The Tabernacle

1 “Moreover, you shall make the tabernacle with ten curtains of fine twined linen and blue and purple and scarlet yarns; you shall make them with cherubim skillfully worked into them. (Ex 25:9; Ex 26:31; Ex 26:36; Ex 28:6; Ex 28:15; Ex 36:8; Ex 36:35; Ex 39:3; Ex 39:8)

2 The length of each curtain shall be twenty-eight cubits,^[1] and the breadth of each curtain four cubits; all the curtains shall be the same size. 3 Five curtains shall be coupled to one another, and the other five curtains shall be coupled to one another. 4 And you shall make loops of blue on the edge of the outermost curtain in the first set. Likewise you shall make loops on the edge of the outermost curtain in the second set. 5 Fifty loops you shall make on the one curtain, and fifty loops you shall make on the edge of the curtain that is in the second set; the loops shall be opposite one another. 6 And you shall make fifty clasps of gold, and couple the curtains one to the other with the clasps, so that the tabernacle may be a single whole. 7 “You shall also make curtains of goats’ hair for a tent over the tabernacle; eleven curtains shall you make. (Ex 36:14) 8 The length of each curtain shall be thirty cubits, and the breadth of each curtain four cubits. The eleven curtains shall be the same size. 9 You shall couple five curtains by themselves, and six curtains by themselves, and the sixth curtain you shall double over at the front of the tent. 10 You shall make fifty loops on the edge of the curtain that is outermost in one set, and fifty loops on the edge of the curtain that is outermost in the second set. 11 “You shall make fifty clasps of bronze, and put the clasps into the loops, and couple the tent together that it may be a single whole. 12 And the part that remains of the curtains of the tent, the half curtain that remains, shall hang over the back of the tabernacle. 13 And the extra that remains in the length of the curtains, the cubit on the one side, and the cubit on the other side, shall hang over the sides of the tabernacle, on this side and that side, to cover it. 14 And you shall make for the tent a covering of tanned rams’ skins^[2] and a covering of goatskins on top. (Ex 25:5; Ex 36:19) 15 “You shall make upright frames for the tabernacle of acacia wood. 16 Ten cubits shall be the length of a frame, and a cubit and a half the breadth of each frame. 17 There shall be two tenons in each frame, for fitting together. So shall you do for all the frames of the tabernacle. 18 You shall make the frames for the tabernacle: twenty frames for the south side; 19 and forty bases of silver you shall make under the twenty frames, two bases under one frame for its two tenons, and two bases under the next frame for its two tenons; 20 and for the second side of the tabernacle, on the north side twenty frames, 21 and their forty bases of silver, two bases under one frame, and two bases under the next frame. 22 And for the rear of the tabernacle westward you shall make six frames. 23 And you shall make two frames for corners of the tabernacle in the rear; 24 they shall be separate beneath, but joined at the top, at the first ring. Thus shall it be with both of them; they shall form the two corners. 25 And there shall be eight frames, with their bases of silver, sixteen bases; two bases under one frame, and two bases under another frame. 26 “You shall make bars of acacia wood, five for the frames of the one side of the tabernacle, 27 and five bars for the frames of the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the frames of the side of the tabernacle at the rear westward. 28 The middle bar, halfway up the frames, shall run from end to end. 29 You shall overlay the frames with gold and shall make their rings of gold for holders for the bars, and you shall overlay the bars with gold. (Ex 25:27) 30 Then you shall erect the tabernacle according to the plan for it that you were shown on the mountain. (Ex 25:40) 31 “And you shall make a veil of blue and purple and scarlet yarns and fine twined linen. It shall be made with cherubim skillfully worked into it. 32 And you shall hang it on four pillars of acacia overlaid with gold, with hooks of gold, on four bases of silver. 33 And you shall hang the veil from the clasps, and bring the ark of the testimony in there within the veil. And the veil shall separate for you the Holy Place from the Most Holy. (Ex 16:34; Ex 26:31) 34 You shall put the mercy seat on the ark of the testimony in the Most Holy Place. (Ex 25:21; Ex 40:20) 35 And you shall set the table outside the veil, and the lampstand on the south side of the tabernacle opposite the table, and you shall put the table on the north side. 37 And you shall make for the screen five pillars of acacia, and overlay them with gold. Their hooks shall be of gold, and you shall cast five bases of bronze for them.

