1In the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, this word came from the Lord: (2Ki 23:36; 2Ch 36:5; Jer 27:1)2“Thus says the Lord: Stand in the court of the Lord’s house, and speak to all the cities of Judah that come to worship in the house of the Lord all the words that I command you to speak to them; do not hold back a word. (De 4:2; De 12:32; Jer 19:14; Eze 3:10; Ac 20:27)3It may be they will listen, and every one turn from his evil way, that I may relent of the disaster that I intend to do to them because of their evil deeds. (Jer 4:4; Jer 18:8; Jer 26:13; Jer 26:19; Jer 36:3)4You shall say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord: If you will not listen to me, to walk in my law that I have set before you, (Le 26:14; De 28:15)5and to listen to the words of my servants the prophets whom I send to you urgently, though you have not listened, (Jer 25:3)6then I will make this house like Shiloh, and I will make this city a curse for all the nations of the earth.’” (Jer 7:12; Jer 24:9)7The priests and the prophets and all the people heard Jeremiah speaking these words in the house of the Lord. (Jer 23:33)8And when Jeremiah had finished speaking all that the Lord had commanded him to speak to all the people, then the priests and the prophets and all the people laid hold of him, saying, “You shall die! (Jer 26:7)9Why have you prophesied in the name of the Lord, saying, ‘This house shall be like Shiloh, and this city shall be desolate, without inhabitant’?” And all the people gathered around Jeremiah in the house of the Lord. (Jer 4:7; Jer 26:6)10When the officials of Judah heard these things, they came up from the king’s house to the house of the Lord and took their seat in the entry of the New Gate of the house of the Lord. (Jer 36:10; Jer 36:12)11Then the priests and the prophets said to the officials and to all the people, “This man deserves the sentence of death, because he has prophesied against this city, as you have heard with your own ears.” (Jer 26:7; Jer 26:16; Jer 38:4)12Then Jeremiah spoke to all the officials and all the people, saying, “The Lord sent me to prophesy against this house and this city all the words you have heard.13Now therefore mend your ways and your deeds, and obey the voice of the Lord your God, and the Lord will relent of the disaster that he has pronounced against you. (De 30:2; Jer 7:3; Jer 26:3)14But as for me, behold, I am in your hands. Do with me as seems good and right to you. (Jos 9:25)15Only know for certain that if you put me to death, you will bring innocent blood upon yourselves and upon this city and its inhabitants, for in truth the Lord sent me to you to speak all these words in your ears.” (Mt 27:24)
Jeremiah Spared from Death
16Then the officials and all the people said to the priests and the prophets, “This man does not deserve the sentence of death, for he has spoken to us in the name of the Lord our God.” (Jer 26:8; Jer 26:11)17And certain of the elders of the land arose and spoke to all the assembled people, saying, (Jer 19:1; Ac 5:34)18“Micah of Moresheth prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and said to all the people of Judah: ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts, “Zion shall be plowed as a field; Jerusalem shall become a heap of ruins, and the mountain of the house a wooded height.’ (Mic 3:12)19Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah put him to death? Did he not fear the Lord and entreat the favor of the Lord, and did not the Lord relent of the disaster that he had pronounced against them? But we are about to bring great disaster upon ourselves.” (Ex 32:14; 2Sa 24:16; 1Ki 13:6; 2Ch 32:26; Ac 5:39)20There was another man who prophesied in the name of the Lord, Uriah the son of Shemaiah from Kiriath-jearim. He prophesied against this city and against this land in words like those of Jeremiah. (Jos 9:17; 1Sa 6:21; 1Sa 7:1; 1Ch 13:5)21And when King Jehoiakim, with all his warriors and all the officials, heard his words, the king sought to put him to death. But when Uriah heard of it, he was afraid and fled and escaped to Egypt. (Jer 26:1; Jer 27:1)22Then King Jehoiakim sent to Egypt certain men, Elnathan the son of Achbor and others with him, (2Ki 22:12; 2Ki 22:14; Jer 26:21; Jer 36:12; Jer 36:25)23and they took Uriah from Egypt and brought him to King Jehoiakim, who struck him down with the sword and dumped his dead body into the burial place of the common people. (Ne 9:26; Jer 22:17; Mt 21:35; Mt 23:37)24But the hand of Ahikam the son of Shaphan was with Jeremiah so that he was not given over to the people to be put to death. (2Ki 22:12)

