3 To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. (1Sa 15:22; Pr 15:8) 4 Haughty eyes and a proud heart, the lamp^[1] of the wicked, are sin. 7 The violence of the wicked will sweep them away, because they refuse to do what is just. (Jer 30:23) 8 The way of the guilty is crooked, but the conduct of the pure is upright. 10 The soul of the wicked desires evil; his neighbor finds no mercy in his eyes. 11 When a scoffer is punished, the simple becomes wise; when a wise man is instructed, he gains knowledge. 1 Como los repartimientos de las aguas, Así el corazón del rey está en la mano de YHVH, A todo lo que quiere lo inclina. 2 Todo camino del hombre es recto en su propia opinión, Pero YHVH pesa los corazones. 3 Practicar el derecho y la justicia YHVH lo prefiere a los sacrificios. 4 Ojos altivos y corazón arrogante: La lámpara de los malvados es pecado. 5 Los planes del diligente sólo traen ganancia, Los del precipitado, sólo indigencia. 6 Acumular tesoros con lengua mentirosa, Es vanidad ilusoria y lazo de muerte. 7 La violencia de los impíos los arrastrará, Por cuanto se niegan a obrar con justicia. 8 La senda del vicioso es sinuosa y extraña, Las acciones del puro son rectas. 9 Más vale vivir en rincón de azotea, Que en casa espaciosa con mujer rencillosa. 10 Afán del malvado es desear el mal, Su prójimo nunca halla favor a sus ojos. 11 Cuando el burlador es castigado, el simple se hace prudente, Y cuando el sabio es instruido, adquiere conocimiento. 12 El justo hace sopesar la casa del impío, Precipitando al impío a la ruina. 13 Quien cierra sus oídos al clamor del pobre, No será escuchado cuando grite. 14 Un regalo en secreto aplaca la ira, Y un soborno bajo el manto, el gran furor. 15 Alegría para el justo es que se haga justicia, Pero terror para los que practican iniquidad. 16 Hombre que se extravía del camino de la sabiduría, Va a parar a la asamblea de los difuntos. 17 El que ama el deleite será un hombre pobre, Quien ama el vino y los ungüentos no enriquecerá. 18 Para rescate del justo sirve el malo, Y para los rectos, el prevaricador. 19 Más vale habitar en tierra desierta, Que con mujer rencillosa e iracunda. 20 Preciosos tesoros y óleo hay en la casa del sabio, Pero el hombre insensato lo dilapida. 21 El que va tras la justicia y la misericordia, Halla vida, prosperidad y honra. 22 El sabio conquista la ciudad de los poderosos, Y humilla la fortaleza en la que aquélla confía. 23 El que guarda su boca y su lengua, Guarda su alma de penurias. 24 El soberbio presuntuoso tiene por nombre insolente, Y obra con saña y furor. 25 Los deseos del perezoso lo matan, Pues sus manos no quieren trabajar, 26 Todo el día desea y más desea, Pero el justo da y no escatima. 27 Los sacrificios del malvado son abominación, ¡Cuánto más cuando los ofrece con malicia! 28 El testigo falso perecerá, Pero el que atiende, habla perpetuamente. 29 El malvado se presenta desafiante, Pero el recto examina su camino. 30 No hay habilidad, ni inteligencia, Ni consejo frente a YHVH. 31 El caballo es preparado para el día de la batalla, Pero la victoria es de YHVH.
