1 Shout for joy in the Lord, O you righteous! Praise befits the upright. (Ps 32:11; Ps 147:1) 2 Give thanks to the Lord with the lyre; make melody to him with the harp of ten strings! (Ps 71:22; Ps 144:9) 3 Sing to him a new song; play skillfully on the strings, with loud shouts. (Ps 40:3; Ps 96:1; Isa 42:10) 4 For the word of the Lord is upright, and all his work is done in faithfulness. (Ps 119:75) 5 He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the steadfast love of the Lord. (Ps 11:7; Ps 36:5; Ps 45:7; Ps 89:14; Ps 119:64) 6 By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, and by the breath of his mouth all their host. (Ge 1:6; Ge 2:1; Job 26:13; Isa 11:4; Joh 1:3; Heb 11:3; 2Pe 3:5) 7 He gathers the waters of the sea as a heap; he puts the deeps in storehouses. (Ex 15:8; Jos 3:13; Jos 3:16; Job 38:8; Ps 78:13) 8 Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him! 9 For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm. (Ge 1:3; Ps 147:15; Ps 147:18; Ps 148:5) 10 The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; he frustrates the plans of the peoples. (2Sa 15:34; 2Sa 17:14; Ne 4:15; Job 5:12; Isa 8:10; Isa 19:3; Lu 1:51) 11 The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the plans of his heart to all generations. (Pr 19:21; Isa 46:10) 12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage! (Ex 19:5; De 7:6; De 33:29; Ps 65:4; Ps 144:15) 13 The Lord looks down from heaven; he sees all the children of man; (Job 28:24; Ps 11:4) 14 from where he sits enthroned he looks out on all the inhabitants of the earth, (1Ki 8:39; 1Ki 8:43; 1Ki 8:49; Pr 15:3; Jer 32:19) 15 he who fashions the hearts of them all and observes all their deeds. 16 The king is not saved by his great army; a warrior is not delivered by his great strength. (Ps 44:6) 17 The war horse is a false hope for salvation, and by its great might it cannot rescue. (Ps 20:7; Ps 147:10; Pr 21:31; Ho 1:7) 18 Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast love, (Job 36:7; Ps 34:15; Ps 147:11; 1Pe 3:12) 19 that he may deliver their soul from death and keep them alive in famine. (Job 5:20; Ps 37:19; Ac 12:11) 20 Our soul waits for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. (Ps 3:3; Ps 62:1; Ps 62:5; Ps 115:9; Ps 130:6; Isa 8:17) 21 For our heart is glad in him, because we trust in his holy name. (Ps 9:14; Ps 11:1; Zec 10:7) 22 Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us, even as we hope in you.

1 Jubelt dem HERRN zu, ihr alle, die ihr ihm gehorcht! Es ist gut, wenn die Redlichen ihn preisen! (Ps 92:2) 2 Dankt dem HERRN auf der Laute, spielt für ihn auf der zehnsaitigen Harfe! 3 Singt ihm ein neues Lied, singt und spielt, gebt euer Bestes! (Ps 96:1) 4 Das Wort des HERRN ist verlässlich; er beweist es durch seine Taten. 5 Er liebt Gerechtigkeit und Recht; von seiner Güte lebt die ganze Welt. 6 Durch das Wort des HERRN ist der Himmel entstanden, die Gestirne schuf er durch seinen Befehl. (Ps 8:4) 7 Das Wasser am Himmel hat er in Wolken gefasst,[1] die Fluten in Kammern eingesperrt. (Job 38:22) 8 Vor ihm muss sich die ganze Erde fürchten und jeder Mensch in Ehrfurcht erschaudern. 9 Denn er spricht und es geschieht; er gibt einen Befehl, schon ist er ausgeführt. (Isa 48:13) 10 Der HERR durchkreuzt die Beschlüsse der Völker, er macht ihre stolzen Pläne zunichte. (Isa 8:10) 11 Doch was er selbst sich vornimmt, das führt er auch aus; sein Plan steht für alle Zeiten fest. 12 Glücklich das Volk, das den HERRN zum Gott hat, das er erwählt hat als sein Eigentum! (Ex 19:5) 13 Der HERR blickt vom Himmel herab auf die Menschen; 14 von dort oben, wo sein Thronsitz ist, beobachtet er alle, die auf der Erde leben. 15 Er hat ihnen Verstand und Willen gegeben und weiß alles, was sie tun und treiben. (Ps 94:9) 16 Wenn ein König in der Schlacht den Sieg erringt, verdankt er das nicht seiner großen Armee; und wenn ein Krieger heil davonkommt, liegt das nicht an seinen starken Muskeln. (Ps 20:8) 17 Wer sich auf Reiterheere verlässt, ist verlassen; auch mit der Kraft vieler Pferde lässt sich der Sieg nicht erzwingen. 18 Doch der HERR beschützt alle, die ihm gehorchen, alle, die mit seiner Güte rechnen. 19 Er wird sie vor dem Tod bewahren und in Hungerzeiten am Leben erhalten. (1Ki 17:1) 20 Wir hoffen auf den HERRN, er hilft uns und beschützt uns. 21 Wir freuen uns über ihn, denn auf ihn, den heiligen Gott, ist Verlass. 22 HERR, lass uns deine Güte sehen, wie wir es von dir erhoffen!