(Jer 18:8; Jer 36:3)4Und sprich zu ihnen: So spricht der HERR: Werdet ihr mir nicht gehorchen und nicht nach meiner Weisung wandeln, die ich euch vorgelegt habe,5und nicht hören auf die Worte meiner Knechte, der Propheten, die ich immer wieder zu euch gesandt habe und auf die ihr doch nicht hören wolltet, (Jer 7:25; Jer 25:4)6so will ich’s mit diesem Hause machen wie mit Silo und will diese Stadt zum Fluchwort machen bei allen Völkern auf Erden. (2Ki 25:9; Ps 78:60; Jer 7:12)7Und die Priester, Propheten und alles Volk hörten Jeremia, dass er solche Worte redete im Hause des HERRN.8Da nun Jeremia alles gesagt hatte, was ihm der HERR befohlen hatte, allem Volk zu sagen, ergriffen ihn die Priester, Propheten und das ganze Volk und sprachen: Du musst sterben!9Warum weissagst du im Namen des HERRN: »Es wird diesem Hause gehen wie Silo, und diese Stadt soll so wüst werden, dass niemand mehr darin wohnt«? Und das ganze Volk sammelte sich im Hause des HERRN wider Jeremia.10Als das die Oberen von Juda hörten, gingen sie aus des Königs Hause hinauf ins Haus des HERRN und setzten sich an den Eingang des neuen Tors am Hause des HERRN. (Jer 36:10)11Und die Priester und Propheten sprachen vor den Oberen und allem Volk: Dieser Mann ist des Todes schuldig; denn er hat geweissagt gegen diese Stadt, wie ihr mit eigenen Ohren gehört habt. (Ac 6:13)12Aber Jeremia sprach zu allen Oberen und zu allem Volk: Der HERR hat mich gesandt, dass ich dies alles, was ihr gehört habt, weissagen sollte gegen dies Haus und gegen diese Stadt.13So bessert nun eure Wege und euer Tun und gehorcht der Stimme des HERRN, eures Gottes, so wird den HERRN auch gereuen das Übel, das er gegen euch geredet hat. (Jer 7:3; Jer 18:11)14Ich aber, seht, ich bin in eurer Hand; macht mit mir, wie es euch gut und recht dünkt. (Jos 9:25)15Doch sollt ihr wissen: Wenn ihr mich tötet, so werdet ihr unschuldiges Blut auf euch laden, auf diese Stadt und ihre Einwohner. Denn wahrlich, der HERR hat mich zu euch gesandt, dass ich dies alles vor euren Ohren reden soll. (Jer 7:6; Jer 22:3)16Da sprachen die Oberen und das ganze Volk zu den Priestern und Propheten: Dieser Mann ist des Todes nicht schuldig; denn er hat zu uns geredet im Namen des HERRN, unseres Gottes.17Und es standen auf etliche von den Ältesten des Landes und sprachen zu dem versammelten Volk:18Zur Zeit Hiskias, des Königs von Juda, war ein Prophet, Micha von Moreschet; der sprach zum ganzen Volk Juda: »So spricht der HERR Zebaoth: Zion wird wie ein Acker gepflügt werden, und Jerusalem wird zu Steinhaufen werden und der Berg des Tempels zu einer Höhe wilden Gestrüpps.« (Jer 9:10; Mic 3:12)19Ließ ihn denn Hiskia, der König von Juda, und das ganze Juda deswegen töten? Fürchtete er nicht vielmehr den HERRN und flehte zu ihm? Da reute auch den HERRN das Übel, das er gegen sie geredet hatte. Wir aber würden großes Unheil über uns bringen. (Ex 32:11; 2Ki 13:4; 2Ch 33:12; Jer 3:1; Jer 18:8)
Hinrichtung des Propheten Uria
20Da war noch einer, der im Namen des HERRN weissagte, Uria, der Sohn Schemajas, von Kirjat-Jearim. Der weissagte gegen diese Stadt und gegen dies Land ganz wie Jeremia.21Als aber der König Jojakim und alle seine Gewaltigen und Oberen seine Worte hörten, wollte ihn der König töten lassen. Und Uria erfuhr das, fürchtete sich und floh und kam nach Ägypten.22Aber der König Jojakim schickte Leute nach Ägypten, Elnatan, den Sohn Achbors, und andere mit ihm.23Die holten Uria aus Ägypten und brachten ihn zum König Jojakim. Der ließ ihn mit dem Schwert töten und seinen Leichnam zu den Gräbern des niederen Volks werfen.24Aber mit Jeremia war die Hand Ahikams, des Sohnes Schafans, sodass man ihn nicht dem Volk in die Hände gab, das ihn getötet hätte. (2Ki 22:12)
