1 “And you, son of man, prophesy against Gog and say, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am against you, O Gog, chief prince of Meshech^[1] and Tubal. (Eze 2:1; Eze 13:8; Eze 38:2; Eze 38:3)

3 Then I will strike your bow from your left hand, and will make your arrows drop out of your right hand. (Ps 76:3) 4 You shall fall on the mountains of Israel, you and all your hordes and the peoples who are with you. 5 You shall fall in the open field, for I have spoken, declares the Lord God. (Eze 17:21) 6 I will send fire on Magog and on those who dwell securely in the coastlands, and they shall know that I am the Lord. 7 “And my holy name I will make known in the midst of my people Israel, and I will not let my holy name be profaned anymore. And the nations shall know that I am the Lord, the Holy One in Israel. (Isa 45:11; Eze 20:39; Eze 36:23; Eze 39:22)

8 Behold, it is coming and it will be brought about, declares the Lord God. That is the day of which I have spoken. (Eze 21:7; Eze 38:17) 9 “Then those who dwell in the cities of Israel will go out and make fires of the weapons and burn them, shields and bucklers, bow and arrows, clubs^[3] and spears; and they will make fires of them for seven years, (1Sa 17:40; Ps 46:9; Isa 9:5) 10 so that they will not need to take wood out of the field or cut down any out of the forests, for they will make their fires of the weapons. They will seize the spoil of those who despoiled them, and plunder those who plundered them, declares the Lord God. (Isa 33:1; Eze 39:9) 11 “On that day I will give to Gog a place for burial in Israel, the Valley of the Travelers, east of the sea. It will block the travelers, for there Gog and all his multitude will be buried. It will be called the Valley of Hamon-gog.^[4] (Eze 38:2; Eze 39:15) 12 For seven months the house of Israel will be burying them, in order to cleanse the land. (De 21:23; Eze 39:14) 13 All the people of the land will bury them, and it will bring them renown on the day that I show my glory, declares the Lord God. (Eze 28:22) 14 They will set apart men to travel through the land regularly and bury those travelers remaining on the face of the land, so as to cleanse it. At^[5] the end of seven months they will make their search. (Eze 39:12) 15 And when these travel through the land and anyone sees a human bone, then he shall set up a sign by it, till the buriers have buried it in the Valley of Hamon-gog. (Eze 39:11) 16 (Hamonah^[6] is also the name of the city.) Thus shall they cleanse the land. 17 “As for you, son of man, thus says the Lord God: Speak to the birds of every sort and to all beasts of the field: ‘Assemble and come, gather from all around to the sacrificial feast that I am preparing for you, a great sacrificial feast on the mountains of Israel, and you shall eat flesh and drink blood. 18 You shall eat the flesh of the mighty, and drink the blood of the princes of the earth—of rams, of lambs, and of he-goats, of bulls, all of them fat beasts of Bashan. (Ps 22:12; Re 19:18) 19 And you shall eat fat till you are filled, and drink blood till you are drunk, at the sacrificial feast that I am preparing for you. 20 And you shall be filled at my table with horses and charioteers, with mighty men and all kinds of warriors,’ declares the Lord God. 21 “And I will set my glory among the nations, and all the nations shall see my judgment that I have executed, and my hand that I have laid on them. 22 The house of Israel shall know that I am the Lord their God, from that day forward. (Eze 6:7; Eze 39:28; Joe 2:27) 23 And the nations shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity, because they dealt so treacherously with me that I hid my face from them and gave them into the hand of their adversaries, and they all fell by the sword. (Le 26:25; De 29:24; De 31:17) 24 I dealt with them according to their uncleanness and their transgressions, and hid my face from them. (Eze 18:30)

The Lord Will Restore Israel

25 “Therefore thus says the Lord God: Now I will restore the fortunes of Jacob and have mercy on the whole house of Israel, and I will be jealous for my holy name. (Jer 30:3; Eze 5:13; Eze 20:9; Eze 20:40)

