7»Schreibe an den Engel der Gemeinde in Philadelphia: So spricht Er, der heilig ist und Treue hält, Er, der den Schlüssel Davids hat – wo Er öffnet, kann niemand zuschließen, und wo Er zuschließt, kann niemand öffnen –, Er lässt euch sagen: (Isa 22:22; Mt 16:19)8Ich kenne euer Tun. Ich habe euch eine Tür geöffnet, die niemand zuschließen kann. Eure Kraft ist nur klein. Trotzdem habt ihr euch nach meinem Wort gerichtet und das Bekenntnis zu mir nicht widerrufen.9Hört zu! Ich werde Menschen zu euch schicken, die zur Synagoge des Satans gehören. Sie behaupten, dass sie zum Volk Gottes zählen;[2] das stimmt aber nicht, sie lügen. Ich werde dafür sorgen, dass sie sich vor euch niederwerfen und anerkennen, dass ich euch erwählt habe und liebe. (Re 2:9)10Ihr habt mein Wort beherzigt, mit dem ich euch zum Durchhalten aufrief. Darum werde ich euch in der Zeit der Versuchung bewahren, die demnächst über die ganze Erde kommen und alle Menschen auf die Probe stellen wird. (Lu 21:19; 2Pe 2:9)11Ich komme bald! Haltet fest, was ihr habt, damit euch niemand den Siegeskranz streitig macht! Darum werde ich euch aus meinem Mund ausspucken.17Ihr sagt: ›Wir sind reich und bestens versorgt; uns fehlt nichts.‹ Aber ihr wisst nicht, wie unglücklich und bejammernswert ihr seid, elend, blind und nackt.
