A Census of Israel’s Warriors

1 The LORD spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the tent of meeting, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt, saying, (Ex 19:1; Ex 25:22; Nu 10:11; Nu 10:12) 

2 “Take a census of all the congregation of the people of Israel, by clans, by fathers’ houses, according to the number of names, every male, head by head. (Ex 30:12; Ex 38:26; Nu 1:20; Nu 1:22; Nu 3:47; Nu 26:2; 2Sa 24:2; 1Ch 21:2; 1Ch 23:3; 1Ch 23:24) 

3 From twenty years old and upward, all in Israel who are able to go to war, you and Aaron shall list them, company by company. (Ex 12:51; Ex 30:14; Nu 14:29) 

4 And there shall be with you a man from each tribe, each man being the head of the house of his fathers. 

5 And these are the names of the men who shall assist you. From Reuben, Elizur the son of Shedeur; (Nu 7:30) 

6 from Simeon, Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai; (Nu 7:36) 

7 from Judah, Nahshon the son of Amminadab; (Ex 6:23) 

8 from Issachar, Nethanel the son of Zuar; (Nu 7:18) 

9 from Zebulun, Eliab the son of Helon; (Nu 7:24) 

10 from the sons of Joseph, from Ephraim, Elishama the son of Ammihud, and from Manasseh, Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur; (Nu 7:48; Nu 7:54; 1Ch 7:26) 

11 from Benjamin, Abidan the son of Gideoni; (Nu 7:60) 

12 from Dan, Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai; (Nu 7:66) 

13 from Asher, Pagiel the son of Ochran; (Nu 7:72) 

14 from Gad, Eliasaph the son of Deuel; (Nu 7:42) 

15 from Naphtali, Ahira the son of Enan.” (Nu 7:78) 

16 These were the ones chosen from the congregation, the chiefs of their ancestral tribes, the heads of the clans of Israel. (Ex 18:21; Ex 18:25; Nu 7:2; Nu 26:9; 1Ch 27:16) 

17 Moses and Aaron took these men who had been named, (1Ch 12:31; 1Ch 16:41; 2Ch 28:15; 2Ch 31:19; Ezr 8:20) 

18 and on the first day of the second month, they assembled the whole congregation together, who registered themselves by clans, by fathers’ houses, according to the number of names from twenty years old and upward, head by head, 

19 as the LORD commanded Moses. So he listed them in the wilderness of Sinai. 

20 The people of Reuben, Israel’s firstborn, their generations, by their clans, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of names, head by head, every male from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go to war: (Nu 2:3) 

21 those listed of the tribe of Reuben were 46,500. (Nu 26:7) 

22 Of the people of Simeon, their generations, by their clans, by their fathers’ houses, those of them who were listed, according to the number of names, head by head, every male from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go to war: 

23 those listed of the tribe of Simeon were 59,300. (Nu 26:14) 

24 Of the people of Gad, their generations, by their clans, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go to war: 

25 those listed of the tribe of Gad were 45,650. (Nu 26:18) 

26 Of the people of Judah, their generations, by their clans, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, every man able to go to war: 

27 those listed of the tribe of Judah were 74,600. (Nu 26:22; 2Sa 24:9) 

28 Of the people of Issachar, their generations, by their clans, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, every man able to go to war: 

29 those listed of the tribe of Issachar were 54,400. (Nu 26:25) 

30 Of the people of Zebulun, their generations, by their clans, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, every man able to go to war: 

31 those listed of the tribe of Zebulun were 57,400. (Nu 26:27) 

32 Of the people of Joseph, namely, of the people of Ephraim, their generations, by their clans, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, every man able to go to war: 

33 those listed of the tribe of Ephraim were 40,500. (Nu 26:37) 

34 Of the people of Manasseh, their generations, by their clans, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, every man able to go to war: 

35 those listed of the tribe of Manasseh were 32,200. (Nu 26:34) 

36 Of the people of Benjamin, their generations, by their clans, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, every man able to go to war: 

37 those listed of the tribe of Benjamin were 35,400. (Nu 26:41) 

38 Of the people of Dan, their generations, by their clans, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, every man able to go to war: 

39 those listed of the tribe of Dan were 62,700. (Nu 26:43) 

40 Of the people of Asher, their generations, by their clans, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, every man able to go to war: 

