1 Shout for joy in the LORD, O you righteous! Praise befits the upright. (Ps 32:11; Ps 147:1) 2 Give thanks to the LORD with the lyre; make melody to him with the harp of ten strings! (Ps 71:22; Ps 144:9) 3 Sing to him a new song; play skillfully on the strings, with loud shouts. (Ps 40:3; Ps 96:1; Isa 42:10) 4 For the word of the LORD is upright, and all his work is done in faithfulness. (Ps 119:75) 5 He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the steadfast love of the LORD. (Ps 11:7; Ps 36:5; Ps 36:6; Ps 45:7; Ps 89:14; Ps 119:64) 6 By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, and by the breath of his mouth all their host. (Ge 1:6; Ge 1:7; Ge 2:1; Job 26:13; Isa 11:4; Joh 1:3; Heb 11:3; 2Pe 3:5) 7 He gathers the waters of the sea as a heap; he puts the deeps in storehouses. (Ex 15:8; Jos 3:13; Jos 3:16; Job 38:8; Ps 78:13) 8 Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him! 9 For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm. (Ge 1:3; Ps 147:15; Ps 147:18; Ps 148:5; Ps 148:6) 10 The LORD brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; he frustrates the plans of the peoples. (2Sa 15:34; 2Sa 17:14; Ne 4:15; Job 5:12; Isa 8:10; Isa 19:3; Lu 1:51) 11 The counsel of the LORD stands forever, the plans of his heart to all generations. (Pr 19:21; Isa 46:10) 12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage! (Ex 19:5; De 7:6; De 33:29; Ps 65:4; Ps 144:15) 13 The LORD looks down from heaven; he sees all the children of man; (Job 28:24; Ps 11:4) 14 from where he sits enthroned he looks out on all the inhabitants of the earth, (1Ki 8:39; 1Ki 8:43; 1Ki 8:49; Pr 15:3; Jer 32:19) 15 he who fashions the hearts of them all and observes all their deeds. 16 The king is not saved by his great army; a warrior is not delivered by his great strength. (Ps 44:6) 17 The war horse is a false hope for salvation, and by its great might it cannot rescue. (Ps 20:7; Ps 147:10; Pr 21:31; Ho 1:7) 18 Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast love, (Job 36:7; Ps 34:15; Ps 147:11; 1Pe 3:12) 19 that he may deliver their soul from death and keep them alive in famine. (Job 5:20; Ps 37:19; Ac 12:11) 20 Our soul waits for the LORD; he is our help and our shield. (Ps 3:3; Ps 62:1; Ps 62:5; Ps 115:9; Ps 130:6; Isa 8:17) 21 For our heart is glad in him, because we trust in his holy name. (Ps 9:14; Ps 11:1; Zec 10:7) 22 Let your steadfast love, O LORD, be upon us, even as we hope in you.

1 Justes, réjouissez-vous en l'Éternel! La louange sied aux hommes droits. 2 Célébrez l'Éternel avec la harpe, Célébrez-le sur le luth à dix cordes. 3 Chantez-lui un cantique nouveau! Faites retentir vos instruments et vos voix! 4 Car la parole de l'Éternel est droite, Et toutes ses oeuvres s'accomplissent avec fidélité; 5 Il aime la justice et la droiture; La bonté de l'Éternel remplit la terre. 6 Les cieux ont été faits par la parole de l'Éternel, Et toute leur armée par le souffle de sa bouche. 7 Il amoncelle en un tas les eaux de la mer, Il met dans des réservoirs les abîmes. 8 Que toute la terre craigne l'Éternel! Que tous les habitants du monde tremblent devant lui! 9 Car il dit, et la chose arrive; Il ordonne, et elle existe. 10 L'Éternel renverse les desseins des nations, Il anéantit les projets des peuples; 11 Les desseins de l'Éternel subsistent à toujours, Et les projets de son coeur, de génération en génération. 12 Heureuse la nation dont l'Éternel est le Dieu! Heureux le peuple qu'il choisit pour son héritage! 13 L'Éternel regarde du haut des cieux, Il voit tous les fils de l'homme; 14 Du lieu de sa demeure il observe Tous les habitants de la terre, 15 Lui qui forme leur coeur à tous, Qui est attentif à toutes leurs actions. 16 Ce n'est pas une grande armée qui sauve le roi, Ce n'est pas une grande force qui délivre le héros; 17 Le cheval est impuissant pour assurer le salut, Et toute sa vigueur ne donne pas la délivrance. 18 Voici, l'oeil de l'Éternel est sur ceux qui le craignent, Sur ceux qui espèrent en sa bonté, 19 Afin d'arracher leur âme à la mort Et de les faire vivre au milieu de la famine. 20 Notre âme espère en l'Éternel; Il est notre secours et notre bouclier. 21 Car notre coeur met en lui sa joie, Car nous avons confiance en son saint nom. 22 Éternel! que ta grâce soit sur nous, Comme nous espérons en toi!
