1 Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, O my soul! (Ps 135:1) 2 I will praise the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being. (Ps 63:4; Ps 104:33; Ps 145:2) 3 Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation. (Ps 60:11; Ps 108:12; Ps 118:8; Ps 118:9; Isa 2:22; Jer 17:5) 4 When his breath departs, he returns to the earth; on that very day his plans perish. (Job 10:9; Job 34:14; Ps 104:29; Ec 12:7) 5 Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God, (Ps 2:12; Ps 119:116; Ps 144:15) 6 who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, who keeps faith forever; (Ps 100:5; Ps 115:15; Ps 117:2) 7 who executes justice for the oppressed, who gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets the prisoners free; (Ps 68:6; Ps 103:6; Ps 105:20; Ps 107:9; Ps 145:15; Isa 61:1) 8 the Lord opens the eyes of the blind. The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down; the Lord loves the righteous. (Ps 11:7; Ps 145:14; Ps 147:6; Mt 9:30; Joh 9:7) 9 The Lord watches over the sojourners; he upholds the widow and the fatherless, but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin. (Ex 22:21; Ex 22:22; De 10:18; Ps 10:14; Ps 147:6) 10 The Lord will reign forever, your God, O Zion, to all generations. Praise the Lord! (Ps 10:16; Ps 146:1)

1 Halleluja! Lobe den HERRN, meine Seele! / 2 Ich will den HERRN loben, solange ich lebe, und meinem Gott lobsingen, solange ich bin. 3 Verlasset euch nicht auf Fürsten; sie sind Menschen, die können ja nicht helfen. (Ps 118:8; Jer 17:5) 4 Denn des Menschen Geist muss davon, / und er muss wieder zu Erde werden; dann sind verloren alle seine Pläne. (Ge 3:19; Ec 3:20) 5 Wohl dem, dessen Hilfe der Gott Jakobs ist, der seine Hoffnung setzt auf den HERRN, seinen Gott, (Jer 17:7) 6 der Himmel und Erde gemacht hat, das Meer und alles, was darinnen ist; der Treue hält ewiglich, / 7 der Recht schafft denen, die Gewalt leiden, der die Hungrigen speiset. Der HERR macht die Gefangenen frei. 8 Der HERR macht die Blinden sehend. Der HERR richtet auf, die niedergeschlagen sind. Der HERR liebt die Gerechten. (Ps 145:14) 9 Der HERR behütet die Fremdlinge / und erhält Waisen und Witwen; aber die Gottlosen führt er in die Irre. (Ex 22:20; Ps 1:6) 10 Der HERR ist König ewiglich, dein Gott, Zion, für und für. Halleluja! (Ps 93:1)
