1Now it is superfluous for me to write to you about the ministry for the saints, (Ro 15:25; 1Th 4:9)2for I know your readiness, of which I boast about you to the people of Macedonia, saying that Achaia has been ready since last year. And your zeal has stirred up most of them. (2Co 8:10; 2Co 8:24)3But I am sending[1] the brothers so that our boasting about you may not prove empty in this matter, so that you may be ready, as I said you would be. (1Co 16:2; 2Co 8:6; 2Co 8:17; 2Co 8:22)4Otherwise, if some Macedonians come with me and find that you are not ready, we would be humiliated—to say nothing of you—for being so confident. The Cheerful Giver
6The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully[4] will also reap bountifully. (Pr 11:24; Pr 22:9; Mal 3:10; Lu 6:38; Ga 6:7; Ga 6:9)7Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. (Ex 25:2; De 15:10; 2Co 8:12)8And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency[5] in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. (Eph 3:2; Php 4:19)9As it is written, “He has distributed freely, he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever.” (Ps 112:9)10He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness. (Isa 55:10; Ho 10:12)11You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God. (1Co 1:5; 2Co 1:11)12For the ministry of this service is not only supplying the needs of the saints but is also overflowing in many thanksgivings to God. (2Co 8:14)13By their approval of this service, they[6] will glorify God because of your submission that comes from your confession of the gospel of Christ, and the generosity of your contribution for them and for all others, (Mt 5:16; 1Ti 6:12; Heb 3:1; Heb 4:14; Heb 10:23; 1Pe 2:12)14while they long for you and pray for you, because of the surpassing grace of God upon you.15Thanks be to God for his inexpressible gift! Der Segen des Gebens
1Von dem Dienst, der für die Heiligen geschieht, brauche ich euch nicht zu schreiben. (2Co 8:4)2Denn ich weiß von eurem guten Willen, den ich an euch rühme bei denen aus Makedonien und sage: Achaia ist schon voriges Jahr bereit gewesen! Und euer Beispiel hat die meisten angespornt. (2Co 8:10)3Ich habe aber die Brüder gesandt, damit nicht unser Rühmen über euch zunichtewerde in diesem Stück und damit ihr vorbereitet seid, wie ich gesagt habe,4dass nicht, wenn die aus Makedonien mit mir kommen und euch nicht vorbereitet finden, wir – um nicht zu sagen ihr – zuschanden würden mit dieser unsrer Zuversicht.5So habe ich es nun für nötig angesehen, die Brüder zu ermahnen, dass sie voranzögen zu euch, um eure angekündigte Segensgabe vorher bereitzustellen, sodass sie bereitliegt als eine Gabe des Segens und nicht des Geizes.6Ich meine aber dies: Wer da kärglich sät, der wird auch kärglich ernten; und wer da sät im Segen, der wird auch ernten im Segen. (Pr 11:24)7Ein jeder, wie er’s sich im Herzen vorgenommen hat, nicht mit Unwillen oder aus Zwang; denn einen fröhlichen Geber hat Gott lieb. (De 15:10)8Gott aber kann machen, dass alle Gnade unter euch reichlich sei, damit ihr in allen Dingen allezeit volle Genüge habt und noch reich seid zu jedem guten Werk;9wie geschrieben steht: »Er hat ausgestreut und den Armen gegeben; seine Gerechtigkeit bleibt in Ewigkeit.«10Der aber Samen gibt dem Sämann und Brot zur Speise, der wird auch euch Samen geben und ihn mehren und wachsen lassen die Früchte eurer Gerechtigkeit. (Isa 55:10)11So werdet ihr reich sein in allen Dingen, zu geben in aller Lauterkeit, die durch uns wirkt Danksagung an Gott.12Denn der Dienst dieser Sammlung füllt nicht allein aus, woran es den Heiligen mangelt, sondern wirkt auch überschwänglich darin, dass viele Gott danken.13Um dieses treuen Dienstes willen preisen sie Gott für euren Gehorsam im Bekenntnis zum Evangelium Christi und für die Lauterkeit eurer Gemeinschaft mit ihnen und allen.14Und in ihrem Gebet für euch sehnen sie sich nach euch wegen der überschwänglichen Gnade Gottes bei euch.15Gott aber sei Dank für seine unaussprechliche Gabe!
