1For the Lord will have compassion on Jacob and will again choose Israel, and will set them in their own land, and sojourners will join them and will attach themselves to the house of Jacob. (2Ch 36:22; Ps 102:13; Zec 1:17; Zec 8:22; Eph 2:12)2And the peoples will take them and bring them to their place, and the house of Israel will possess them in the Lord’s land as male and female slaves.[1] They will take captive those who were their captors, and rule over those who oppressed them. Israel’s Remnant Taunts Babylon
3When the Lord has given you rest from your pain and turmoil and the hard service with which you were made to serve,4you will take up this taunt against the king of Babylon: “How the oppressor has ceased, the insolent fury[2] ceased! (Jer 51:13; Mic 2:4; Hab 2:6; Re 18:16)5The Lord has broken the staff of the wicked, the scepter of rulers, (Isa 9:4)6that struck the peoples in wrath with unceasing blows, that ruled the nations in anger with unrelenting persecution. (Jer 50:23)7The whole earth is at rest and quiet; they break forth into singing. (Isa 44:23; Isa 49:13; Isa 54:1; Isa 55:12)8The cypresses rejoice at you, the cedars of Lebanon, saying, ‘Since you were laid low, no woodcutter comes up against us.’ (Isa 2:13; Isa 37:24; Eze 31:16)9Sheol beneath is stirred up to meet you when you come; it rouses the shades to greet you, all who were leaders of the earth; it raises from their thrones all who were kings of the nations.10All of them will answer and say to you: ‘You too have become as weak as we! You have become like us!’ (Jer 51:48)11Your pomp is brought down to Sheol, the sound of your harps; maggots are laid as a bed beneath you, and worms are your covers.12“How you are fallen from heaven, O Day Star, son of Dawn! An Oracle Concerning Assyria
24The Lord of hosts has sworn: “As I have planned, so shall it be, and as I have purposed, so shall it stand, (Pr 19:21)25that I will break the Assyrian in my land, and on my mountains trample him underfoot; and his yoke shall depart from them, and his burden from their shoulder.” (Isa 9:4; Isa 10:27; Isa 37:36)26This is the purpose that is purposed concerning the whole earth, and this is the hand that is stretched out over all the nations. (De 4:34)27For the Lord of hosts has purposed, and who will annul it? His hand is stretched out, and who will turn it back? (2Ch 20:6; Job 9:12; Ps 33:11; Pr 21:30; Isa 14:26; Da 4:31; Da 4:33; Da 4:35)
An Oracle Concerning Philistia
28In the year that King Ahaz died came this oracle: (2Ki 16:20; Isa 13:1)29Rejoice not, O Philistia, all of you, that the rod that struck you is broken, for from the serpent’s root will come forth an adder, and its fruit will be a flying fiery serpent. (Ex 15:14; Nu 21:6; Ps 60:8; Ps 87:4; Ps 108:9; Isa 10:24; Isa 30:6; Jer 46:22)30And the firstborn of the poor will graze, and the needy lie down in safety; but I will kill your root with famine, and your remnant it will slay. (Isa 29:19; Zep 3:12)31Wail, O gate; cry out, O city; melt in fear, O Philistia, all of you! For smoke comes out of the north, and there is no straggler in his ranks. (Isa 34:3)20Du wirst nicht mit jenen vereint sein im Grab; denn du hast dein Land verderbt und dein Volk erschlagen. Man wird des Geschlechtes der Bösen nicht mehr gedenken.21Richtet die Schlachtbank zu für seine Söhne um der Missetat ihrer Väter willen, dass sie nicht wieder hochkommen und die Welt erobern und den Erdkreis mit Städten füllen. (Ex 20:5)22Und ich will über sie kommen, spricht der HERR Zebaoth, und von Babel ausrotten Name und Rest, Kind und Kindeskind, spricht der HERR.23Und ich will Babel machen zum Erbe für die Igel und zu einem Wassersumpf und will es mit dem Besen des Verderbens wegfegen, spricht der HERR Zebaoth. Gegen Assyrien
24Der HERR Zebaoth hat geschworen: Wie ich es erdacht habe, so ist es geschehen, und was ich beschlossen habe, das kommt zustande, (Isa 46:10)25dass ich Assur zerschlage in meinem Lande und zertrete auf meinen Bergen, damit sein Joch von ihnen genommen werde und seine Last von ihrem Halse weiche. (Isa 9:3; Isa 10:27)26Das ist der Plan, den er hat für die ganze Erde, und das ist die Hand, die ausgereckt ist über alle Völker.27Denn der HERR Zebaoth hat’s beschlossen – wer will’s wehren? Und seine Hand ist ausgereckt – wer will sie wenden?