41 those listed of the tribe of Asher were 41,500. (Nu 26:47) 

42 Of the people of Naphtali, their generations, by their clans, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, every man able to go to war: 

43 those listed of the tribe of Naphtali were 53,400. (Nu 26:50) 

44 These are those who were listed, whom Moses and Aaron listed with the help of the chiefs of Israel, twelve men, each representing his fathers’ house. (Nu 26:64) 

45 So all those listed of the people of Israel, by their fathers’ houses, from twenty years old and upward, every man able to go to war in Israel— 

46 all those listed were 603,550. (Ex 12:37; Ex 38:26) 

Levites Exempted

47 But the Levites were not listed along with them by their ancestral tribe. (Nu 2:33; Nu 4:1; Nu 26:57; Nu 26:58; Nu 26:62; 1Ch 6:1) 

48 For the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, 

49 “Only the tribe of Levi you shall not list, and you shall not take a census of them among the people of Israel. 

50 But appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of the testimony, and over all its furnishings, and over all that belongs to it. They are to carry the tabernacle and all its furnishings, and they shall take care of it and shall camp around the tabernacle. (Ex 38:21; Nu 3:7; Nu 3:8; Nu 3:23; Nu 4:15) 

51 When the tabernacle is to set out, the Levites shall take it down, and when the tabernacle is to be pitched, the Levites shall set it up. And if any outsider comes near, he shall be put to death. (Nu 3:10; Nu 3:38; Nu 10:17; Nu 10:21; Nu 18:22; 1Sa 6:19; 2Sa 6:6; 2Sa 6:7; 1Ch 13:10) 

52 The people of Israel shall pitch their tents by their companies, each man in his own camp and each man by his own standard. (Nu 2:2; Nu 2:34) 

53 But the Levites shall camp around the tabernacle of the testimony, so that there may be no wrath on the congregation of the people of Israel. And the Levites shall keep guard over the tabernacle of the testimony.” (Nu 3:7; Nu 3:8; Nu 3:38; Nu 8:19; Nu 8:26; Nu 9:19; Nu 9:23; Nu 16:46; Nu 18:3; Nu 18:5; Nu 31:30; Nu 31:47; 1Ch 23:32; 2Ch 13:11) 

54 Thus did the people of Israel; they did according to all that the LORD commanded Moses.

4 每一支派要有一个人来协助你们。他们都是各宗族的族长， 

5 名单如下。 “吕便支派示丢珥的儿子以利苏、 

6 西缅支派苏利沙代的儿子示路蔑、 

7 犹大支派亚米拿达的儿子拿顺、 

8 以萨迦支派苏押的儿子拿坦业、 

9 西布伦支派希伦的儿子以利押、 

10 约瑟的后裔——以法莲支派亚米忽的儿子以利沙玛和玛拿西支派比大苏的儿子迦玛列、 

11 便雅悯支派基多尼的儿子亚比但、 

12 但支派亚米沙代的儿子亚希以谢、 

13 亚设支派俄兰的儿子帕结、 

14 迦得支派丢珥的儿子以利雅萨、 

15 拿弗他利支派以南的儿子亚希拉。” 