El Tabernáculo

1 Harás al Tabernáculo diez cortinas de lino torcido y azul, púrpura y carmesí. Las harás con querubines, obra de hábil diseñador. 2 La longitud de cada cortina será de veintiocho codos y su anchura de cuatro codos, una misma medida para todas las cortinas. 3 Cinco cortinas estarán unidas una a otra, y las otras cinco cortinas unidas una a otra. 4 Harás presillas de tejido azul en la orilla de cada cortina, al final de la serie, y lo mismo harás en la orilla de la última cortina en la segunda serie. 5 Harás cincuenta presillas en la primera cortina, y cincuenta presillas en el borde de la cortina que está en la segunda serie. Las presillas estarán contrapuestas unas a otras. 6 Harás cincuenta corchetes de oro, y unirás las cortinas la una con la otra por medio de los corchetes, y el Tabernáculo será uno. 7 También harás cortinas de pelo de cabra a modo de tienda sobre el Tabernáculo: Once cortinas harás. 8 La longitud de cada cortina, treinta codos, y la anchura de cada cortina, cuatro codos. Una sola medida para las once cortinas. 9 Unirás aparte cinco cortinas, y separadamente otras seis cortinas, y la sexta cortina doblarás en la parte frontal de la Tienda. 10 Harás cincuenta presillas en la orilla de la cortina, en la última de la serie, y cincuenta presillas en la orilla de la segunda cortina en la segunda serie. 11 También harás cincuenta corchetes de bronce, y meterás los corchetes por las presillas y unirás la Tienda, y será una sola. 12 El sobrante de las cortinas de la Tienda, la mitad sobrante de la cortina, colgará por la parte posterior del Tabernáculo. 13 El codo sobrante de una parte y el codo de la otra, que sobra en la longitud de las cortinas de la Tienda, colgará a los lados del Tabernáculo, a uno y otro lado para cubrirlo. 14 Harás también a la Tienda un cobertor de pieles de carneros teñidas de rojo, y por encima un cobertor de pieles de tejones. 15 Asimismo, construirás para el Tabernáculo tablones de madera de acacia erguidos. 16 La longitud de cada tablón será de diez codos, y de codo y medio la anchura de cada tablón. 17 Cada tablón tendrá dos espigas acopladas la una con la otra. De igual manera harás con todos los tablones del Tabernáculo. 18 Harás pues así los tablones para el Tabernáculo: veinte tablones al lado del mediodía, al sur. 19 Y harás cuarenta basas de plata debajo de los veinte tablones: dos basas debajo de cada tablón para sus dos espigas, y dos basas debajo del otro tablón para sus dos espigas. 20 Al otro lado del Tabernáculo, para el lado del norte, veinte tablones, 21 y sus cuarenta basas de plata: dos basas debajo de un tablón, y dos basas debajo del otro tablón. 22 Para el lado posterior del Tabernáculo, al occidente, harás seis tablones. 23 Harás además dos tablones para las esquinas posteriores del Tabernáculo. 24 Estarán encastrados desde abajo, perfectamente unidos hasta arriba, hasta la argolla. Así se hará con ambas, son para las dos esquinas. 25 Serán ocho tablones, con sus basas de plata, dieciseis basas: dos basas debajo de un tablón, y dos basas debajo del otro tablón. 26 Harás también cinco barras de madera de acacia para los tablones de un lado del Tabernáculo, 27 y cinco barras para los tablones del otro lado del Tabernáculo, y cinco barras para el lado posterior del Tabernáculo, hacia el occidente. 28 Y la barra del medio atravesará los tablones por el centro, de un extremo al otro extremo. 29 Recubrirás de oro los tablones. Harás sus argollas de oro para meter por ellas las barras y recubrirás de oro las barras. 30 Harás erigir el Tabernáculo conforme al modelo que te fue mostrado en el monte. 31 Harás también un velo de azul, púrpura, carmesí y lino torcido. Se hará de obra primorosa, con querubines. 32 Lo pondrás sobre cuatro columnas de acacia recubiertas de oro, y sus ganchos de oro, sobre cuatro basas de plata. 33 Y pondrás el velo bajo los corchetes, y allí, detrás del velo, meterás el Arca del Testimonio, y el velo os hará separación entre el lugar santo y el lugar santísimo. 34 Colocarás el propiciatorio sobre el Arca del Testimonio, en el lugar santísimo. 35 Y fuera del velo pondrás la mesa, y el candelabro frente a la mesa, al costado sur del Tabernáculo, y la mesa la situarás al lado norte. 36 Para la entrada de la Tienda harás una cortina de azul, púrpura, carmesí, y lino torcido, obra de recamador. 37 Y para la cortina harás cinco columnas de acacia, las cuales recubrirás de oro. Sus ganchos serán de oro, y fundirás para ellas cinco basas de bronce.
