Our Eyes Look to the Lord Our God

1 A Song of Ascents. To you I lift up my eyes, O you who are enthroned in the heavens! (Ps 2:4; Ps 25:15; Ps 120:1; Ps 121:1; Ps 141:8)

2 Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a maidservant to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the Lord our God, till he has mercy upon us. 3 Have mercy upon us, O Lord, have mercy upon us, for we have had more than enough of contempt. (Ne 4:4; Ps 4:1) 4 Our soul has had more than enough of the scorn of those who are at ease, of the contempt of the proud. (Ne 2:19; Ps 119:51; Isa 32:9; Isa 32:11; Am 6:1)

Bitte um Erbarmen

1 Ein Lied, zu singen auf dem Weg nach Jerusalem. Ich richte meinen Blick hinauf zu dir, zum Himmel hinauf, wo du thronst. (1Ki 8:27; 1Ki 8:30; Ps 25:15) 2 Aufmerksam blicken die Knechte auf die Hand ihres Hausherrn; aufmerksam schauen die Augen der Magd auf die Hand ihrer Herrin. So voll Erwartung blicken auch wir zu dir, HERR, unser Gott, bis du uns dein Erbarmen zeigst! 3 Erbarm dich, HERR, hab Erbarmen mit uns! Wir haben genug Verachtung erlebt, (Ps 44:14) 4 viel zu viel hinunterschlucken müssen vom Spott unserer satten, sorglosen Feinde, vom Hohn vermessener Unterdrücker!
