Glorious Things of You Are Spoken

A Psalm of the Sons of Korah. A Song.

1 On the holy mount stands the city he founded; (Ps 48:1; Isa 28:16) 2 the LORD loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwelling places of Jacob. (Ps 78:67; Ps 78:68) 3 Glorious things of you are spoken, O city of God. Selah (Ps 46:4; Isa 60:1) 4 Among those who know me I mention Rahab and Babylon; behold, Philistia and Tyre, with Cush^[1]— “This one was born there,” they say. (Job 9:13; Ps 36:10; Ps 68:31; Isa 19:22; Joh 10:14)

5 And of Zion it shall be said, “This one and that one were born in her”; for the Most High himself will establish her. (Ps 48:8) 6 The LORD records as he registers the peoples, “This one was born there.” Selah (Ps 69:28) 7 Singers and dancers alike say, “All my springs are in you.” (2Sa 6:14; Ps 36:9; Ps 68:25; Isa 12:3; Re 21:6)

Zion, die Mutter der Völker

1 Ein Psalmlied der Korachiter. Sie ist fest gegründet auf den heiligen Bergen. 2 Der HERR liebt die Tore Zions mehr als alle Wohnungen Jakobs. 3 Herrliche Dinge sagt man von dir, du Stadt Gottes. Sela. 4 »Ich zähle Ägypten und Babel zu denen, die mich kennen, auch die Philister und Tyrer samt den Kuschitern: Die sind dort geboren.« (Isa 19:24) 5 Man wird von Zion sagen: / »Ein jeder ist dort geboren«; und er selbst, der Höchste, erhält es. 6 Der HERR spricht, wenn er aufschreibt die Völker: »Die sind dort geboren.« Sela. 7 Und sie singen beim Reigen: Alle meine Quellen sind in dir! (Ps 36:10)

Sion, la città di Dio

1 Salmo dei figli di Core. Cantico. Il Signore ha fondato la sua città sui monti santi. 2 Egli ama le porte di Sion più di tutte le dimore di Giacobbe. 3 Cose gloriose son dette di te, o città di Dio! [Pausa] 4 «Menzionerò l’Egitto e Babilonia fra quelli che mi conoscono; ecco la Filistia e Tiro, con l’Etiopia: ciascuno d’essi è nato in Sion!» 5 E si dirà in Sion: «Questi e quello son nati in essa; e l’Altissimo la renderà stabile». 6 Il Signore farà il censimento e nel registrare i popoli dirà: «Questi è nato là». [Pausa] 7 E cantando e danzando diranno: «Tutte le fonti della mia gioia sono in te».
