1“Cry aloud; do not hold back; lift up your voice like a trumpet; declare to my people their transgression, to the house of Jacob their sins. (Le 25:9; Joe 2:1; Mic 3:8)2Yet they seek me daily and delight to know my ways, as if they were a nation that did righteousness and did not forsake the judgment of their God; they ask of me righteous judgments; they delight to draw near to God. Why have we humbled ourselves, and you take no knowledge of it?’ Behold, in the day of your fast you seek your own pleasure,[1] and oppress all your workers. Fasting like yours this day will not make your voice to be heard on high.5Is such the fast that I choose, a day for a person to humble himself? Is it to bow down his head like a reed, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? Will you call this a fast, and a day acceptable to the Lord? Wie eine Nation, die Gerechtigkeit übt / und vom Recht ihres Gottes nicht ablässt,
so fordern sie von mir gerechte Entscheide / und haben an Gottes Nähe Gefallen.3Warum fasten wir und du siehst es nicht? / Warum haben wir uns gedemütigt und du weißt es nicht?
Seht, an euren Fasttagen macht ihr Geschäfte / und alle eure Arbeiter treibt ihr an.4Seht, ihr fastet und es gibt Streit und Zank / und ihr schlagt zu mit roher Gewalt.
So wie ihr jetzt fastet, / verschafft ihr eurer Stimme droben kein Gehör. (Ex 21:18)5Ist das ein Fasten, wie ich es wünsche, / ein Tag, an dem sich der Mensch demütigt:
wenn man den Kopf hängen lässt wie eine Binse, / wenn man sich mit Sack und Asche bedeckt?
Nennst du das ein Fasten / und einen Tag, der dem HERRN gefällt?6Ist nicht das ein Fasten, wie ich es wünsche: / die Fesseln des Unrechts zu lösen, / die Stricke des Jochs zu entfernen,
Unterdrückte freizulassen, / jedes Joch zu zerbrechen? (Isa 61:1)7Bedeutet es nicht, dem Hungrigen dein Brot zu brechen, / obdachlose Arme ins Haus aufzunehmen,
wenn du einen Nackten siehst, ihn zu bekleiden / und dich deiner Verwandtschaft nicht zu entziehen? (Mt 25:35)8Dann wird dein Licht hervorbrechen wie das Morgenrot / und deine Heilung wird schnell gedeihen.
Deine Gerechtigkeit geht dir voran, / die Herrlichkeit des HERRN folgt dir nach. (Isa 52:12)9Wenn du dann rufst, / wird der HERR dir Antwort geben,
und wenn du um Hilfe schreist, wird er sagen: / Hier bin ich.
Wenn du Unterjochung aus deiner Mitte entfernst, / auf keinen mit dem Finger zeigst und niemandem übel nachredest, (Isa 30:19; Isa 65:24)10den Hungrigen stärkst / und den Gebeugten satt machst,
dann geht im Dunkel dein Licht auf / und deine Finsternis wird hell wie der Mittag.11Der HERR wird dich immer führen, / auch im dürren Land macht er dich satt / und stärkt deine Glieder.
Du gleichst einem bewässerten Garten, / einer Quelle, deren Wasser nicht trügt. (Jer 31:12)12Die Deinen bauen uralte Trümmerstätten wieder auf, / die Grundmauern vergangener Generationen stellst du wieder her.
Man nennt dich Maurer, / der Risse schließt, / der Pfade zum Bleiben wiederherstellt. (Isa 61:4; Am 9:11)13Wenn du am Sabbat deinen Fuß zurückhältst, / deine Geschäfte an meinem heiligen Tag zu machen,
wenn du den Sabbat eine Wonne nennst, / heilig für den HERRN, hochgeehrt,
wenn du ihn ehrst, ohne Gänge zu machen / und ohne dich Geschäften zu widmen und viele Worte zu machen,14dann wirst du am HERRN deine Wonne haben. / Dann lasse ich dich über die Höhen der Erde dahinfahren und
das Erbe deines Vaters Jakob genießen. / Ja, der Mund des HERRN hat gesprochen. (Job 22:26; Ps 37:4)

1«Grida a piena gola, non ti trattenere, alza la tua voce come una tromba; dichiara al mio popolo le sue trasgressioni, alla casa di Giacobbe i suoi peccati.2Mi cercano giorno dopo giorno, prendono piacere a conoscere le mie vie, come una nazione che avesse praticato la giustizia e non avesse abbandonato la legge del suo Dio; mi domandano dei giudizi giusti, prendono piacere ad accostarsi a Dio.3“Perché”, dicono essi, “quando abbiamo digiunato, non ci hai visti? Quando ci siamo umiliati, non lo hai notato?” Ecco, nel giorno del vostro digiuno voi fate i vostri affari ed esigete che siano fatti tutti i vostri lavori.4Ecco, voi digiunate per litigare, per fare discussioni, e colpite con pugno malvagio; oggi voi non digiunate in modo da far ascoltare la vostra voce in alto.5È forse questo il digiuno di cui mi compiaccio, il giorno in cui l’uomo si umilia? Curvare la testa come un giunco, sdraiarsi sul sacco e sulla cenere, è dunque questo ciò che chiami digiuno, giorno gradito al Signore?6Il digiuno che io gradisco non è forse questo: che si spezzino le catene della malvagità, che si sciolgano i legami del giogo, che si lascino liberi gli oppressi e che si spezzi ogni tipo di giogo?7Non è forse questo: che tu divida il tuo pane con chi ha fame, che tu conduca a casa tua gli infelici privi di riparo, che quando vedi uno nudo tu lo copra e che tu non ti nasconda a colui che è carne della tua carne?8Allora la tua luce spunterà come l’aurora, la tua guarigione germoglierà prontamente; la tua giustizia ti precederà, la gloria del Signore sarà la tua retroguardia.9Allora chiamerai e il Signore ti risponderà; griderai ed egli dirà: “Eccomi!” Se tu togli di mezzo a te il giogo, il dito accusatore e il parlare con menzogna,10se tu supplisci ai bisogni dell’affamato e sazi l’afflitto, la tua luce spunterà nelle tenebre e la tua notte oscura sarà come il mezzogiorno;11il Signore ti guiderà sempre, ti sazierà nei luoghi aridi, darà vigore alle tue ossa; tu sarai come un giardino ben annaffiato, come una sorgente la cui acqua non manca mai.12I tuoi ricostruiranno sulle antiche rovine; tu rialzerai le fondamenta gettate da molte età e sarai chiamato il riparatore delle brecce, il restauratore dei sentieri per rendere abitabile il paese.13Se tu trattieni il piede dal violare il sabato, facendo i tuoi affari nel mio santo giorno, se chiami il sabato una delizia e venerabile ciò che è sacro al Signore, se onori quel giorno anziché seguire le tue vie e fare i tuoi affari e discutere le tue cause,14allora troverai la tua delizia nel Signore; io ti farò cavalcare sulle alture del paese, ti nutrirò della eredità di Giacobbe tuo padre», poiché la bocca del Signore ha parlato.
