1Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding in his hand the key to the bottomless pit[1] and a great chain. (Re 1:18; Re 9:1)2And he seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years, (2Pe 2:4; Jud 1:6; Re 12:9)3and threw him into the pit, and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he might not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were ended. The Defeat of Satan
7And when the thousand years are ended, Satan will be released from his prison (Re 20:2)8and will come out to deceive the nations that are at the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them for battle; their number is like the sand of the sea. (Eze 38:2; Eze 39:1; Re 16:14; Re 20:3)9And they marched up over the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city, but fire came down from heaven[2] and consumed them, (Ps 132:13; Isa 8:8; Eze 38:9; Eze 38:16; Hab 1:6; Heb 13:11; Heb 13:13; Re 13:13)10and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. Judgment Before the Great White Throne
11Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. (Ps 102:26; Da 2:35; Re 12:8)12And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. (Da 7:10; Mt 16:27; Ro 14:10; 2Co 5:10; 2Co 11:18; Re 3:5)13And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done. 1Puis je vis descendre du ciel un ange, qui avait la clef de l'abîme et une grande chaîne dans sa main.2Il saisit le dragon, le serpent ancien, qui est le diable et Satan, et il le lia pour mille ans.3Il le jeta dans l'abîme, ferma et scella l'entrée au-dessus de lui, afin qu'il ne séduisît plus les nations, jusqu'à ce que les mille ans fussent accomplis. Après cela, il faut qu'il soit délié pour un peu de temps.4Et je vis des trônes; et à ceux qui s'y assirent fut donné le pouvoir de juger. Et je vis les âmes de ceux qui avaient été décapités à cause du témoignage de Jésus et à cause de la parole de Dieu, et de ceux qui n'avaient pas adoré la bête ni son image, et qui n'avaient pas reçu la marque sur leur front et sur leur main. Ils revinrent à la vie, et ils régnèrent avec Christ pendant mille ans.5Les autres morts ne revinrent point à la vie jusqu'à ce que les mille ans fussent accomplis. C'est la première résurrection.6Heureux et saints ceux qui ont part à la première résurrection!
