2I entreat Euodia and I entreat Syntyche to agree in the Lord. God’s Provision
10I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at length you have revived your concern for me. You were indeed concerned for me, but you had no opportunity. (2Co 11:9; Php 2:30)11Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. (2Co 9:8; 1Ti 6:6; 1Ti 6:8; Heb 13:5)12I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. (1Co 4:11; 2Co 11:9; 2Co 11:27)13I can do all things through him who strengthens me. (2Co 12:9; Eph 3:16; 1Ti 1:12)14Yet it was kind of you to share[6] my trouble. (Php 1:7; Re 1:9)15And you Philippians yourselves know that in the beginning of the gospel, when I left Macedonia, no church entered into partnership with me in giving and receiving, except you only. (2Co 11:8; Php 1:5)16Even in Thessalonica you sent me help for my needs once and again.17Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that increases to your credit.[7] (Ro 1:13; 2Co 9:5; Tit 3:14)18I have received full payment, and more. I am well supplied, having received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent, a fragrant offering, a sacrifice acceptable and pleasing to God. 1Así que, hermanos míos amados y ardientemente deseados, gozo y corona mía, manteneos así firmes en el Señor, amados míos.2Exhorto a Evodia y exhorto a Síntique a que tengan el mismo sentir en el Señor.3Ciertamente te ruego también a ti, genuino colaborador, que las ayudes, ya que ellas lucharon juntamente conmigo en el evangelio, también con Clemente y con los demás colaboradores míos, cuyos nombres están en el libro de la vida.4¡Regocijaos en el Señor siempre! Otra vez lo diré: ¡Regocijaos!5Vuestra gentileza sea conocida de todos los hombres. ¡El Señor está cerca!6Por nada estéis angustiados, antes bien, por la oración y la súplica, en todo sean conocidas ante Dios vuestras peticiones con acción de gracias,7y la paz de Dios, que sobrepuja todo entendimiento, guardará vuestros corazones y vuestros pensamientos en Jesús el Mesías.
Lo digno de pensar
8Por lo demás, hermanos, todo lo que es verdadero, todo lo honorable, todo lo justo, todo lo puro, todo lo amable, todo lo que es de buena reputación; si hay alguna virtud, si hay algo digno de alabanza, en eso pensad.9Lo que aprendisteis y recibisteis y oísteis y visteis en mí, esto haced, y el Dios de paz estará con vosotros.
La ofrenda de los filipenses
10En gran manera me regocijo en el Señor de que ya al fin revivió el interés que sentís por mí, el cual ya sentíais, pero os faltaba la oportunidad.11No lo digo movido por la necesidad, porque he aprendido a estar satisfecho con lo que tengo.12Sé vivir con estrechez y sé también tener abundancia. Para estar saciado como para pasar hambre, para tener abundancia como para padecer necesidad, en todo y por todo he aprendido el secreto:13¡Todo lo puedo en el que me fortalece!14Aun así, bien hicisteis en participar conmigo en mi aflicción.15Y también sabéis vosotros, oh filipenses, que al comienzo del evangelio, cuando salí de Macedonia, ninguna iglesia compartió conmigo en cuanto al dar y al recibir, sino solamente vosotros;16porque aun a Tesalónica me enviasteis una y otra vez para mis necesidades.17No penséis que busco la dádiva, sino que busco que abunde el fruto en vuestra cuenta.18Así, lo he recibido todo y tengo abundancia; estoy lleno, habiendo recibido de Epafrodito lo que me enviasteis, olor fragante, sacrificio aceptable, agradable a Dios.19Mi Dios, pues, suplirá toda vuestra necesidad según su riqueza en gloria en Jesús el Mesías.20Y al Dios y Padre nuestro sea la gloria, por los siglos de los siglos, amén.
