with a young bull shall be an ephah, and with a ram an ephah, and with the lambs as much as one is able to give, together with a hin of oil to an ephah. (Eze 46:5; Eze 46:7)12When the prince provides a freewill offering, either a burnt offering or peace offerings as a freewill offering to the Lord, the gate facing east shall be opened for him. And he shall offer his burnt offering or his peace offerings as he does on the Sabbath day. Then he shall go out, and after he has gone out the gate shall be shut. (Le 7:16; Le 22:23; De 23:23; Eze 46:1; Eze 46:2)13“You shall provide a lamb a year old without blemish for a burnt offering to the Lord daily; morning by morning you shall provide it. (Ex 29:38; Nu 28:3)14And you shall provide a grain offering with it morning by morning, one sixth of an ephah, and one third of a hin of oil to moisten the flour, as a grain offering to the Lord. This is a perpetual statute. (Eze 46:5)15Thus the lamb and the meal offering and the oil shall be provided, morning by morning, for a regular burnt offering. (Nu 23:15; Nu 23:17)16“Thus says the Lord God: If the prince makes a gift to any of his sons as his inheritance, it shall belong to his sons. It is their property by inheritance.17But if he makes a gift out of his inheritance to one of his servants, it shall be his to the year of liberty. Then it shall revert to the prince; surely it is his inheritance—it shall belong to his sons. (Le 25:10; Eze 45:7)18The prince shall not take any of the inheritance of the people, thrusting them out of their property. He shall give his sons their inheritance out of his own property, so that none of my people shall be scattered from his property.” (1Sa 8:14; 1Ki 21:3; 1Ki 21:7; Eze 34:4; Eze 45:8)
Boiling Places for Offerings
19Then he brought me through the entrance, which was at the side of the gate, to the north row of the holy chambers for the priests, and behold, a place was there at the extreme western end of them. (Eze 42:4; Eze 46:1)20And he said to me, “This is the place where the priests shall boil the guilt offering and the sin offering, and where they shall bake the grain offering, in order not to bring them out into the outer court and so transmit holiness to the people.” (Le 2:4; 2Ch 35:13; Eze 44:19)21Then he brought me out to the outer court and led me around to the four corners of the court. And behold, in each corner of the court there was another court—22in the four corners of the court were small[3] courts, forty cubits[4] long and thirty broad; the four were of the same size.23On the inside, around each of the four courts was a row of masonry, with hearths made at the bottom of the rows all around.24Then he said to me, “These are the kitchens where those who minister at the temple shall boil the sacrifices of the people.” (Eze 44:11; Eze 46:20)
Ezekiel 46
New International Version
1‘ “This is what the Sovereign Lord says: the gate of the inner court facing east is to be shut on the six working days, but on the Sabbath day and on the day of the New Moon it is to be opened.2The prince is to enter from the outside through the portico of the gateway and stand by the gatepost. The priests are to sacrifice his burnt offering and his fellowship offerings. He is to bow down in worship at the threshold of the gateway and then go out, but the gate will not be shut until evening.3On the Sabbaths and New Moons the people of the land are to worship in the presence of the Lord at the entrance of that gateway.4The burnt offering the prince brings to the Lord on the Sabbath day is to be six male lambs and a ram, all without defect.5The grain offering given with the ram is to be an ephah,[1] and the grain offering with the lambs is to be as much as he pleases, along with a hin[2] of olive oil for each ephah.6On the day of the New Moon he is to offer a young bull, six lambs and a ram, all without defect.7He is to provide as a grain offering one ephah with the bull, one ephah with the ram, and with the lambs as much as he wants to give, along with a hin of oil for each ephah.8When the prince enters, he is to go in through the portico of the gateway, and he is to come out the same way.9‘ “When the people of the land come before the Lord at the appointed festivals, whoever enters by the north gate to worship is to go out by the south gate; and whoever enters by the south gate is to go out by the north gate. No-one is to return through the gate by which they entered, but each is to go out by the opposite gate.10The prince is to be among them, going in when they go in and going out when they go out.11At the feasts and the appointed festivals, the grain offering is to be an ephah with a bull, an ephah with a ram, and with the lambs as much as he pleases, along with a hin of oil for each ephah.12‘ “When the prince provides a freewill offering to the Lord – whether a burnt offering or fellowship offerings – the gate facing east is to be opened for him. He shall offer his burnt offering or his fellowship offerings as he does on the Sabbath day. Then he shall go out, and after he has gone out, the gate will be shut.13‘ “Every day you are to provide a year-old lamb without defect for a burnt offering to the Lord; morning by morning you shall provide it.14You are also to provide with it morning by morning a grain offering, consisting of a sixth of an ephah[3] with a third of a hin[4] of oil to moisten the flour. The presenting of this grain offering to the Lord is a lasting ordinance.15So the lamb and the grain offering and the oil shall be provided morning by morning for a regular burnt offering.16‘ “This is what the Sovereign Lord says: if the prince makes a gift from his inheritance to one of his sons, it will also belong to his descendants; it is to be their property by inheritance.17If, however, he makes a gift from his