1 The Lord said to Moses,2 “Speak to the people of Israel, that they take for me a contribution. From every man whose heart moves him you shall receive the contribution for me. (Ex 35:4; Ex 35:5; Ex 35:21; Ex 35:29; Ex 36:2; Jud 5:2; 1Ch 29:5; Ezr 1:6; Ezr 2:68; Ezr 3:5; Ezr 7:16; Ne 11:2; 2Co 8:12; 2Co 9:7)3 And this is the contribution that you shall receive from them: gold, silver, and bronze,4 blue and purple and scarlet yarns and fine twined linen, goats’ hair, (Ex 26:1; Ex 26:31; Ex 26:36)5 tanned rams’ skins, goatskins,[1] acacia wood, (Ex 26:14)6 oil for the lamps, spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense, (Ex 27:20; Ex 30:7; Ex 30:23; Ex 30:34; Ex 31:11)7 onyx stones, and stones for setting, for the ephod and for the breastpiece. (Ex 28:4; Ex 28:15)8 And let them make me a sanctuary, that I may dwell in their midst. (Ex 29:45; Ex 36:1; 1Ki 6:13; 2Co 6:16; Heb 9:1; Re 21:3)9 Exactly as I show you concerning the pattern of the tabernacle, and of all its furniture, so you shall make it. (Ex 25:40; Ex 26:1)10 “They shall make an ark of acacia wood. Two cubits[2] and a half shall be its length, a cubit and a half its breadth, and a cubit and a half its height. (Ex 37:1; De 10:3; Heb 9:4)11 You shall overlay it with pure gold, inside and outside shall you overlay it, and you shall make on it a molding of gold around it. (Ex 25:24; Ex 30:3; Ex 37:2)12 You shall cast four rings of gold for it and put them on its four feet, two rings on the one side of it, and two rings on the other side of it. (Ex 37:3)13 You shall make poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold.14 And you shall put the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark to carry the ark by them.15 The poles shall remain in the rings of the ark; they shall not be taken from it. Two cubits and a half shall be its length, and a cubit and a half its breadth. Of one piece with the mercy seat shall you make the cherubim on its two ends. (1Ki 8:7; 1Ch 28:18; Heb 9:5)21 And you shall put the mercy seat on the top of the ark, and in the ark you shall put the testimony that I shall give you.22 There I will meet with you, and from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim that are on the ark of the testimony, I will speak with you about all that I will give you in commandment for the people of Israel. (Ex 25:11)25 And you shall make a rim around it a handbreadth[4] wide, and a molding of gold around the rim.26 And you shall make for it four rings of gold, and fasten the rings to the four corners at its four legs.27 Close to the frame the rings shall lie, as holders for the poles to carry the table. (Ex 26:29; Ex 30:4; Ex 36:34; Ex 37:14; Ex 37:27; Ex 38:5)28 You shall make the poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with gold, and the table shall be carried with these.29 And you shall make its plates and dishes for incense, and its flagons and bowls with which to pour drink offerings; you shall make them of pure gold. The lampstand shall be made of hammered work: its base, its stem, its cups, its calyxes, and its flowers shall be of one piece with it. (Ex 37:17; 1Ki 7:49; Zec 4:2; Heb 9:2; Re 1:12)32 And there shall be six branches going out of its sides, three branches of the lampstand out of one side of it and three branches of the lampstand out of the other side of it;33 three cups made like almond blossoms, each with calyx and flower, on one branch, and three cups made like almond blossoms, each with calyx and flower, on the other branch—so for the six branches going out of the lampstand.34 And on the lampstand itself there shall be four cups made like almond blossoms, with their calyxes and flowers,35 and a calyx of one piece with it under each pair of the six branches going out from the lampstand.36 Their calyxes and their branches shall be of one piece with it, the whole of it a single piece of hammered work of pure gold.37 You shall make seven lamps for it. And the lamps shall be set up so as to give light on the space in front of it. (Le 24:2; Nu 8:2; 2Ch 13:11)38 Its tongs and their trays shall be of pure gold.39 It shall be made, with all these utensils, out of a talent[5] of pure gold.40 And see that you make them after the pattern for them, which is being shown you on the mountain. You are to receive the offering for me from everyone whose heart prompts them to give.3 ‘These are the offerings you are to receive from them: ‘gold, silver and bronze;4 blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen; goat hair;5 ram skins dyed red and another type of durable leather[1]; acacia wood;6 olive oil for the light; spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense;7 and onyx stones and other gems to be mounted on the ephod and breastpiece.8 ‘Then let them make a sanctuary for me, and I will dwell among them.9 Make this tabernacle and all its furnishings exactly like the pattern I will show you.10 ‘Let them make an ark[2] of acacia wood – two and a half cubits long, a cubit and a half wide, and a cubit and a half high.