1First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people,2for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. (Ezr 6:10; 1Ti 3:4)3This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, (1Ti 1:1; 1Ti 5:4)4who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. (Eze 18:23; Eze 18:32; 1Ti 4:10; 2Ti 2:25; 2Ti 3:7; Tit 1:1; Heb 10:26)5For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man[1] Christ Jesus, (Ga 3:20)6who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time. (Mt 20:28; 1Co 1:6; Ga 4:4; 1Ti 6:15; Tit 1:3)7For this I was appointed a preacher and an apostle (I am telling the truth, I am not lying), a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth. (Ac 9:15; Ro 9:1; Eph 3:7; 1Ti 1:11; 2Ti 1:11)8I desire then that in every place the men should pray, lifting holy hands without anger or quarreling; (Job 17:9; Ps 24:4; Ps 63:4; Ps 119:48; Isa 1:15; Joh 4:21)9likewise also that women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire, (Isa 3:18; 1Pe 3:3)10but with what is proper for women who profess godliness—with good works. (1Pe 3:4)11Let a woman learn quietly with all submissiveness. (Tit 2:5)12I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet. (1Co 14:34)13For Adam was formed first, then Eve; (Ge 1:27; Ge 2:8; Ge 2:18; Ge 2:22)14and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor. (Ge 3:6; Ge 3:13)15Yet she will be saved through childbearing—if they continue in faith and love and holiness, with self-control. (Ga 4:4; 1Ti 1:14)
1So ermahne ich nun, dass man vor allen Dingen tue Bitte, Gebet, Fürbitte und Danksagung für alle Menschen,2für die Könige und für alle Obrigkeit, damit wir ein ruhiges und stilles Leben führen können in aller Frömmigkeit und Ehrbarkeit.3Dies ist gut und wohlgefällig vor Gott, unserm Heiland,4welcher will, dass alle Menschen gerettet werden und sie zur Erkenntnis der Wahrheit kommen. (Eze 18:23; Ro 11:32; 2Pe 3:9)5Denn es ist ein Gott und ein Mittler zwischen Gott und den Menschen, nämlich der Mensch Christus Jesus, (Heb 9:15)6der sich selbst gegeben hat als Lösegeld für alle, als Zeugnis zur rechten Zeit. (Ga 1:4; Ga 2:20; 1Ti 6:13; Tit 2:14)7Dazu bin ich eingesetzt als Prediger und Apostel – ich sage die Wahrheit und lüge nicht –, als Lehrer der Heiden im Glauben und in der Wahrheit. (Ga 2:7; 2Ti 1:11)
Männer und Frauen im Gottesdienst
8So will ich nun, dass die Männer beten an allen Orten und aufheben heilige Hände ohne Zorn und Zweifel.9Desgleichen, dass die Frauen in schicklicher Kleidung sich schmücken mit Anstand und Besonnenheit, nicht mit Haarflechten und Gold oder Perlen oder kostbarem Gewand, (1Pe 3:3)10sondern, wie sich’s ziemt für Frauen, die ihre Frömmigkeit bekunden wollen, mit guten Werken. (1Ti 5:10)11Eine Frau lerne in der Stille mit aller Unterordnung. (Eph 5:22)12Einer Frau gestatte ich nicht, dass sie lehre, auch nicht, dass sie über den Mann herrsche, sondern sie sei still. (Ge 3:16; 1Co 14:34)13Denn Adam wurde zuerst gemacht, danach Eva.14Und Adam wurde nicht verführt, die Frau aber wurde verführt und übertrat das Gebot. (Ge 3:6)15Sie wird aber gerettet werden dadurch, dass sie Kinder zur Welt bringt, wenn sie bleiben mit Besonnenheit im Glauben und in der Liebe und in der Heiligung. (1Ti 5:14; Tit 2:4)