1Au début du règne de Jojakim, fils de Josias, sur Juda, cette parole fut adressée à Jérémie par l'Eternel:2«Voici ce que dit l'Eternel: Tiens-toi dans le parvis de la maison de l'Eternel et dis à ceux qui viennent de toutes les villes de Juda pour se prosterner dans la maison de l'Eternel toutes les paroles que je t'ordonne de leur dire. N'en oublie aucune.3Peut-être écouteront-ils et renonceront-ils chacun à leur mauvaise conduite. Alors je n'accomplirai pas le mal que j'avais prévu de leur faire à cause de la méchanceté de leurs agissements.4Tu leur diras: ‘Voici ce que dit l'Eternel: Si vous ne m'écoutez pas, si vous refusez de suivre ma loi, celle que j'ai mise devant vous,5si vous refusez d'écouter les paroles de mes serviteurs les prophètes, ceux que je vous envoie, que je vous envoie inlassablement mais que vous n'écoutez pas,6alors je traiterai ce temple comme Silo et je ferai de cette ville un objet de malédiction pour toutes les nations de la terre.’»7Les prêtres, les prophètes et tout le peuple entendirent Jérémie prononcer ces paroles dans la maison de l'Eternel.8Il finissait de dire à tout le peuple tout ce que l'Eternel lui avait ordonné de dire lorsque les prêtres, les prophètes et tout le peuple s'emparèrent de lui en disant: «Tu vas mourir!9Pourquoi prophétises-tu au nom de l'Eternel en disant: ‘Ce temple sera comme Silo et cette ville sera dévastée, inhabitée’?» Tout le peuple s'attroupa autour de Jérémie dans la maison de l'Eternel.10Lorsque les chefs de Juda apprirent ce qui se passait, ils montèrent du palais royal jusqu'à la maison de l'Eternel et s'assirent à l'entrée de la porte neuve.11Alors les prêtres et les prophètes dirent aux chefs et à tout le peuple: «Cet homme mérite d'être condamné à mort, car il a prophétisé contre cette ville, comme vous l'avez entendu de vos propres oreilles.»12Jérémie dit à tous les chefs et à tout le peuple: «C'est l'Eternel qui m'a envoyé pour prophétiser contre ce temple et contre cette ville toutes les paroles que vous avez entendues.13Maintenant, corrigez votre conduite et votre manière d'agir, écoutez l'Eternel, votre Dieu, et il n'accomplira pas le mal qu'il avait l'intention de vous faire.14Quant à moi, je suis entre vos mains: traitez-moi comme vous l'estimez bon et juste!15Seulement, sachez bien que, si vous me faites mourir, vous vous rendrez coupables d'avoir versé le sang innocent, vous, cette ville et ses habitants. En effet, c'est vraiment l'Eternel qui m'a envoyé vers vous pour vous faire entendre toutes ces paroles.»16Les chefs et tout le peuple dirent aux prêtres et aux prophètes: «Cet homme ne mérite pas d'être condamné à mort, car c'est au nom de l'Eternel, notre Dieu, qu'il nous a parlé.»17De plus, des anciens du pays se levèrent et dirent à toute l'assemblée:18«Michée de Morésheth prophétisait à l'époque du règne d'Ezéchias sur Juda, et il disait à tout le peuple de Juda: ‘Voici ce que dit l'Eternel, le maître de l'univers: Sion sera labourée comme un champ, Jérusalem deviendra un tas de pierres, et le mont du temple une hauteur couverte de buissons.’[1] (Mic 3:12)19Ezéchias, roi de Juda, et tout Juda l'ont-ils fait mourir? Ezéchias n'a-t-il pas craint l'Eternel? N'a-t-il pas plutôt cherché à apaiser l'Eternel? Alors l'Eternel n'a pas accompli le mal qu'il avait l'intention de leur faire. Et nous, nous nous rendrions coupables d'un si grand crime?»20Il y avait un autre homme qui prophétisait au nom de l'Eternel: Urie, fils de Shemaeja, de Kirjath-Jearim. Il transmit contre cette ville et contre ce pays exactement les mêmes prophéties que Jérémie.21Le roi Jojakim, tous ses vaillants hommes et tous ses chefs entendirent ses paroles, et le roi chercha à le faire mourir. Urie en fut informé. Il eut peur, prit la fuite et se rendit en Egypte.22Le roi Jojakim envoya des hommes en Egypte: Elnathan, fils d'Acbor, et quelques autres avec lui.23Ils firent sortir Urie d'Egypte et l'amenèrent au roi Jojakim. Celui-ci le fit mourir par l'épée et jeta son cadavre dans la fosse commune.24Cependant, Achikam, fils de Shaphan, intervint en faveur de Jérémie et empêcha qu'il ne soit livré au peuple pour être mis à mort.
