Timothy’s Encouraging Report
6But now that Timothy has come to us from you, and has brought us the good news of your faith and love and reported that you always remember us kindly and long to see us, as we long to see you— (Ac 18:5; 1Co 11:2; 2Co 7:6; 2Co 7:9; Php 1:8; 1Th 1:3)7for this reason, brothers,[2] in all our distress and affliction we have been comforted about you through your faith. (1Co 16:13)9For what thanksgiving can we return to God for you, for all the joy that we feel for your sake before our God, (1Th 1:2)10as we pray most earnestly night and day that we may see you face to face and supply what is lacking in your faith? (Ro 1:10; 2Co 13:9; 1Th 2:17; 2Ti 1:3)11Now may our God and Father himself, and our Lord Jesus, direct our way to you, (Ga 1:4; 2Th 3:5)12and may the Lord make you increase and abound in love for one another and for all, as we do for you, (Php 1:9; 1Th 4:1; 1Th 4:9; 1Th 4:10; 1Th 5:15; 2Th 1:3)13so that he may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints. 1Por lo cual, no soportando más, decidimos permanecer solos en Atenas,2y enviamos a Timoteo, nuestro hermano y colaborador de Dios en el evangelio del Mesías, para fortaleceros y exhortaros respecto a vuestra fe,3para que nadie se turbe por estas tribulaciones, porque vosotros sabéis que a esto estamos destinados.4Porque cuando aún estábamos con vosotros, os predecíamos que íbamos a padecer tribulaciones, como ha acontecido y lo sabéis.5Por esto, yo también, no soportando más, envié a reconocer vuestra fe, no fuera que, de algún modo, os hubiera tentado el que tienta, y que nuestro trabajo hubiera sido en vano.6Pero volviendo a nosotros ahora Timoteo, de regreso de vosotros, y trayéndonos buenas noticias de vuestra fe y amor, y que siempre tenéis buena memoria de nosotros, anhelando vernos (como también nosotros a vosotros),7por esta causa fuimos consolados, hermanos, respecto a vosotros, en medio de toda nuestra necesidad y tribulación, por causa de vuestra fe,8pues ahora vivimos, puesto que vosotros estáis firmes en el Señor.9Pues, ¿qué acción de gracias podremos dar en retorno a Dios por vosotros, por todo el gozo con que nos regocijamos delante de nuestro Dios a causa de vosotros,10noche y día rogando vehementemente que veamos vuestro rostro, y completemos lo que falta a vuestra fe?11Y el mismo Dios y Padre nuestro, y nuestro Señor Jesús, dirija nuestro camino a vosotros.12Y haga el Señor que crezcáis y abundéis en amor unos a otros, y para con todos, así como nosotros también hacia vosotros,13para que afirme vuestros corazones, irreprensibles en santidad delante de nuestro Dios y Padre, ante la venida de nuestro Señor Jesús con todos sus santos.