16 他们都是从会众中选出来的，是各支派的首领，也是以色列的将领。 

17 摩西和亚伦在这些族长的帮助下， 

18 在二月一日招聚全体会众，按照宗族和家系统计人口，登记所有二十岁以上的男子。 

19 摩西照耶和华的吩咐在西奈旷野统计人口。 

20-21 以色列的长子吕便支派中，二十岁以上、有作战能力的男子按宗族、家系和姓名一一被登记下来，共有四万六千五百人。 

22-23 西缅支派中，二十岁以上、有作战能力的男子按宗族、家系和姓名一一被登记下来，共有五万九千三百人。 

24-25 迦得支派中，二十岁以上、有作战能力的男子按宗族、家系和姓名一一被登记下来，共有四万五千六百五十人。 

26-27 犹大支派中，二十岁以上、有作战能力的男子按宗族、家系和姓名一一被登记下来，共有七万四千六百人。 

28-29 以萨迦支派中，二十岁以上、有作战能力的男子按宗族、家系和姓名一一被登记下来，共有五万四千四百人。 

30-31 西布伦支派中，二十岁以上、有作战能力的男子按宗族、家系和姓名一一被登记下来，共有五万七千四百人。 

32-33 约瑟的后裔中，以法莲支派中，二十岁以上、有作战能力的男子按宗族、家系和姓名一一被登记下来，共有四万零五百人。 

34-35 玛拿西支派中，二十岁以上、有作战能力的男子按宗族、家系和姓名一一被登记下来，共有三万二千二百人。 

36-37 便雅悯支派中，二十岁以上、有作战能力的男子按宗族、家系和姓名一一被登记下来，共有三万五千四百人。 

38-39 但支派中，二十岁以上、有作战能力的男子按宗族、家系和姓名一一被登记下来，共有六万二千七百人。 

40-41 亚设支派中，二十岁以上、有作战能力的男子按宗族、家系和姓名一一被登记下来，共有四万一千五百人。 

42-43 拿弗他利支派中，二十岁以上、有作战能力的男子按宗族、家系和姓名一一被登记下来，共有五万三千四百人。 

44 以上就是摩西、亚伦和各代表自己家族的十二位以色列首领所统计的男子人数。 

45 这样，以色列人中二十岁以上、有作战能力的男子按宗族、家系和姓名一一被登记下来， 

46 共有六十万零三千五百五十人。 

47 其中不包括利未人， 

48 因为耶和华曾经对摩西说： 

49 “你不要统计利未支派的人数，不要把他们的人数算在以色列人中。 

50 你要派利未人负责搬运和照料放约柜的圣幕及其所有器具，他们要在圣幕四围扎营。 

51 在迁移的时候，利未人要负责拆卸和支搭圣幕；其他人若走近圣幕，必被处死。 

52 以色列人要按照他们的队伍各自扎营，各归本旗。 

53 但利未人要在放约柜的圣幕四周扎营，防止以色列人触怒耶和华。利未人负责看守圣幕。” 

54 以色列人就按耶和华对摩西的吩咐行了。

El primer censo

1 En el día primero del mes segundo, en el segundo año de su éxodo de la tierra de Egipto, estando en el desierto de Sinay, habló YHVH a Moisés en la Tienda de Reunión, diciendo: 

2 Levantad censo de toda la asamblea de los hijos de Israel por sus familias, por sus casas paternas, contando los nombres de todos los varones, cabeza por cabeza, 

3 de veinte años arriba, todo el que pueda entrar al ejército en Israel. Tú y Aarón los alistaréis por sus ejércitos, 

4 y un varón de cada tribu, cada uno cabeza de su respectiva casa paterna, estará con vosotros. 

5 Estos son los nombres de los varones que se presentarán con vosotros: De la tribu de Rubén: Elisur ben Sedeur. 

6 De Simeón: Selumiel ben Zurisadai. 

7 De Judá: Naasón ben Aminadab. 

8 De Isacar: Natanael ben Suar. 

9 De Zabulón: Eliab ben Helón. 

10 De los hijos de José: de Efraín, Elisama ben Amiud, de Manasés: Gamaliel ben Pedasur. 

11 De Benjamín: Abidán ben Gedeoni. 

12 De Dan: Ahiezer ben Amisadai. 

13 De Aser: Pagiel ben Ocrán. 

14 De Gad: Eliasaf ben Dehuel. 

15 De Neftalí: Ahira ben Enán. 

16 Estos fueron los designados de entre la asamblea, jerarcas de las tribus de sus padres y cabezas de los millares de Israel. 

17 Tomaron pues Moisés y Aarón a estos varones que fueron designados por nombres, 

18 e hicieron congregar a toda la asamblea el día primero del mes segundo, y se registraron por sus familias, por su casa paterna, según el número de los nombres, de veinte años arriba, cabeza por cabeza. 

19 Conforme YHVH había ordenado a Moisés, así los alistó en el desierto de Sinay. 

20 En cuanto a los hijos de Rubén, primogénito de Israel, hecha su genealogía según sus familias, sus casas paternas, enumerando nominalmente cabeza por cabeza, todos los varones de veinte años arriba, todos los aptos para el ejército, 

21 los alistados de la tribu de Rubén fueron cuarenta y seis mil quinientos. 

22 De los hijos de Simeón, hecha su genealogía según sus familias, sus casas paternas, enumerando nominalmente, cabeza por cabeza, todos los varones de veinte años arriba, todos los aptos para el ejército, 

23 los alistados de la tribu de Simeón fueron cincuenta y nueve mil trescientos. 

