1Then the LORD said to Moses, “Go in to Pharaoh and say to him, ‘Thus says the LORD, the God of the Hebrews, “Let my people go, that they may serve me. (Ex 7:16; Ex 8:1; Ex 8:2)2For if you refuse to let them go and still hold them,3behold, the hand of the LORD will fall with a very severe plague upon your livestock that are in the field, the horses, the donkeys, the camels, the herds, and the flocks. (Ex 7:4)4But the LORD will make a distinction between the livestock of Israel and the livestock of Egypt, so that nothing of all that belongs to the people of Israel shall die.”’” (Ex 8:22; Ex 11:7)5And the LORD set a time, saying, “Tomorrow the LORD will do this thing in the land.”6And the next day the LORD did this thing. All the livestock of the Egyptians died, but not one of the livestock of the people of Israel died. (Ex 9:19)7And Pharaoh sent, and behold, not one of the livestock of Israel was dead. But the heart of Pharaoh was hardened, and he did not let the people go. (Ex 7:14)
The Sixth Plague: Boils
8And the LORD said to Moses and Aaron, “Take handfuls of soot from the kiln, and let Moses throw them in the air in the sight of Pharaoh.9It shall become fine dust over all the land of Egypt, and become boils breaking out in sores on man and beast throughout all the land of Egypt.” (Le 13:18; De 28:27; 2Ki 20:7; Job 2:7; Isa 38:21; Re 16:2)10So they took soot from the kiln and stood before Pharaoh. And Moses threw it in the air, and it became boils breaking out in sores on man and beast.11And the magicians could not stand before Moses because of the boils, for the boils came upon the magicians and upon all the Egyptians. (Ex 7:11; 2Ti 3:9)12But the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he did not listen to them, as the LORD had spoken to Moses. (Ex 4:21)
The Seventh Plague: Hail
13Then the LORD said to Moses, “Rise up early in the morning and present yourself before Pharaoh and say to him, ‘Thus says the LORD, the God of the Hebrews, “Let my people go, that they may serve me. (Ex 7:15; Ex 8:20)14For this time I will send all my plagues on you yourself,[1] and on your servants and your people, so that you may know that there is none like me in all the earth. (Ex 8:10)15For by now I could have put out my hand and struck you and your people with pestilence, and you would have been cut off from the earth.16But for this purpose I have raised you up, to show you my power, so that my name may be proclaimed in all the earth. (Ps 83:18; Pr 16:4; Ro 9:17; Ro 10:1; Ro 10:2; Ro 11:9; Ro 14:17)17You are still exalting yourself against my people and will not let them go. (Ne 9:10)18Behold, about this time tomorrow I will cause very heavy hail to fall, such as never has been in Egypt from the day it was founded until now.19Now therefore send, get your livestock and all that you have in the field into safe shelter, for every man and beast that is in the field and is not brought home will die when the hail falls on them.”’” (Ex 9:4)20Then whoever feared the word of the LORD among the servants of Pharaoh hurried his slaves and his livestock into the houses,21but whoever did not pay attention to the word of the LORD left his slaves and his livestock in the field.22Then the LORD said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward heaven, so that there may be hail in all the land of Egypt, on man and beast and every plant of the field, in the land of Egypt.” (Re 16:21)23Then Moses stretched out his staff toward heaven, and the LORD sent thunder and hail, and fire ran down to the earth. (Ex 9:29)34But when Pharaoh saw that the rain and the hail and the thunder had ceased, he sinned yet again and hardened his heart, he and his servants. (Ex 7:14; 1Sa 6:6)35So the heart of Pharaoh was hardened, and he did not let the people of Israel go, just as the LORD had spoken through Moses. (Ex 4:21)

L'Éternel fit pleuvoir de la grêle sur le pays d'Égypte.24Il tomba de la grêle, et le feu se mêlait avec la grêle; elle était tellement forte qu'il n'y en avait point eu de semblable dans tout le pays d'Égypte depuis qu'il existe comme nation.25La grêle frappa, dans tout le pays d'Égypte, tout ce qui était dans les champs, depuis les hommes jusqu'aux animaux; la grêle frappa aussi toutes les herbes des champs, et brisa tous les arbres des champs.26Ce fut seulement dans le pays de Gosen, où étaient les enfants d'Israël, qu'il n'y eut point de grêle.27Pharaon fit appeler Moïse et Aaron, et leur dit: Cette fois, j'ai péché; c'est l'Éternel qui est le juste, et moi et mon peuple nous sommes les coupables.28Priez l'Éternel, pour qu'il n'y ait plus de tonnerres ni de grêle; et je vous laisserai aller, et l'on ne vous retiendra plus.29Moïse lui dit: Quand je sortirai de la ville, je lèverai mes mains vers l'Éternel, les tonnerres cesseront et il n'y aura plus de grêle, afin que tu saches que la terre est à l'Éternel.30Mais je sais que toi et tes serviteurs, vous ne craindrez pas encore l'Éternel Dieu.31Le lin et l'orge avaient été frappés, parce que l'orge était en épis et que c'était la floraison du lin;32le froment et l'épeautre n'avaient point été frappés, parce qu'ils sont tardifs.33Moïse sortit de chez Pharaon, pour aller hors de la ville; il leva ses mains vers l'Éternel, les tonnerres et la grêle cessèrent, et la pluie ne tomba plus sur la terre.34Pharaon, voyant que la pluie, la grêle et les tonnerres avaient cessé, continua de pécher, et il endurcit son coeur, lui et ses serviteurs.35Le coeur de Pharaon s'endurcit, et il ne laissa point aller les enfants d'Israël, selon ce que l'Éternel avait dit par l'intermédiaire de Moïse.