Gegen die Philister
28Im Jahr, als König Ahas starb, wurde diese Last[2] angekündigt: (2Ki 16:20; Jer 47:1)29Freue dich nicht, ganz Philisterland, dass der Stock, der dich schlug, zerbrochen ist! Denn aus der Wurzel der Schlange wird eine giftige Natter kommen, und ihre Frucht wird eine fliegende Schlange sein. (Isa 30:6)30Die Geringen werden auf meiner Aue weiden und die Armen sicher ruhen; aber deine Wurzel will ich durch Hunger töten, und deine Übriggebliebenen werde ich erwürgen.31Heule, Tor! Schreie, Stadt! Erzittere, ganz Philisterland! Denn von Norden kommt Rauch und keiner sondert sich ab von seinen Scharen.32Und was wird man den Boten der Völker sagen? »Der HERR hat Zion gegründet, und hier finden die Elenden seines Volks Zuflucht.« (Isa 8:16)

On ne mentionnera plus jamais la descendance des méchants.»21Préparez le massacre des fils à cause de la faute de leurs pères! Qu'ils ne se relèvent pas pour conquérir la terre et couvrir la surface du monde de villes!22Je me dresserai contre eux, déclare l'Eternel, le maître de l'univers. Je supprimerai le nom et le reste de Babylone, leurs enfants et petits-enfants, déclare l'Eternel.
Prophétie sur l'Assyrie
23Je ferai d'elle le domaine du hérisson et un marécage, et je la balaierai à l'aide du balai de la destruction, déclare l'Eternel, le maître de l'univers.24L'Eternel, le maître de l'univers, en a fait le serment: «Oui, tout se passera comme je l'ai projeté, ce que j'ai décidé s'accomplira.25Je mettrai l'Assyrien en pièces dans mon pays, je le piétinerai sur mes montagnes, si bien que la domination qu'il exerçait sur eux sera écartée, le fardeau qu'il faisait peser sur eux sera retiré.»26Voilà la décision qui a été prise contre toute la terre, telle est la puissance qui est déployée contre toutes les nations.27L'Eternel, le maître de l'univers, a pris une décision. Qui pourrait y faire échec? Sa puissance est déployée. Qui pourrait l'écarter?
Prophétie contre les Philistins
28Voici le message prononcé l'année de la mort du roi Achaz.29Ne te réjouis pas, Philistie tout entière, de ce que le gourdin qui te frappait a été mis en pièces! En effet, de la racine du serpent sortira une vipère, et son rejeton sera un serpent venimeux volant.30Alors les premiers-nés des plus faibles auront de quoi se nourrir, et les pauvres pourront se reposer en toute sécurité. En revanche, je ferai mourir de faim ta racine et ce qui restera de toi sera tué.31Porte, pousse des gémissements! Ville, lamente-toi! Tremble, Philistie tout entière, car une fumée arrive du nord: c'est une troupe aux rangs serrés.32Que répondra-t-on aux messagers de la nation? Que c'est l'Eternel qui a fondé Sion et que les malheureux de son peuple y trouveront refuge.