inheritance to one of his servants, the servant may keep it until the year of freedom; then it will revert to the prince. His inheritance belongs to his sons only; it is theirs.18The prince must not take any of the inheritance of the people, driving them off their property. He is to give his sons their inheritance out of his own property, so that not one of my people will be separated from their property.” ’19Then the man brought me through the entrance at the side of the gate to the sacred rooms facing north, which belonged to the priests, and showed me a place at the western end.20He said to me, ‘This is the place where the priests are to cook the guilt offering and the sin offering[5] and bake the grain offering, to avoid bringing them into the outer court and consecrating the people.’21He then brought me to the outer court and led me round to its four corners, and I saw in each corner another court.22In the four corners of the outer court were enclosed[6] courts, forty cubits long and thirty cubits wide;[7] each of the courts in the four corners was the same size.23Around the inside of each of the four courts was a ledge of stone, with places for fire built all round under the ledge.24He said to me, ‘These are the kitchens where those who minister at the temple are to cook the sacrifices of the people.’
Ezekiel 46
King James Version
1Thus saith the Lord GOD; The gate of the inner court that looketh toward the east shall be shut the six working days; but on the sabbath it shall be opened, and in the day of the new moon it shall be opened.2And the prince shall enter by the way of the porch of that gate without, and shall stand by the post of the gate, and the priests shall prepare his burnt offering and his peace offerings, and he shall worship at the threshold of the gate: then he shall go forth; but the gate shall not be shut until the evening.3Likewise the people of the land shall worship at the door of this gate before the LORD in the sabbaths and in the new moons.4And the burnt offering that the prince shall offer unto the LORD in the sabbath day shall be six lambs without blemish, and a ram without blemish.5And the meat offering shall be an ephah for a ram, and the meat offering for the lambs as he shall be able to give, and an hin of oil to an ephah.6And in the day of the new moon it shall be a young bullock without blemish, and six lambs, and a ram: they shall be without blemish.7And he shall prepare a meat offering, an ephah for a bullock, and an ephah for a ram, and for the lambs according as his hand shall attain unto, and an hin of oil to an ephah.8And when the prince shall enter, he shall go in by the way of the porch of that gate, and he shall go forth by the way thereof.9But when the people of the land shall come before the LORD in the solemn feasts, he that entereth in by the way of the north gate to worship shall go out by the way of the south gate; and he that entereth by the way of the south gate shall go forth by the way of the north gate: he shall not return by the way of the gate whereby he came in, but shall go forth over against it.10And the prince in the midst of them, when they go in, shall go in; and when they go forth, shall go forth.11And in the feasts and in the solemnities the meat offering shall be an ephah to a bullock, and an ephah to a ram, and to the lambs as he is able to give, and an hin of oil to an ephah.12Now when the prince shall prepare a voluntary burnt offering or peace offerings voluntarily unto the LORD, one shall then open him the gate that looketh toward the east, and he shall prepare his burnt offering and his peace offerings, as he did on the sabbath day: then he shall go forth; and after his going forth one shall shut the gate.13Thou shalt daily prepare a burnt offering unto the LORD of a lamb of the first year without blemish: thou shalt prepare it every morning.14And thou shalt prepare a meat offering for it every morning, the sixth part of an ephah, and the third part of an hin of oil, to temper with the fine flour; a meat offering continually by a perpetual ordinance unto the LORD.15Thus shall they prepare the lamb, and the meat offering, and the oil, every morning for a continual burnt offering.16Thus saith the Lord GOD; If the prince give a gift unto any of his sons, the inheritance thereof shall be his sons' it shall be their possession by inheritance.17But if he give a gift of his inheritance to one of his servants, then it shall be his to the year of liberty; after it shall return to the prince: but his inheritance shall be his sons'for them.18Moreover the prince shall not take of the people' inheritance by oppression, to thrust them out of their possession; but he shall give his sons inheritance out of his own possession: that my people be not scattered every man from his possession.19After he brought me through the entry, which was at the side of the gate, into the holy chambers of the priests, which looked toward the north: and, behold, there was a place on the two sides westward.20Then said he unto me, This is the place where the priests shall boil the trespass offering and the sin offering, where they shall bake the meat offering; that they bear them not out into the utter court, to sanctify the people.21Then he brought me forth into the utter court, and caused me to pass by the four corners of the court; and, behold, in every corner of the court there was a court.22In the four corners of the court there were courts joined of forty cubits long and thirty broad: these four corners were of one measure.23And there was a row of building round about in them, round about them four, and it was made with boiling places under the rows round about.24Then said he unto me, These are the places of them that boil, where the ministers of the house shall boil the sacrifice of the people.