27 when I have brought them back from the peoples and gathered them from their enemies’ lands, and through them have vindicated my holiness in the sight of many nations. (Eze 11:17; Eze 20:41; Eze 28:25) 28 Then they shall know that I am the Lord their God, because I sent them into exile among the nations and then assembled them into their own land. I will leave none of them remaining among the nations anymore. 1 Und du, Menschenkind, weissage gegen Gog und sprich: So spricht Gott der HERR: Siehe, ich will an dich, Gog, der du der oberste Fürst bist von Meschech und Tubal. (Eze 38:2) 2 Ich will dich herumlenken und herbeilocken und dich heraufführen aus dem äußersten Norden und auf die Berge Israels bringen. 3 Und ich will dir den Bogen aus deiner linken Hand schlagen und die Pfeile aus deiner rechten Hand. 4 Auf den Bergen Israels sollst du fallen, du mit deinem ganzen Heer und mit den Völkern, die bei dir sind. Ich will dich den Raubvögeln, allem was fliegt, und den Tieren auf dem Felde zum Fraß geben. (Isa 18:6; Eze 17:1) 5 Du sollst auf freiem Felde fallen; denn ich habe es gesagt, spricht Gott der HERR. 6 Und ich will Feuer werfen auf Magog und auf die Bewohner der Inseln, die so sicher wohnen, und sie sollen erfahren, dass ich der HERR bin. 7 Und ich will meinen heiligen Namen kundmachen unter meinem Volk Israel und will meinen heiligen Namen nicht länger schänden lassen, sondern die Völker sollen erfahren, dass ich der HERR bin, der Heilige in Israel. 8 Siehe, es kommt und geschieht, spricht Gott der HERR; das ist der Tag, von dem ich geredet habe. 9 Und die Bewohner der Städte Israels werden herausgehen und Feuer anzünden und die Waffen verbrennen, kleine und große Schilde, Bogen und Pfeile, Keulen und Spieße. Und sie werden sieben Jahre lang Feuer damit machen; (Isa 9:4) 10 sie brauchen kein Holz auf dem Felde zu holen oder im Walde zu schlagen, sondern von den Waffen werden sie Feuer machen und werden ihre Räuber berauben und ihre Plünderer plündern, spricht Gott der HERR. (Jer 30:16; Eze 38:12; Zec 2:12) 11 Und zu der Zeit soll es geschehen, da will ich Gog einen Ort geben zum Begräbnis in Israel, nämlich das Tal der Wanderer östlich vom Meer, und das wird den Wanderern den Weg versperren. Dort wird man Gog mit seinem ganzen Heerhaufen begraben; und es soll heißen »Tal der Heerhaufen des Gog«. 12 Und das Haus Israel wird sie sieben Monate lang begraben, damit das Land gereinigt werde. 13 Ja, alles Volk des Landes wird sie begraben; und sie werden Ruhm davon haben an dem Tage, an dem ich meine Herrlichkeit erweise, spricht Gott der HERR. 14 Und sie werden Leute aussondern, die ständig im Lande umhergehen, die Leichen zu begraben, die noch auf dem Lande liegen, damit es gereinigt werde. Nach sieben Monaten sollen sie beginnen nachzuforschen. 15 Und wenn sie im Lande umhergehen und Menschengebeine sehen, sollen sie ein Zeichen aufrichten, bis die Totengräber sie auch im »Tal der Heerhaufen des Gog« begraben. 16 Auch soll eine Stadt Hamona, »Heerhaufen«, heißen. So werden sie das Land reinigen. 17 Du Menschenkind, so spricht Gott der HERR: Sage den Vögeln, allem was fliegt, und allen Tieren auf dem Felde: Sammelt euch und kommt herbei, findet euch zusammen von überall her zu meinem Schlachtopfer, das ich euch schlachte, einem großen Schlachtopfer auf den Bergen Israels, und fresst Fleisch und sauft Blut! (Re 19:17) 18 Fleisch der Starken sollt ihr fressen, und Blut der Fürsten auf Erden sollt ihr saufen, der Widder und Lämmer, der Böcke und Stiere, all des Mastviehs aus Baschan. 19 Und ihr sollt Fett fressen, bis ihr satt werdet, und Blut saufen, bis ihr trunken seid von dem Schlachtopfer, das ich euch schlachte. 20 Sättigt euch von Rossen und Reitern, von Starken und all den Kriegsleuten an meinem Tisch, spricht Gott der HERR. 21 Und ich will meine Herrlichkeit unter die Völker bringen, dass alle Völker mein Gericht sehen sollen, das ich gehalten habe, und meine Hand, die ich an sie gelegt habe. 22 Und das Haus Israel soll erfahren, dass ich, der HERR, ihr Gott bin, von dem Tage an und fernerhin, 23 und die Völker sollen erfahren, dass das Haus Israel um seiner Missetat willen weggeführt worden ist. Weil sie sich an mir versündigt hatten, darum habe ich mein Angesicht vor ihnen verborgen und habe sie übergeben in die Hände ihrer Widersacher, dass sie allesamt durchs Schwert fallen mussten. (Isa 54:8) 24 Ich habe ihnen getan, was sie mit ihrer Unreinheit und ihren Übertretungen verdient haben, und habe mein Angesicht vor ihnen verborgen. 25 Darum, so spricht Gott der HERR: Nun will ich das Geschick Jakobs wenden und mich des ganzen Hauses Israel erbarmen und um meinen heiligen Namen eifern. (Eze 16:53) 26 Sie aber sollen ihre Schmach tragen und alle ihre Sünde, mit der sie sich an mir versündigt haben, wenn sie nun sicher in ihrem Lande wohnen und niemand sie schreckt 27 und ich sie aus den Völkern zurückgebracht und aus den Ländern ihrer Feinde gesammelt und an ihnen vor den Augen vieler Völker gezeigt habe, dass ich heilig bin. 28 Dann werden sie erfahren, dass ich, der HERR, ihr Gott bin, der ich sie unter die Völker weggeführt habe und wieder in ihr Land sammle und nicht einen von ihnen dort zurücklasse. 29 Und ich will mein Angesicht nicht mehr vor ihnen verbergen; denn ich habe meinen Geist über das Haus Israel ausgegossen, spricht Gott der HERR.
