1The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor;[1] he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;[2] (Ps 45:7; Ps 146:7; Isa 11:2; Isa 42:1; Isa 45:13; Isa 48:16; Lu 4:18)2to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; (Le 25:10; Isa 34:8)3to grant to those who mourn in Zion— to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified.[3] (Ps 45:7; Isa 28:5; Isa 60:21; Isa 61:10; Joh 15:8; Heb 1:9)4They shall build up the ancient ruins; they shall raise up the former devastations; they shall repair the ruined cities, the devastations of many generations. (Isa 58:12; Am 9:14)5Strangers shall stand and tend your flocks; foreigners shall be your plowmen and vinedressers; (Isa 14:2; Isa 60:10)6but you shall be called the priests of the Lord; they shall speak of you as the ministers of our God; you shall eat the wealth of the nations, and in their glory you shall boast. 1Der Geist Gottes des HERRN ist auf mir, weil der HERR mich gesalbt hat. Er hat mich gesandt, den Elenden gute Botschaft zu bringen, die zerbrochenen Herzen zu verbinden, zu verkündigen den Gefangenen die Freiheit, den Gebundenen, dass sie frei und ledig sein sollen; (Isa 11:2; Mt 11:5; Lu 4:18)2zu verkündigen ein gnädiges Jahr des HERRN und einen Tag der Rache unsres Gottes, zu trösten alle Trauernden, (Le 25:10; Le 25:13; Isa 63:4)3zu schaffen den Trauernden zu Zion, dass ihnen Schmuck statt Asche, Freudenöl statt Trauer, schöne Kleider statt eines betrübten Geistes gegeben werden, dass sie genannt werden »Bäume der Gerechtigkeit«, »Pflanzung des HERRN«, ihm zum Preise.4Sie werden die alten Trümmer wieder aufbauen und, was vorzeiten zerstört worden ist, wieder aufrichten; sie werden die verwüsteten Städte erneuern, die von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht zerstört gelegen haben. (Isa 58:12)5Fremde werden hintreten und eure Herden weiden, und Ausländer werden eure Ackerleute und Weingärtner sein. (Isa 60:10)6Ihr aber sollt Priester des HERRN heißen, und man wird euch Diener unsres Gottes nennen. Ihr werdet der Völker Güter essen und euch ihrer Herrlichkeit rühmen. (Ex 19:6; 1Pe 2:5; 1Pe 2:9)7Dafür, dass ihr doppelte Schmach trugt, und für die Schande sollen sie über ihren Anteil fröhlich sein. Denn sie sollen das Doppelte besitzen in ihrem Lande. Sie sollen ewige Freude haben.8Denn ich bin der HERR, der das Recht liebt und Raub und Unrecht hasst; ich will ihnen den Lohn in Treue geben und einen ewigen Bund mit ihnen schließen. (Isa 54:10; Isa 55:3)9Und man soll ihr Geschlecht kennen unter den Völkern und ihre Nachkommen unter den Nationen, dass, wer sie sehen wird, erkennen soll, dass sie ein Geschlecht sind, gesegnet vom HERRN.10Ich freue mich im HERRN, und meine Seele ist fröhlich in meinem Gott; denn er hat mir die Kleider des Heils angezogen und mich mit dem Mantel der Gerechtigkeit gekleidet, wie einen Bräutigam mit priesterlichem Kopfschmuck geziert und wie eine Braut, die in ihrem Geschmeide prangt. (Mt 22:11)11Denn gleichwie Gewächs aus der Erde wächst und Same im Garten aufgeht, so lässt Gott der HERR Gerechtigkeit aufgehen und Ruhm vor allen Völkern.