[3]11 Overlay it with pure gold, both inside and out, and make a gold moulding around it.12 Cast four gold rings for it and fasten them to its four feet, with two rings on one side and two rings on the other.13 Then make poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold.14 Insert the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark to carry it.15 The poles are to remain in the rings of this ark; they are not to be removed.16 Then put in the ark the tablets of the covenant law, which I will give you.17 ‘Make an atonement cover of pure gold – two and a half cubits long and a cubit and a half wide.18 And make two cherubim out of hammered gold at the ends of the cover.19 Make one cherub on one end and the second cherub on the other; make the cherubim of one piece with the cover, at the two ends.20 The cherubim are to have their wings spread upwards, overshadowing the cover with them. The cherubim are to face each other, looking towards the cover.21 Place the cover on top of the ark and put in the ark the tablets of the covenant law that I will give you.22 There, above the cover between the two cherubim that are over the ark of the covenant law, I will meet with you and give you all my commands for the Israelites.23 ‘Make a table of acacia wood – two cubits long, a cubit wide and a cubit and a half high.[4]24 Overlay it with pure gold and make a gold moulding around it.25 Also make around it a rim a handbreadth[5] wide and put a gold moulding on the rim.26 Make four gold rings for the table and fasten them to the four corners, where the four legs are.27 The rings are to be close to the rim to hold the poles used in carrying the table.28 Make the poles of acacia wood, overlay them with gold and carry the table with them.29 And make its plates and dishes of pure gold, as well as its pitchers and bowls for the pouring out of offerings.30 Put the bread of the Presence on this table to be before me at all times.31 ‘Make a lampstand of pure gold. Hammer out its base and shaft, and make its flowerlike cups, buds and blossoms of one piece with them.32 Six branches are to extend from the sides of the lampstand – three on one side and three on the other.33 Three cups shaped like almond flowers with buds and blossoms are to be on one branch, three on the next branch, and the same for all six branches extending from the lampstand.34 And on the lampstand there are to be four cups shaped like almond flowers with buds and blossoms.35 One bud shall be under the first pair of branches extending from the lampstand, a second bud under the second pair, and a third bud under the third pair – six branches in all.36 The buds and branches shall all be of one piece with the lampstand, hammered out of pure gold.37 ‘Then make its seven lamps and set them up on it so that they light the space in front of it.38 Its wick trimmers and trays are to be of pure gold.39 A talent[6] of pure gold is to be used for the lampstand and all these accessories.40 See that you make them according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.

I will live among them.9 Make the holy tent and everything that belongs to it. Make them exactly like the pattern I will show you.10 ‘Let them make an ark out of acacia wood. It must be a chest 1.25 metres long and 75 centimetres wide and high.11 Cover it inside and outside with pure gold. Put a strip of gold around it.12 Make four gold rings for it. Join them to its four bottom corners. Put two rings on one side and two rings on the other.13 Then make poles out of acacia wood. Cover them with gold.14 Put the poles through the rings on the sides of the ark to carry it.15 The poles must remain in the rings of the ark. Do not remove them.16 I will give you the tablets of the covenant law. When I do, put them into the ark.17 ‘Make its cover out of pure gold. The cover is the place where sin will be paid for. Make it 1.25 metres long and 75 centimetres wide.18 Make two cherubim out of hammered gold at the ends of the cover.19 Put one of the cherubim on each end of it. They must be part of the lampstand itself.32 Six branches must come out from the sides of the lampstand. Make three on one side and three on the other.33 On one branch make three cups that are shaped like almond flowers with buds and blossoms. Then put three on the next branch. Do the same with all six branches that come out from the lampstand.34 On the lampstand there must be four cups that are shaped like almond flowers with buds and blossoms.35 One bud must be under the first pair of branches that come out from the lampstand. Put a second bud under the second pair. And put a third bud under the third pair. Make a total of six branches.36 The buds and branches must come out from the lampstand. The whole lampstand must be one piece hammered out of pure gold.37 ‘Then make its seven lamps. Set them up on it so that they light the space in front of it.38 The trays and wick cutters must be made out of pure gold.39 Use 36 kilograms of pure gold to make the lampstand and everything used with it.40 Be sure to make everything just like the pattern I showed you on the mountain.