Ezekiel 46
New International Reader’s Version
1The LORD and King says, ‘On the six working days of each week you must keep the east gate of the inner courtyard of the temple shut. But open it on Sabbath days and during New Moon feasts.2The prince must enter the temple area through the porch of the gateway. He must stand by the gatepost. The priests must sacrifice his burnt offering and friendship offerings. He must bow down in worship at the entrance of the gateway. Then he must leave. But the gate will not be shut until evening.3On Sabbath days and during New Moon feasts the people of the land must gather together. They must gather at the entrance of the temple gateway. That is where they must worship me.4The prince must bring a burnt offering to me on the Sabbath day. It will be six male lambs and a ram. They must not have any flaws.5He must offer 15 kilograms of corn along with the ram. The corn he offers along with the lambs can be as much as he wants to give. He must also offer 4 litres of olive oil for every 15 kilograms of corn.6On the day of the New Moon feast the prince must make another offering. He must offer a young bull, six lambs and a ram. They must not have any flaws.7He must offer 15 kilograms of corn along with the bull or ram. The corn he offers along with the lambs can be as much as he wants to give. He must also offer 4 litres of olive oil for every 15 kilograms of corn.8Here is how the prince must enter the temple area. He must go in through the porch of the gateway. And he must leave the same way.9‘The people of the land must worship me at the appointed feasts. Those who enter through the north gate must leave through the south gate. Those who enter through the south gate must leave through the north gate. They must not leave through the same gate they entered. Each one must go out through the opposite gate.10The prince must be among them. He must go in when they go in. And he must leave when they leave.11At the yearly feasts and other appointed feasts there must be grain offerings. The prince must offer 15 kilograms of corn along with a bull or ram. The corn he offers along with the lambs can be as much as he wants to give. He must also offer 4 litres of olive oil for every 15 kilograms of corn.12‘He may also bring another offering to me because he chooses to. It might be a burnt offering or friendship offering. When he brings it, the east gate must be opened for him. He will bring his offering just as he does on the Sabbath day. Then he will leave. After he has gone out, the gate must be shut.13‘Every day you must provide a lamb that is a year old. It must not have any flaws. It is a burnt offering to me. You must provide it every morning.14You must also offer corn along with it every morning. Bring 2.5 kilograms of corn. Also bring 1.5 litres of olive oil to make the flour a little wet. So you will give the grain offering to me. That will be a law that will last for all time to come.15Provide the lamb, grain offering and oil every morning. They will be used for a regular burnt offering.’16The LORD and King says, ‘Suppose the prince makes a gift from his share of land. And he gives it to one of his sons. Then the property will also belong to his sons after him. It will be handed down to them.17But suppose he makes a gift from his share of land to one of his servants. Then the servant may keep it until the Year of Jubilee. After that, it will be returned to the prince. His property may be handed down only to his sons. It belongs to them.18The prince must not take any share of land that belongs to the people. He must not drive them off their property. He must give his sons their share out of his own property. Then not one of my people will be separated from their property.’19The man brought me through the entrance at the side of the north building. That’s where the priests’ sacred rooms were located. He showed me a place west of the building.20He said to me, ‘This is where the priests must cook the guilt offerings and sin offerings. They must also bake the grain offerings here. Then they will not have to bring the offerings into the outer courtyard. That will keep the people from touching the offerings and becoming holy.’21Then the man brought me to the outer courtyard. He led me around to its four corners. In each corner I saw another smaller courtyard.22So in the four corners of the outer courtyard were walled courtyards. Each one was 24 metres long and 18 metres wide. All of them were the same size.23Around the inside of each of the four courtyards was a stone ledge. Places for fire were built all around under each ledge.24The man said to me, ‘These are the kitchens. Those who serve at the temple must cook the people’s sacrifices here.’