24 De los hijos de Gad, hecha su genealogía según sus familias, sus casas paternas, enumerando nominalmente, de veinte años arriba, todos los aptos para el ejército, 

25 los alistados de la tribu de Gad fueron cuarenta y cinco mil seiscientos cincuenta. 

26 De los hijos de Judá, hecha su genealogía según sus familias, sus casas paternas, enumerando nominalmente, de veinte años arriba, todos los aptos para el ejército, 

27 los alistados de la tribu de Judá fueron setenta y cuatro mil seiscientos. 

28 De los hijos de Isacar, hecha su genealogía según sus familias, sus casas paternas, enumerando nominalmente, de veinte años arriba, todos los aptos para el ejército, 

29 los alistados de la tribu de Isacar fueron cincuenta y cuatro mil cuatrocientos. 

30 De los hijos de Zabulón, hecha su genealogía según sus familias, sus casas paternas, enumerando nominalmente, de veinte años arriba, todos los aptos para el ejército, 

31 los alistados de la tribu de Zabulón fueron cincuenta y siete mil cuatrocientos. 

32 De los hijos de José: por los hijos de Efraín, hecha su genealogía según sus familias, sus casas paternas, enumerando nominalmente, de veinte años arriba, todos los aptos para el ejército, 

33 los alistados de la tribu de Efraín fueron cuarenta mil quinientos. 

34 De los hijos de Manasés, hecha su genealogía según sus familias, sus casas paternas, enumerando nominalmente, de veinte años arriba, todos los aptos para el ejército, 

35 los alistados de la tribu de Manasés fueron treinta y dos mil doscientos. 

36 De los hijos de Benjamín, hecha su genealogía según sus familias, sus casas paternas, enumerando nominalmente, de veinte años arriba, todos los aptos para el ejército, 

37 los alistados de la tribu de Benjamín fueron treinta y cinco mil cuatrocientos. 

38 De los hijos de Dan, hecha su genealogía según sus familias, sus casas paternas, enumerando nominalmente, de veinte años arriba, todos los aptos para el ejército, 

39 los alistados de la tribu de Dan fueron sesenta y dos mil setecientos. 

40 De los hijos de Aser, hecha su genealogía según sus familias, sus casas paternas, enumerando nominalmente, de veinte años arriba, todos los aptos para el ejército, 

41 los alistados de la tribu de Aser fueron cuarenta y un mil quinientos. 

42 Los hijos de Neftalí, hecha su genealogía según sus familias, sus casas paternas, enumerando nominalmente, de veinte años arriba, todos los aptos para el ejército, 

43 los alistados de la tribu de Neftalí fueron cincuenta y tres mil cuatrocientos. 

44 Tales fueron los alistados que registraron Moisés y Aarón, juntamente con los doce jerarcas de Israel, uno por cada casa paterna. 

45 Todos los alistados de los hijos de Israel por sus casas paternas, de veinte años arriba, todos los que en Israel podían salir a la guerra, 

46 resultaron seiscientos tres mil quinientos cincuenta. 

47 Pero los levitas no fueron alistados en medio de ellos a causa de la tribu de sus padres, 

48 pues YHVH había hablado a Moisés diciendo: 

49 Ciertamente no alistarás a la tribu de Leví ni los censarás en medio de los hijos de Israel. 

50 Tú pues encarga a los levitas respecto al Tabernáculo del Testimonio, acerca de todos sus utensilios, y todo lo que le pertenece. Ellos cargarán el Tabernáculo y todos sus utensilios y ministrarán en él, y acamparán alrededor del Tabernáculo. 

51 Cuando el Tabernáculo haya de ponerse en marcha, los levitas lo desmontarán, y cuando el Tabernáculo acampe, los levitas lo armarán, y el extraño que se acerque será muerto. 

52 Los hijos de Israel acamparán cada uno en su campamento junto a su estandarte, por sus ejércitos. 

53 Pero los levitas acamparán en torno al Tabernáculo del Testimonio para que no venga la ira sobre la asamblea de los hijos de Israel. Los levitas cuidarán de guardar el Tabernáculo del Testimonio. 

54 Y los hijos de Israel hicieron todo lo que YHVH había ordenado a Moisés. Así hicieron.
