1Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding in his hand the key to the bottomless pit[1] and a great chain. The Defeat of Satan

Judgment Before the Great White Throne
11Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. (Ps 102:26; Da 2:35; Re 12:8)12And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. (Da 7:10; Mt 16:27; Ro 14:10; 2Co 5:10; Re 3:5; Re 11:18)13And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done. 1Dann sah ich einen Engel vom Himmel herabsteigen; auf seiner Hand trug er den Schlüssel zum Abgrund und eine schwere Kette.2Er überwältigte den Drachen, die alte Schlange - das ist der Teufel oder der Satan -, und er fesselte ihn für tausend Jahre. (Ge 3:1; Job 1:6; Zec 3:1)3Er warf ihn in den Abgrund, verschloss diesen und drückte ein Siegel darauf, damit der Drache die Völker nicht mehr verführen konnte, bis die tausend Jahre vollendet sind. Danach muss er für kurze Zeit freigelassen werden. (Isa 24:21)4Dann sah ich Throne; und denen, die darauf Platz nahmen, wurde das Gericht übertragen. Ich sah die Seelen aller, die enthauptet worden waren um des Zeugnisses für Jesus und des Wortes Gottes willen. Sie hatten das Tier und sein Standbild nicht angebetet und sie hatten das Kennzeichen nicht auf ihrer Stirn und auf ihrer Hand anbringen lassen. Der endgültige Sieg über den Satan
7Wenn die tausend Jahre vollendet sind, wird der Satan aus seinem Gefängnis freigelassen werden.8Er wird ausziehen, um die Völker an den vier Ecken der Erde, den Gog und den Magog, zu verführen und sie zusammenzuholen für den Kampf; sie sind so zahlreich wie die Sandkörner am Meer. (Isa 11:12; Eze 7:2; Eze 38:2)9Sie schwärmten aus über die weite Erde und umzingelten das Lager der Heiligen und Gottes geliebte Stadt. Aber Feuer fiel vom Himmel und verzehrte sie. (2Ki 1:10; Ps 87:2; Eze 39:6; Hab 1:6)10Und der Teufel, ihr Verführer, wurde in den See von brennendem Schwefel geworfen, wo auch das Tier und der falsche Prophet sind. Das Gericht über alle Toten
11Dann sah ich einen großen weißen Thron und den, der auf ihm saß; vor seinem Anblick flohen Erde und Himmel und es gab keinen Platz mehr für sie. (Ps 114:3; Isa 6:1; Da 2:35)12Ich sah die Toten vor dem Thron stehen, die Großen und die Kleinen. Und Bücher wurden aufgeschlagen; und ein anderes Buch, das Buch des Lebens, wurde geöffnet. Die Toten wurden gerichtet, nach dem, was in den Büchern aufgeschrieben war, nach ihren Taten. (Ps 28:4; Ps 69:29; Da 7:10; Re 3:5)13Und das Meer gab die Toten heraus, die in ihm waren; und der Tod und die Unterwelt gaben ihre Toten heraus, die in ihnen waren.
